Booked by my dad as an extended family holiday, the age range of the group was 2 to 63. The Delfin Azul came through with something for everyone.

There was entertainment on every night, including a children's disco, cabaret act and quiz. The hotel had a two week entertainment rotation, so no act was on more than once through our holiday.

The rooms were basic but clean. We hired a fridge to keep cold drinks handy for the children, and this was also useful for snacks. The only problem was rooms slept three, so as a family of four we had to split up a little.

The beach was across a busy road, and traffic often took no notice of the zebra crossing - care was needed with the children. However, he beach was gorgeous, clean and sandy with shops, toilets and a shower close by. The resort of Alcudia and Port D'alcudia was great, enough to keep us all busy, and public transport got us to Pollensa and the local markets for a day out or two.

Highly recommended - will go again!

This was my second time in Alcudia and I booked the hotel to get a closer location to the beach for my family.

The food was fine, a good selection of cooked meals at breakfast and dinner and a separate kids buffet.

Entertainment was good and varied and the reps offered a good selection of day trips.

My gripe was in the rooms. There was no hairdryer supplied (I had to rent one for the week at 12 euros) and no TV. This was a major problem as my young children had nothing to entertain them in their room. The room itself was fine although small and the balcony didn't have a lot of space.

Overall an enjoyable stay at the hotel and the staff were very helpful, just disappointed with the facilities in the room.

We booked this holiday on the Thomson Hotels Website and got flights independently. The remarks made here are very true – the atmosphere, entertainment and service made for an excellent holiday.

There are people who have been on holiday there for many years in succession, and understandably so. My children want to go back, but for longer next time! The reason didn’t give 10/10? We chose the hotel using the Thomson information and d we looked forward to the hotel as it was part of the same group that runs the Continental Park were we had been last year.

Other than the value-for-money the choice of the Delphin Azul was made easier because of the higher rating on food than the Continental Park, where the food had been superb. However, this hotel is Skytours one – the Thomson economy brand – and the marks reflect that.

The food here is very well cooked and there is a good selection, but it is not as good quality as at the Continental Park, or other Thomson main brochure hotels we have tried. For example, at the Continental Park there was a carvery roast, or sirloin steak option and a King Prawn or Calamari, Paella or other seafood option every dinner.

But not so at the Delphin Azul. But we still prefer the Delphin Azul, and will go back possibly even again this summer.

Food is the least important part of the holiday for the kids - they just wanted to rush off outside for fun.

Just come back from a week at the Delfin Azul and cannot say a bad word about it. Had an absolutely brilliant holiday and would recommend anyone to stay here.

We were in a large group (6 adults, 4 children, and 2 babies) and the Delfin Azul catered for all ages. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful at all times.

Food was lovely with plenty to choose from every day and night, the pool was cleaned regularly, and the kids loved it. Have to mention Jo & Art as the kids loved them; they had bags of energy and were always polite and helpful!

The entertainment was brilliant every night with different shows, the kids particularly enjoyed the parrot show, and the men particularly enjoyed the Girls Only show!

Would thoroughly recommend going to the beach just be careful crossing the road! The beach is gorgeous, clear sea and white sands; you could have mistaken it for Barbados! Loads of watersports for the adults (the ringo's were particularly fun!).

All in all 10/10 for the whole holiday, can’t fault the place, would definitely recommend this lively hotel to anyone up for a laugh, I will definitely be going back!

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and enjoyed it as much as before, although the food was not quite as good this time but restaurant staff did remember us from our previous visits.

Service in the restaurant was excellent with used plates and dishes being removed straight away.

Hotel was very clean and staff were polite. Entertainment was also good.

Only a five minute walk to the beach which was superb. Beware of the rather large wheelbarrow woman selling pineapples, melons, and coconuts. They are all very nice but at 5 Euros for a slice of pineapple, they should be!

Delfin Azul is the perfect place to be with the lively nightlife a short stroll to the right and the Port with its beachside restaurants and shops to the left.

Altogether a really enjoyable holiday. Would highly recommend this hotel to all.

The hotel was great the food was great and the staff were very good. Plenty for the kids to do at the hotel and in the area.

Would definitely go back again but I think the lift system needs updating. They couldn't cope with the amount of people that were there.

Everything very clean there which is very important to us. Kids really enjoyed it. If visiting the hotel Delfin Azul go to the water park which is only around the corner.

A very clean beach but you've got to cross a very busy road to get to it.

After reading bad reviews about the hotel Azul after we booked the holiday, we were understandingly worried. But the worries vanished within arriving at the Azul.

The rooms were very clean and tidy. There was a good selection of food and drinks available throughout the day and evening. The staff were very helpful and always polite.

Rooms were cleaned on a daily basis. We went all inclusive and it was worth it.

The only downside was the hotel is situated quite high up. But you can take a taxi for about 3 euro down to the beach.

Great place for couples just wanting to chill. Good for families who like staying around the hotel and pool areas. But could be hard work for people who like exploring locally, especially with young children because unless you’re prepared to walk up a lot of steps from the beach, it will mean taking taxis.

Overall an ok place to stay.

Recently holidayed at the Delfin Azul with my wife and two children ages 2 and 4. Very lively place, in the nicest possible way.

Rooms are small but make up for it with air conditioning. For the first time in all my travels the hot water does exactly what it says on the tin. Maid service changed the towels every day but only made the beds up. Linen was not changed all week which with having young ones is not ideal.

Hotel pool was superb, more than enough sunbeds and a huge area(including a well kept green)to put them. All the staff were friendly, polite, and very professional. Food was superb. Local dishes and British food were on offer and the desserts were amazing.

There was a separate selection for kids(chicken nuggets, chips, onion rings etc). Alcohol was reasonably priced but soft drinks and kids snacks were expensive(1.25 Euros for quavers and 1.35 for maltesers).

All in all a very clean, well run hotel with plenty of entertainment at day and night. We will definitely return here in a few years time.

My partner and I returned after a week at the Delfin Azul Alcudia 1/6/07 - 8/6/07, and have to say absolutely brilliant all round.

First impressions where very good as we walked into reception. We were checked in immediately and asked if we would like to go straight through for the dinner service, so me being me...I truly obliged Lol.

In the restaurant we were welcomed by Pep (the restaurant manager) seated immediately, waiter served us immediately also.

The food is very good, ranging from at least 2 hot dishes of meat every night, various vegetables, and a good selection of salads and breads and soups plus much more. The kid’s food section was good also, offering the usual burgers/chips/nuggets/spag bowl etc.

Also once a week is Majorcan night in the restaurant giving you the chance to try some local tastes and flavours....Now I was very impressed with that night!!

Breakfast is also very good, offering you a fry-up or Cereal/fruit/yogurt/ plenty of tea and coffee.

Overall the restaurant offers very good food with courteous staff always smiling whatever pressure is around.

Entertainment:

Excellent, ok some cheesy shows but we were particularly impressed with Il Divo the tribute band.

Entertainment every night bundled with a session of bingo, yes I played (didn’t win though) some nights the bingo offers winnings of around 200-300 Euros.

The Pool:

Excellent size for the hotel, with plenty of sunbeds and these are locked until 9.00 am, so no towels put out at 6am by the .... well you know who Lol!!

The Resort:

Excellent again, very very clean and tidy. The beach... WOW around 8 miles long and something the Caribbean would be proud of.

Do take the bus to Alcudia old town for the market at a cost of 1.50 euro’s, also Port Da Pollensa absolutely beautiful resort, not forgetting Can Picafort... excellent shopping.

I could write a lot more and ramble on forever but I won’t.

All in all, great hotel with great staff all courteous and English speaking. Wonderful resort offering cheap bus rides to the local ports and towns.

Drink prices could be a little cheaper, but hey......we are on holiday :-))

I’m sure you will enjoy this resort; I did and will be back next year.

From walking into reception you notice how clean and well kept this hotel must be, then after entering your room your thoughts are confirmed.

Well equipped, tidy and bright. The reception staff are very helpful and courteous, also the bar staff and waiters make your stay welcome.

Step into the restaurant were you will be met by Pep, the restaurant manager who will take you to your table where you can help yourself to a vast array of cuisine from the self service bar catering for all tastes, also a children's bar with all their favourites.

The pool is large and well kept with a small children's pool which is very safe. The pool area has plenty of space and sunbeds to cater for all.

The beautiful beach of Alcudia is just over the busy main road and about 100 yards in front of you making in my view, the perfect holiday destination.

Perfect holiday. The resort of Alcudia is a place my family and I keep going back to.

This was my first stay at the Delfin Azul and would give it top marks, the pool area was very spacious and clean and the staff very friendly with good English language.

Meals were served buffet style with a very wide selection of hot and cold foods, all delicious.

Night time show bar entertained every night for adults and kids alike.

Something for everyone here.

The hotel was in a good location, close to the beach although you have to cross a fairly busy road to get to it. Close proximity to bars and restaurants.

The staff were great, could not do enough for you. Maids were good, the rooms are spacious, cleaned every day, and the towels were also changed every day. Jay, the manager deserves a gold star - he is excellent.

Entertainment was fairly good, there was a good ABBA tribute, a great parrot show for the kids and Xerox which were a comedy group. There was a Karaoke as well.

The pool is clean with plenty of sunbeds and space.

If one thing let the hotel down it was the food, which wasn't very tasty and the choice wasn't great.

Great for families and couples alike but would say eat out if you stay there!

This was our first time to Alcudia & was our honeymoon, we took our 2yr old daughter with us for a week.

Hotel was very nice. I wish they would have made our arrival a little special being newlyweds but never mind.

The food was excellent lots of choice, staff very nice but couldn't eat a whole one.

Entertainment was very good, the parrot show was great.

We hired a car for 3 days which on the first day was nerve wrecking but soon got the hang of it, drove to Porta Pollensa & over to the caves of Arta which I can definitely recommend.

We had a trip down to the zoo a Palma which was very nice & recommend it.

The beach at Alcudia was fantastic the water was warm & shallow just what you need with a 2yr old in tow.

The only down side if any, was there are no brew making facilities in the room but that just made the excuse to drink a bit more sangria & listen to the radio on the balcony, all in all it was a lovely holiday & I would go back.

Lovely hotel. Lovely Staff. Great all round for families.

Just returned from my first week at this resort and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

The hotel was truly a family environment with plenty for both children and adults alone. Entertainment both Day and night provides ample distraction for the Kids.

The Kids club was well received and the evening entertainment was varied and of a good quality. On an evening there is a combination of children’s entertainment, along with a quiz, Bingo (With Cash Prizes) we won 114 Euro first attempts!

And finally a show starting at 10pm for best part of 2 hours. Abba, Bee Gees, Take That tributes to name a few.

Beware however if you like a lie in the morning you have NO chance, especially if you are a light sleeper. Despite the corridors being carpeted the sound of excited children running up and down first thing is inevitable. 8:30 was our usual MUST GET UP time despite wanting to lie in further on a couple of occasions.

Breakfast (8-10:30) and Dinner was very good. All you can eat buffets replenished frequently although the kitchen could be slightly more creative on occasions. The Kitchen Manger and Host always well presented and friendly.

Skytours offer the usual wide choice of trips with reps visible daily. There is an onsite entertainments manager and several Kids Club Operatives always around and looking as if they're enjoying themselves too.

The hotel is located very close to the Beautiful Beach and there are a good variety of Cafes, bars and shops close by. Most entertainment at Bars is finished by Midnight (believe this is due to local licensing laws) however if you want to carry on drinking most places will let you and there are a few late disco bars, British pubs and clubs for you to hunt down.

Most with excellent double glazing as to evade complaints from local residents.

Overall an excellent choice for families but maybe not so much for those wanting a more lively (Clubby) Type holiday. - Maybe look at Magaluf on the south of the island.

Families or more relaxed holiday for couples - 8/10.

Returned from a weeks holiday from this hotel very impressed. First impressions were of a clean friendly hotel and my partner, daughter and I were not wrong. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for three and were cleaned daily, fresh towels, etc. The restaurant was clean and had a good choice of food for all ages.

The staff were polite and helpful. The pool area was clean and spacious and were plenty of sun loungers to go round. Only concern was the fact glasses were allowed around the pool area which I thought could have been a bit dangerous with the kids running around. Entertainment was of a good quality and the staff did good job trying to cater for all ages.

Bit pricey in the hotel bar but that is to be expected. Overall thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend the Delfin to family and friends.
