Pure relaxation
Thats exactly what it was-a pure relaxation holiday in most amazing hotel and surrounding area! Staying there is quite a privilage.Every room is very special and you are looked after like a royalty. Anything you need just ask and they will do everything they can to help.We stayed there 5nights. Before we got there I was slightly concerned about the heating since its winter time and at nights temperature drops considerably.Well you needend be.All rooms has central heating plus fire place. The brekfast every morning was... more
Top notch!
Very nice retreat. Offering solitude and comfort with no TV's and phones to interrupt you. our room had a fire in making it even more cosy. Didnt get to try the evening meals as they were not available at this time of year, however the breakfasts were good. Very friendly staff, each room in the hotel decorated superbly and great location. Reccomended.
Sacred House is Amazing
My husband and I wanted a special place to stay in Urgup. We wanted to stay in a cave, but with modern amenties and luxury. Sacred House far exceeded our expectations. It is an exquisitiely restored 250 year old mansion built into a hillside. The elegant candle-lit dining room and one room (ours), Anka's Lair, are caves dug into the hillside. With only seven beautifully appointed rooms, it was like staying with family in an elegant mansion. The owners are delightful. She is a fabulous chef. Dinners must be booked in advance and are... more
Coolest hotel I have ever stayed in
I am a flight attendant and I have traveled all over the world for work and vacation. This is by far the most special place I have ever stayed in. Everything is just so - every last detail and every last decoration. It is sort of gothic, very exotic. The owners are so friendly and talented. One is a sculptor and one is a cook and both the artwork and food are incredible. They even have jacuzzis in the rooms! The ambiance is very warm and cozy. They make their own "sherry" which tastes more like spiced wine, but it was sooo good. I can't... more
wonderful hotel
We just spent four nights at the sacred house and loved it. The big breakfasts were delicious and so was the one dinner we had. The staff was very attentive. We enjoyed the cherry liqueur and seating by the fireplace in the living room.
Best Boutique Hotel
The Sacred House Hotel is one of the very best boutique hotels that we've every stayed in. The 7 room hotel is decorated with tremedous imagination - every room a different theme and decor. Extremely comfortable with thoughtful additions of cookies or fruit left in our room daily - not just on arrival. Four of our 14 nights in Turkey were spent at the Sacred House. Gracious welcome and attention while we were there. The most delicious meals we had the entire time in Turkey including a 5 star hotel in Istanbul and some well-rated... more

Great, small hotel
Wonderful, small "cave hotel" with 7 beautifully decorated theme rooms. The meals were very good and the staff & owners went out of their way to provide great services and conversations. This property is definitely worth a few nights stay.
A very unique and special place
My son and I stayed at the Sacred House for 4 days over spring break 2005 and we would highly recommend this place if you traveling to the cappadocia area. We travel quite a bit and cappadocia region is very unique and worth the trip. Urgup is an excellent base to explore cappadocia and the Sacred House located on a quite side street only 1.5 block for the center of town. There are several excellent restaurants in town [listed in travel books] and a very nice turkish bath close by. Sacred House is a restored 250 year old greek... more
An Absolute Gem
I am so glad that I referred to Johansens hotel guide before booking my hotel in Cappadocia. The hotel was absolutely wonderful and the service outstanding, the owners could not have made me feel more at home. The house was converted into a hotel with a great deal of love and care, this is evident by the architecture and exquisite antique decor throughout the property. The beautifully appointed bedroom, which is individually named creates a very special touch, which was warm an welcoming. The room included a very cosy fireplace... more
