We have just got back from the Delfin Azul. Our party consisted of myself, my husband. my mum and our 2 daughters aged 6 and 15. We had a fantastic time and i would recommend the hotel to anyone. We had read some horrible reviews before we went, therefore, we were quite worried about what to expect-shouldn`t have been bothered at all! The hotel and rooms were very clean, the food was lovely with plenty of choice(some of the reviews complained about the food-not enough choice, repetitive etc.) I totally disagree-one tea time i counted 19 different deserts and nothing was repeated throughout our stay - there are some people who just have to complain-don`t listen to them, listen to me! the staff were fantastic and we met some lovely people. The entertainment on a night was brilliant-a different show every night. There was also plenty of things to do throughout the day-killer pool, darts, quiz`s, pony rides, water polo and plenty of kids activities. My youngest daughter went to the kid`s club most days which she really enjoyed-the kid`s club staff were lovely. Alcudia itself is a lovely place and the beach is beautiful-only a 10 minute stroll away. unfortunately we can`t go away next year as we are moving house but will definately be goin back to the Delfin Azul 1n 2010-no doubt about it!! Excellent value for money.

Ideal for people with chidren. me and my husband went with our 3 year old and 1 year old boys.

Plenty of sunbed's, we could come out to the pool mid afternoon and there would still be sunbed for us. Great kids pool.

Rooms a little small but just enough room for the 4 of us and very clean. Good balcony's, enclosed enough for little one's.

Food was ok, a good selection for us and the kids. Staff very nice and friendly. Canny entertainment in the hotel, our boys especially enjoyed the Parrot show.

The only reason why I gave it a 9 rather than a 10 is because of the air conditioning, it was controlled and was only on through the night, we got a bit hot and bothered when we were getting ready to go out on a night.

Was ideal for us around the pool as there was a big grassy area, our 1 year was only crawling so we would sit on the grassy area and he could crawl round freely.

We took a trip to Marineland in Palma and the kids loved it, would well recomend it but don't book through Thomson as they are very expensive, in the resort there is a company called 'no frills' and they do it much cheaper.

Alcudia itself is an ideal place for family - very family orintated - buggy's all over!

Myself, husband and 7 year old boy stayed at this hotel for 10 days. I was pleasantly surprised after reading a few negative reviews. The reception staff were friendly, the hotel was very clean and the rooms were small but extremely tidy.

Fresh bedding and towels were supplied every day, the meals both breakfast and evening were full of choice and the food was very fresh. Alot of choice for fussy eaters!! The restaurant manager would always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. All the staff in hotel were so welcoming and would help with anything you needed.

The pool area was busy but great for the kids. We had 2 hours each day to ourselves as our son would attend the kids club. Evening entertainment was provided every night, for kids and adults. The beach which is very close was amazing, so clean and the sea was beautiful. The hotel is near shops and restaurants if you want to leave the hotel complex for a while.

We would certainly return to the hotel. People save alot of money to go on holiday these days and luckily we weren't disappointed. We haven't been back long and I am missing it already. Go, you'll have a great time.

I just returned a few days ago...

I just returned a few days ago having spent 10 nights at the Delfin. I went with my husband and two boys (8 & 3). Location is excellent, 5 min walk to the beach and reliable local bus service which we used on several occasions. We had a family room with bunk beds. For a 3 star hotel the room size was acceptable. Rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily. Friendly staff speaking very good English. There was a wide selection of food on offer for breakfast and dinner that catered for all. The standard and quality of food was good. I was a liitle disappointed with the children's buffet which consisted of fried food everyday. But then the children can still choose from the main buffet which my boys did. Drinks are expensive in the hotel, which you need to be aware of. We bought water from the local supermarket daily. If you want a peaceful holiday without kids it's not the place to stay. Ideal for families. Overall we all had a great holiday. The resort is beautiful with clean beaches. Also be aware that you have to pay Euro 4.50 to hire one sun lounger on the beach (free at the hotel).

My husband and sons aged 5 and 2 returned today from a 2 week holiday staying at the delfin and we had a fantastic time i felt i needed to write this as i expect a lot of you are concerned what to expect having read previous reviews as i know we were!

at the end of the day you get what you pay for- we considered our holiday not over priced however we did end up spending an extra £600 on snacks and drinks alone.. yes the drinks are very expensive however most people ended up buying soft drinks for half the hotel price from the spar next door and sneaked them into the complex.

if you are expecting jamie oliver or gordon ramsey to cook for you then you will be annoyed- you are going to a spanish island so expect to eat their sort of food ....when in rome etc etc. the food is edible there is a wide choice of FRESH salad each night, soup and a hot course for meat eaters or veggies, the kids choice consists of chips and fried food but my sons were also happy to eat what was on offer from the rest of the buffet. excellent breakfast- again the same stuff each morning but you can varey it between fruit- cereal -fry up toast pastries etc. coffee not so nice!

the pool is just the right size to be able to keep a close eye on the children a bit over filled with inflatables - beach = beautiful 5 min walk away. entertainment is cheesy but its a family hotel based around children and all the kids we saw loved the shows although 22pm is a bit too late for most. reps and staff lovely rooms slightly on the small size but we only slept in them too many other places to be during the day, our cases fitted under the beds good size wardrobe.

if you are a family with young children looking for a relaxing holiday you are going to the right hotel i would not recommend it for couples or older adults.

we willl defo be returnig met some lovely people very sad to come away!

just returned on tuesday, the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. the food was rubbish, if you can eat anything you will be fine, we found most things were fried and was not alot of variety, russain salad seemed to be a fav which appeared to consist of the day befores salad leftovers mixed up and covered with mayo!! we ended up eating out most days. the drinks were very expensive but this seemed the same in most places 12 euros for a bottle of bud a pint of fosters and 2 cokes. the entertainment was ok but didnt start till 10 and was only on for 1 hour, seats with a view are limited too. for the children they had trampolines and a couple of bouncy castle type inflatables that were open in the evenings but at 3 euros for 15mins the money soon runs low. another thing to watch for is the welcome meeting one of the first things rammed down your throat is the reccomendation that you pay to reserve your seats on the way home as the airport is so busy, this is nothing more than scare tactics to help u part with your money ( yes the airport is busy but not everyone is getting on your flight!!) our room was comfortable if a little cosy, we had a bunk bed and twin beds and hired a fridge, suit cases were kept on the balcony as there was no where else to put them. i read that the hotel was noisy but we didnt hear much, however our room was at the front of the hotel i would imagine the rooms overlooking the pool were a little noiser but not sure. it looks like we had a terrible time but i am just being honest, we woukld return there again but would not want to go half board!!! the beach is just down the road and easily accessable, the cost of the fridge was 3.10 euro a day i would reccomend you ask for one on arrival. i spoke to people who didnt even know you could hire them for some reason ( i knew as i had read it on here). i would have given this place a 9 if it had not been for the food!

The room was impeccably clean...

The room was impeccably clean and towels were changed every day. It was big enough for the four of us, with having bunk beds for the kids. There was no need to get up early to put towels on sunbeds, as there was ample, no matter what time you went down to poolside. The only downfall I have of this hotel is the drinks were very expensive. With your evening meal you were talking about 10 euros for four soft drinks in the restaurant and the same in the bar. This deterred guests from staying to watch the entertainment at night.

we loved the hotel, realy family...

we loved the hotel, realy family friendly. Both my us and our 5 year old son loved the entertainment. The rooms were very clean and the food was OK. there was enough beds at the pool and kids club right beside for the day time entertainment. bouncy castles and trampolines for the kids at night but you need to pay for them which the travel agent didn't tell us.

the only bad things were the busy road you need to cross to get to the beech and the cost at the bar in the hotel, its not cheap!!!

when you get to the beech its absolutely amazing, you would think you were standing in the Caribbean, honestly its that nice.

if you get the chance go to the go carts the we man loved them but they go fast

I have just returned from a 2 week stay in the delfin azul with my fiance and my 5 year old daughter. I would say this was one of our best holidays yet, from start to finish we just had a great time. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly, all went out there way to ensure you had a good time in the hotel. I was a bit wary about going after reading previous reviews about the food in hotel. I am glad to say that i shouldnt have worried as the selection was more than adequate as was the quality. During my stay my hotel room was cleaned and fresh towels left every day which was great as some hotels only do it every few days. I would say that this is the kind of hotel that you could do as much or as little as you choose. There was a range of entertainments on both during the day and in the evening, at night there was various tribute acts on after quizes and kids mini disco which my daughter loved. Although my daughter didnt make use of the kids club, you could send them for five 2 hour sessions a week for free and then you could pay 3 euros for evening sessions. My only complaints about this holiday would be that the drink is quite pricey at hotel especially if you spent all day at pool when you consider how much cheaper it is in shop next door and you cant take your own in. The resort of alcudia itself is lovely and you were just short walk away from beautiful beach and round corner from resort centre. We also liked that local bus service was cheap and very reliabe so you could visit nearby resorts. A great time was had by all and we would deffo consider gouing back in future.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic!! I went with my parents, partner and 15 month old child and would reccomend to anybody.

The rooms were clean, adequate size and comfortable and the housemaids did a fabulous job each day even tidying up after the havoc of our 15 month old baby and all his new toys!!

The food was great and after reading previous reviews i wonder what these people eat at home (Gordon Ramsey must cook for them) as i found it great and there was always something for all of my family to eat at Breakfast and evening meal.

All the staff were lovely and helpful and made our stay pleasant.

Entertainment was great (cycling parrots after a couple of glasses of wine is a must!!)

A previous review commented that the clientele of the hotel left much to be desired but i totally disagree as we met some fantastic people and yes there is children there who believe it or not do make a noise but read your holiday brochure before you go - the hotel is aimed at families and it meets its aim fantastically. Its a 3 star hotel if you want a la carte food pay for 5 star simple as!
