Good Points:
Staff were excellent, food was, and drinks were not that expensive, as some have said. Night life was great, rooms were clean and tidy.
Bad Points:
Rooms were small and needed more air conditioning; lifts were rubbish and kept breaking.
General Comments:
I have recently visited the Delfin Azul Hotel with my daughter, her friend my son and my husband.
We were tired and had been travelling for quite a while, so we were pleased to be greeted with pleasant helpful staff. Our rooms were clean and fresh.
Food was gorgeous breakfast and then lunch. So my regards to the chef's for the quantity and quality of the food.
NIGHT LIFE AND DRINK PRICES!
Every night there was some kind of entertainment on if you stayed to watch it. There was an hour and half of the mini disco all the reps danced showing the kids what to do.
I have read many reviews about the complaints of this hotel saying drinks were too expensive, they weren’t. It was 4 Euros for any cocktail and 3 for the non alcoholic ones. For a pint of san Miguel it was 2 Euros 90. I was disgusted to find that it was the same price for the half.
DAY TIME
During the day there were activities i.e. water polo to keep some of the more active guests busy. And a club were u could take your kids and relax round the pool without having to worry.
SURROUNDINGS
The beach was just a 5 min walk down the street. And there were bars and English pubs around to.
STAFF
My regards to most of the staff i.e. the bar staff who always find time to talk to you. The chefs for making excellent food. The cleaners for the excellent standard of work. I had an excellent holiday and a recommend this hotel to anyone.
We had read many hotel reviews...

We had read many hotel reviews about this hotel before booking most of them very good but we were quite disappointed with the overall standard of the Hotel.
The rooms were quite basic and in need of re-decoration.
The hotel was clean but could have been much better with litter all over the roof.
The main problem while we were there that there was a stomach bug going round in the hotel, 6 people out of our party were out of action for some part of the holiday.
Food was ok with plenty of choice for everyone. Entertainment was also good but we will not be returning in a rush.
We arrived at Delfin Azul and...

We arrived at Delfin Azul and got welcomed. I wife and grand-daughter have been to this resort 6 times year after year.
There is always something to do. Children and Adult mini-games. The rooms were out-standing. Getting cleaned every day. There is always a clean bed to get in after watching the marvellous shows.
The food and service were out-standing. Hopefully we will be going there again this year. HAPPY NEW YEAR! To all.

The Delfin was a superb hotel which catered for all our family needs.
Food was excellent and there was something for everyone’s taste.
Accommodation was clean and nothing was too much bother for the staff.
Entertainment was from 11am until 1am every day. You never had to leave the hotel as everything was provided here.
A definite must for families. Would definitely return again.

We went to Alcudia last year but stayed at the port end which is in my opinion much nicer than the location of this hotel. However the Delfin Azul is a fantastic hotel with great food, entertainment, and helpful staff.
Our party consisted of my husband and me, my three children (aged 9, 14, & 15) and my niece who is 18.
We arrived at 9.30 in the evening and were greeted by a lovely receptionist who informed us that they had kept the dining room open for us (well impressed!). The rooms were basic but very very clean and had loads of wardrobe space (my husband even had room to hang his clothes!!).
The food was really nice - Breakfast consisted of either a full English, croissants, rolls with jam, cereal and lots of fruit. In addition you had a choice of hot drinks (various types of tea, coffee, and chocolate) and cold drinks ranging from fruit juice to milkshake!
The evening meals were great too although a nice roast occasionally with veg would have gone down a treat. I must say it is the first hotel that we have gone to that my children have eaten something other than chips.
The pool area is very large with plenty of sunbeds - there is no rush to get them as there were still plenty available throughout the day although umbrellas were quite sparse.
The entertainment was fantastic from morning till night and that is down to the great entertainment team.
The price of drinks were quite expensive but in my opinion that is to be expected and are no more expensive than in other hotels we have stayed.
I must say the first week of our holiday was fantastic but the second week declined slightly - as the "families from hell arrived". Oh my god what a difference - they overtook the pool area and you could hear their mouths a mile away - I must say though it was quite entertaining at times!
My husband never likes to return to the same resort and I thought that as he relented going back again this year I would have no chance of getting him back again. However as we had such a great time here we have already booked again for next year.
You will have a hard job to better this hotel especially if you have children. Even though the age range of our children was between 9 and 15 there was something for all of them to do (oh yes I forgot and my 18 year old niece!) she loved it too.
We also had the added bonus of meeting up with some friends who we met last year and they loved the hotel as well and have also booked for next year.
Well done Thomson for this fab hotel.

This was a great holiday! After arriving at the airport we was welcomed an was ready to leave the airport within 2o minutes.
The daily meals were excellent there is a choice of something new every night.
The room was not that big but there is enough room for what you need the room for unpacking your clothes and sleeping.
The entertainment was amazing something new every night from west life to xerox was really funny to watch.
During the day we were outside near the pool which was great to relax and sunbathe. The pool was quite big and there was walkways plenty of sun beds anytime of the day.
During the night was not noisy at all as the streets were always busy full of people or with traffic but the noise does not bother you at all during the night.
This was an all round good holiday for everyone to enjoy from families, adults, young children and teenagers.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at this hotel, booked 2 days before departure and have mixed feelings about our stay. The Delphin Azul is a pleasant hotel, with friendly, helpful staff and plenty of entertainment, but is let down by the restaurant.
ROOMS: 7/10 The rooms are small and the furniture is cheap, but nice enough and the bathrooms are spacious with loads of room to spread your toiletries out. We had twin beds and bunk beds in our room and I imagine if you tried to spend any amount of time in there with 2 children you would struggle. However, for somewhere to sleep and change it was fine. The beds are more suitable for children and the cheap thin mattress was not very comfortable.
CLEANLINESS: 9/10 The hotel is very clean and the maids do a good job cleaning the room and making beds every day. Fresh towels daily too. The resort is also clean and pleasant to walk around and the beach is cleaned daily.
MEALS: 3/10 This is the area where the hotel let itself down in our opinion. Some of the food on offer should not be used in peacetime and never in an hotel: powdered egg, tinned vegetables and smash! Good food, cooked by someone else is an important part of our holiday and we were disappointed. There are plenty of good restaurants in the resort though with something to cater for every taste and budget.
Breakfast was always bacon, fried eggs & watery beans along with the usual selection of toast, croissants, cereals, tinned fruit and yoghurt. There was little variation and the powdered scrambled egg was foul, but overall it was ok.
Dinner was a selection from 2 meats, 1 fish, 1 vegetable, 1 potato dish and salad side-dishes. There was less choice than any other hotel we have stayed in and sometimes the combination of foods meant it was difficult to make a complete meal. This may be due to Spanish chefs trying to cater for mainly English and German guests. The main problem was the poor quality of the food, especially the meat: cheap burgers, breaded chicken, beef stew.
The vegetable were tinned (carrots with mushrooms) and the mash was packet smash. Watered down soup. The fish was the same 6 nights in a row-hake-and got more rubbery each night. The salad bar often had things like beetroot, grated carrot, sweet corn with bean sprouts and potatoes in ketchup! and no salad leaves, so you couldn't make up a full salad to eat.
The desserts were always the same cake, cheap tubs of ice-cream, tinned fruit. There was fresh fruit but it was chilled and therefore tasteless, but if you took it back to your room it was a nice snack the following day.
The children's meals weren't great either. Bacon and chips for every breakfast. Dinner was chips with nuggets, burgers, fish fingers. There was sometimes pasta but not always sauce to go with it. I tried the fish fingers once and they were mostly potato inside the breadcrumbs (the kind of cheap and nasty stuff you're NOT supposed to give kids). There was calamari one day which was delicious, but an unusual choice for children.
ENTERTAINMENT: 7/10 The daytime entertainment was excellent with several things for both children and adults every day. Games, pool contests, pony rides (£) and the kids club. Quiz, water polo, scuba diving. It did mean that the poolside was noisy most of the day with music and the tannoy, but they didn't hassle you to join in.
The evening was the usual singing and dancing groups but it's not our thing so we didn't go to any of it. There is plenty to do in the resort if you prefer to go out.
The pool is freshwater so lovely to swim in and there was plenty of space for children and adults to enjoy it. Amazingly there was no problem at all with sunbeds. They stack them every night and they are not available until 9am so people cannot put towels on them. But even so there were more than enough and would be loads left stacked up all day.
There is plenty of space around the pool and there is also a small garden at one side where you can away from the noise and get some shade if you prefer.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it for everything but the food. The cheap ingredients and lack of choice really let this hotel down and it should lose a star for it. If we had been self-catering or bed and breakfast I would have rated it much higher.
It was our second time in this...

It was our second time in this resort although the first time we stayed at this Hotel. We were well pleased on arrival; the hotel looked very inviting and was buzzing with atmosphere. On checking in (10.00 pm) we were amazed to be told that they had kept the dining room open for us which we thought was a really nice gesture. Our rooms overlooked the pool area and were very clean with lots of wardrobe space and three single sized beds. The entertainment crew worked their socks off from morning till night and contributed considerably in making this one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
The food was excellent and it was the first time on a holiday abroad that my children ate something other than chips! The location of the hotel was excellent, just 5 minutes from the beach and about a 15 minute walk to the port of Alcudia which is beautiful - it has a more continental feeling and has some fantastic restaurants. The water park is about a 20 minute walk away from the hotel and although is a little pricey, is great for a change of scenery.
Our first week was quieter than the second as the kids from hell arrived (including some adults!) who thought that they owned the whole pool area. I must admit it did make quite interesting entertainment!
We have already booked to go again next year although slightly earlier in August. My husband hates going back to the same place but due to the persistence of our children we have had to give in and to be honest I can't wait!- Well done kids and well done to Thomson for an excellent holiday. See you in 2008.

We have just returned from a week at the Delfin Azul. It was the 3rd time that I've been to Alcudia, having stayed in different areas of the resort each time.
The hotel itself was good, clean, all of the staff were friendly and it was in a great location for the beach.
Meals were on the whole good, particularly the breakfast, which had the standard english breakfast, continental selection and fruit/yogurts. There was a good variety in the evening meal selections and they even have a separate children’s area - the restaurant also holds a themed evening once a week. On a couple of occasions, we felt that the meals could have been healthier!
The rooms are quite spacious and are air conditioned (air con is free) which is definitely a blessing in the hotter main season. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and soap provided.
The pool area is clean (it is cleaned every morning) but can be quite busy/noisy and even though the hotel has mainly brits staying there, we struggled to get a bed after 10am! As a result we had fantastic days at the beautiful beach, which even though was busy seemed much quieter and relaxed (2 beds and a parasol are 7euro each for the day but are definitely worth it).
The entertainment at the hotel is good with a different act each night - whilst we were there they had a Take That tribute, Abba evening, Il Divo tribute and a parrot show for the kids.
The main downside for us was the families from hell. We were on the first floor near to the lifts and found it really noisy. The parents seemed to want to sit by the pool by day and bar by night whilst their kids ran riot. I doubt that we would return even though the hotel is nice and that the children’s activities were great for my nephews who are 6 & 2.
Having been to other hotels and areas of the resort, I doubt that we will return to the Delfin Azul, mainly as we were put off by the other families there, which is a shame as the hotel has no control over who else stays at the hotel. Having been to Alcudia several times, we would probably return to some of the hotels/appts closer to the port area which seems to be a bit more up market.
We would definitely use Thomson again as we had no problems with getting to and from the resort.
First time staying here, but I...

First time staying here, but I can really sit back and say we all had a great stay and were made very welcome by hotel staff.
The food was good but as expected repeated its self after a two week stay its hard not to, entertainment good but sometimes the music was a bit loud. The entertainers did all they could to cater for old and young form bingo to kids disco.
Rooms cleaned every day and fresh towels were never a problem, reception staff very helpful and restaurant staff brilliant as well as great bar men.
Pool spotless with loads of sunbeds so no need to get down and queue although people still did I don’t known why.
Hotel very central but one thing that this hotel does need are new lifts very slow. This is a great place to stay and really do recommend for the all round family holiday.
We will be back maybe next year.

We have stayed in this resort before and loved it - about 5yrs ago and it really has gone downhill. The 1st wk at the hotel was fab. The 2nd had all the families from hell! Kids screaming all the time, parents acting like louts and letting the kids do what they want.
The hotel is lovely. Very clean and the air conditioned rooms are amazing. the air con is free too. I believe in some hotels you have to pay for it.
The staff are lovely especially pep the restaurant manager and Antonio the head waiter. The cleaners are in every day and they are very friendly.
The entertainment team are brill - jay, jo, jen, ben, Hannah, Helen and the rest of them.
The acts at night in the show bar are ok. The best ones were the parrot show, Elvis & the teddy bears, mamma mia & xerox. The kid’s mini disco is great. It’s on for 45mins. We bought the double cd for 13euros.
The pool & pool area was cleaned every night and then in the morning. On the 2nd wk though there were a lot of eye and throat infections from the pool. There are tons of sunbeds but only a couple of the adjustable ones. If you want a table with parasol you have to go out about 7.30am to get 1.
The restaurant is big and air conditioned. Breakfast can be tedious. They could do with better cereal, fresh plain milk - they used the uht stuff, stop the chips in the kids section and maybe have mushrooms and pancakes for a change. They don’t have fresh orange - its either water, orange or lemon cordial, tea & coffee.
Teatime always has a very good selection. The food is hot but the cutlery and crockery could do with being a bit cleaner.
You should check out the bikes and go karts you can hire in the resort. they are very funny to ride and are very cheap. The hydro park can be a little expensive but well worth it for a treat. We were surprised there were no lucky lucky men - the ones with the scratch cards.
The beach is only a couple of mins walk. It’s ok but gets very crowded and the sunbeds are expensive at 7euros each. (they are free at the hotel). The Germans around the resort are very ignorant and rude.
We will not be going back to this resort unless it cleans up.

We went to Port Alcudia in Aug 07. Family of 4 (daughters aged 2 and 5). In summary I wouldn’t go back. The beach was great but the Resort wasn’t what we would usually go for.
A little on the tacky side with too many brit pubs and bacon/eggs breakfasts. It wasn’t horrible, but if you like to see the country's culture, experience fine dining etc then this isn’t for you. We went to Puerto Pollensa by bus a couple of days and this place was far better so we managed to make the holiday quite enjoyable.
We stayed in the Hotel Alcudia. It was close to the main Port which was nice. The Hotel was almost OK, not quite bad enough to complain about but certainly not great. Small pool.
Food was OK but meal times were far from relaxing but we knew this in advance. The room was small and smelt badly of stale cigarette smoke - I’m sure even smokers would object to it.
I’m sure there are better places in Mallorca to visit for not a lot more money. We didn’t pay a fortune so on the whole weren’t overly disappointed.
Word of warning - stay clear from the scratch card touts and do not be tempted to be sucked in by Travelsafeholidays or anything else going on in the True Promotions offices. We wasted 3 hours of our holiday but luckily didn’t pay into the holiday club.
I have just returned home from...

I have just returned home from the Delfin Azul and I (30) went along with my partner (35) my two children (4 & 2) and two family members (15 & 12) and I can honestly say we all loved it.
On arrival at the Airport at lunch time there was a rep to greet us and we were on our way to the hotel within 15 minutes. It took over an hour to arrive but once we were there we were impressed. Straight up to our rooms, which yes are a bit small but we only used them to sleep in and so we unpacked.
We over looked the main road which is busy but caused us no problems and we slept with the window wide open every night. We then headed for the pool and it was now mid afternoon and there were still sun beds free to use and umbrellas.
The evening meal was lovely, a huge choice for the adults although the children’s choice did lack vegetables through out our stay so we fed them from the adult selection, easy.
Evening entertainment was fantastic, kids mini disco (brilliant especially Jo and Jens) then a quick bingo and then the show. Each show was amazing, we watched the Jackson 5, mama mia, xerox (which will have you falling off your seat) and loads more all of which we were on our feet dancing too and joining in.
The pool is clean and well kept although with little children be careful they don’t slip on the sides as the grip has worn away.
The beach is 5 minutes walk away its gorgeous, there is a mini market just one minute away if you go left out of hotel and the hydro water park is 10 mins walk. (Beware this is expensive 17 euros for an adult)
The only downside to the hotel is the lifts; they are rubbish, way to slow and small.
I can honestly say that I would go back again and we plan to next year and I've never done that. It has something for everyone and all ages are made welcome.
The staff are friendly and speak good English. Beware of the prices over there 2.10 euros for a small coke and lunch for 6 people on the beach (toasted sandwiches and cokes) cost us 40 Euros which soon adds up.
The hotel is predominantly filled with British tourists and this made for a good stay as everyone talked to each other. We made loads of new friends. When its time for you to leave you can (if leaving in the evening) keep your room for and extra 28 euros and the safes cost 33 euros and a fridge the same.
I would go back right now if I could. Fantastic holiday all-round.
This hotel was amazing. The best...

Lovely hotel and would recommend the Half Board option as the Buffet style food was excellent. Great choice of all courses.
Entertainment is first class with different tribute act every night. Take that and the Jackson 5 were especially good but Kool and the gang and Abba also pretty good.
Rooms are a little small and the walls a little thin but who wants to stay in the room anyway. Pool area is large enough but the pool is a little small at times for the amount of people staying in high season. Plenty of beds and Parasols.
Only gripe was the price of the drinks.
