Likya Residence and Spa

This has to be the best place to stay in Kalkan ... if not Turkey! The new hotel is beautiful and finished to the highest of standards. It has the perfect location with fantastic views of Kalkan bay from either your balcony, by the pool or when dining on the terrace ... and yet is only a short stroll from the restaurants and shops in town. The rooms are light, relaxing to be in and very cool (as someone who always turns the airconditioning off). Just returned from a wonderful week at the Likya and am struggling to think of any way in which our stay could have been improved. From the warm welcome and complimentary cocktails on our arrival to our reluctant departure 7 days later, every detail seem to have been carefully thought through. We booked via the Tapestry website which included flights and transfers plus a free Turkish Bath and 'Lazy Day at Sea' (of which more later). No expense has been spared in this newly expanded hotel. With a new pool and excellent restaurant (Presided over by the ever welcoming and energetic Volkan), Likya residence was a wonderful place to spend a week. Service is great, people are friendly, the view is breathtaking and the rooms are massive and beautifully furnished. We had first tried to book into The Kalkan Regency situated above the Lykia, but was completely booked whereas the Lykia was not, this should have alerted us and indeed proved to be the point after we visited both. We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Likya Residence. We are VERY well travelled, and our usual haunts include suite level at resorts such as Sandals, and on cruises such as Celebrity Cruise lines. Initially we had been staying in Kaya in Turkey, and went on a visit to Likya to view it as a future possibility for a vacation. Suffice to say that withing 24 hours we were packed up and moved in! Wow what can i say!!! This really was the most amazing place, the hotel is totally faultless. We were treated like royalty from the moment we stepped through the door. All the staff bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. Ersin, Mustafa and Umid the bar tenders are so funny, we spent many a time having a giggle with them. We have just returned from Kalkan staying at the Likya. We had booked another hotel indepententley and did not like it so we found this hotel on our first day ,and so glad we did !! From the moment we walked through the door the staff were wonderful Denise the manager was brilliant and found time to talk to all the guests The rooms and bathrooms are very big with amazing views The spa is fantastic we had a very nice Turkish bath . we stayed here for one week and had the most fabulous time...it was blissful....the rooms were beautifully appointed with huge terraces overlooking the sea and Kalkan, beds really comfy, free tea and coffee and water in room and at the bar. Free Turkish bath and fabulous spa. Lazy day at sea on the owner's guluk and an evening dinner cruise. You can walk into town and down to the beach club. sounds iidyllic? It was! The staff couldn't do enough to help and wanted us to have a fabulous holiday.....we highly recommend it for couples

We had a wonderful week at the newly opened Lykia Residence & Spa in Kalkan. This cosy boutique hotel has amazing views over Kalkan Bay. The staff and manager were very friendly. Would thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking for a chilled out week in the sun in "relaxed" luxury.
