Probably the best hotel in Cappadocia
Assiana House is a beautiful family-run hotel that will be perfect for those who like exquisite interior and the quiet away from touristy crowds. The hotel has 5 beautifully decorated rooms; ours was a cave room with a spacious sitting area, a large comfortable bed, and a bathtub with a jacuzzi. The décor of the hotel is exquisite, including outdoor sitting areas, traditional carpets and upholstery, antique furniture and old clay pots. Every morning we woke up to birds’ chirping and were greeted by the gluttonous ginger cat Garfield at... more
charming and excellent people
We stayed with my wife in a cave room, with comfort and good services. The people were very helpfull and we could use all the premises at anytime, including internet. Breakfast was very good and in a very nice atmosphere. But mainly the owner, Mr. Mevlut Bilgic gave us all the help we needed, including free transportation to town when needed. A fabulous hotel in wonderful Cappadocia
It is absolutely not sufficient to say that Cappadocia in Turkey is one of the most beautiful and astonishing places in the world, it is a must!! Going there and being able to leave the real turkish hospitality is even better... I've discovered this small family owned hotel in a guide and didn't really expected anything... but men when I was there I felt in love with this place: great view on Urgup, romantic and beatiful rooms, great hospitality and great dinners with the family of the hotel. I highly reccomend this place, go and... more
Beautıful room and helpful staff
We had a 3 nıght stay ın Urgup at the Assıana House. The owners were always there to help us wıth whatever they could. When we arrıved late at nıght tıred and hungry, our host drove us to a restaurant that was open and then came to pıck us up agaın. We had a lovely breakfast wıth homemade jams by the owners wıfe. The rooms are cave rooms some wıth fıreplaces. On our last nıght we had a group of 10 frıends that had a prıvate dınner ın our breakfast room wıth a wood burnıng fıreplace.
Family retreat
We are a family of four, vegetarians, with two boys of high energy levels. We wanted to stay in a cave house in Cappadocia and were recommended Assiana by our travel agent. What can I say! We just found ourselves an extended family in the kind and soft spoken Mr. Mevlut, his lovely wife and his two children. Mr. Mevlut has a friendly cat, Garfield, and this rounds up his family. The rooms are tastefully done up (though the cave pension looks very deceptive from outside). We stayed in a triple room for three days and the kids just loved the... more
Wonderful Turkish Hospitality
Simple words enough can not explain the hospitality and graciousness of the hotel owner. He is a kind soul who bent over backwards to make us feel welcomed. "This is not a hotel, it is your home" is what he told us the first night, and lived up to it in every aspect. The rooms are warm and cozy....beautifully decorated, number 4 and 5 have lovely fireplaces. It's not right in town but a nice 10 minute walk down the hill to Urgup.
Charming, inviting and very helpfull
We learned to know Assiana House only by coincidence because we contacted the owner, Mevlut Bylgyc originally to stay in Asia Minor Hotel in Urgup, which he ran for years. He tolt us correctly that the latter was closed for renovation, but that he had opened a new hotel, Assiana House. The Assiana house is a little (5 rooms) but very lovely family run hotel in the old part of Urgup town where all of the spatious rooms are carved out of the rock and are all very beautifully equipped with carpets, cushions, kilims, lamps... more
what a discovery
My boyfriend and i found this hotel, late at night looking for a place to stay. We still can't believe what we stumbled on to. We stayed in a spacious suite, decorated beautifully with turkish decor and furniture. Even the bathroom was amazing. Honestly, there are no words to describe its beauty and comfort. Its located on a hill, overlooking beautiful cappadocian landscape. The owner was very hospitable. He even arranged for the excellent nearby restaurant "Dimrit" to stay open for us. The breakfast was also wonderful. The... more
Lovely Assiana House
Wonderful stay. Rooms are recently restored manteining their personality of cave houses. Great hospitality and great cooking. Price is OK. The perfect base to explore Cappadocia. Danilo
Assiana House: my favorite hotel in Cappadocia
As a Canadian living in Ankara, I often spends weekends in Cappadocia, sometimes with friends, sometimes on my own. I stayed in several hotels and pensions and I really liked most of them; the pensions's owners in Cappadocia are nice people, and staying in a cave room is a great experience. But for the last couple of times, I stayed in a brand new little hotel that trully beat all my previous good experiences of staying in Cappadocia: the Assiana House in Urgup. Because the hotel has been open only for a few months, it is still... more
