nice cave
Very unusual hotel experience - staying in a cave room. The hotel is beautifully set and maintained. There are endless numbers of personal touches in all of the public areas. Our room was spacious and the bathroom modern and spacious. The breakfast was very nice. One caution - there are steep hills and stairs to get the breakfast area and many of the rooms.

This hotel had great reviews and I don't understand why. The door didn't lock , the sheet didn't tuck under the mattress, there was no dresser, the jacuzzi leaked, the patio table was dirty wake-up calls were 15 minutes late and the light in the closet shone through the filigreed door all night. Our room was the last one on the property and at first I thought that a maintenace room was next door as there was a lot of debris on the patio. It was noisy ,and active. When I called to complain that we... more
Great place, friendly host and staff and the food..mmm
I was in this hotel may 2005, great location at the top of mount Esbelli, so very nice views guaranteed. The rooms are with bath, jaccuzzi or even private Hamam ( Turkish bath ) This hotel is the only one located at the top of a mountain, so I prefer it above other places in Cappadocia. I have covered almost the whole region in different travels, in total a few months. The owner and host is Mr. Haydar Haykir who is a friendly philosopher and licenced guide in the region. He showed me really special places, normally inaccessible for... more
Great Boutique Cave Hotel
Our cave room was really classy and comfortable. The views from the property were stunning, especially from the terrace where breakfast is served. The fresh jams, cheese, and olives for breakfast were delicious (there was a full spread - cereal, yoghurt, fruit, eggs, etc.). The staff was extremely helpful (in addition to picking us up from the airport, they kept the restaurant open late so that we could have dinner on arrival). You can't go wrong with this lovely inn. We found it convenient to have a car - but most other guests just... more
Amazing!
We just returned from our honeymoon and stayed for four nights at the Elkep Evi. It Is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I would go back tommorrow if I could. If this were in North America you would be charged three times the amount for the level of service you recieve. We booked the honeymoon suite, had breakfast on the terrace overlooking the entire valley every morning. Every detail was looked after by the excellent manager on staff (Ergun). I HIGHLY recommend this place.
A romantic honeymoon location
My new hubby and I stayed at the Elkep Evi for 4 nights during our honeymoon. Without a doubt, this was the highlight of our trip to Turkey. The staff is amazing, the food is fabulous and our room was beautiful. The entire staff was helpful and we certainly enjoyed the tours that they suggested. Evenings were wiled away sitting on our own private balcony or eating at their fabulous rooftop private restaurant. An unforgettable experience!!

An Excellent Experience
Since these unique accomodations are carved into the rock, the rooms are absolutely silent and noise-proof. No noises from the street, the hallway, the neighboring rooms - such a pleasure! Rooms are large and comfortabe, with a private outdoor balcony/sitting area. Bed was excellent, bathroom very good. Breakfast outdoors overlooking the valley is magnificent. Food very good. Management is serious about doing whatever they can to please guests. They take that obligation personally. The only drawback might be the fairly... more
Romance in Cappadocia
After an all night bus ride from Antalya, we arrived in Urgup, a small scenic town in the heart of Cappadocia. The manager of Elkep Evi picked us up himself. The hotel sits high on a hill above town, less than 10 minutes walk from town center. He was “sorry” that our room “wasn’t yet ready” – even though it was only 7:30 in the morning. We’d certainly had no expectations. He invited us to breakfast which is served outside on a lawn, overlooking the entire valley. The sun was bright, the morning warm; everything... more
great view, great kitchen
just let these guys take care of you, let them find you a guide that speaks english, has a car with ac, is a professional travel guide, and will take you out after the tour for some drinks. order dinner without looking at the menu, let them bring whatever they want on the table dont miss the breakfast, and please go into the kitchen and talk to the ladies if they would share their recipes on that apricot jam. drink the local wine, even if you cant read the labels.
