There are not a lot of rooms, so you are sure to be more than a guest for the owners : it's like feeling at home in Istanbul. The place is very nice, in the middle of the historical Istanbul, 8 min by foot from the Blue Mosquee or Haya Sophia. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the breakfasts are very good. To put in a nutshell, if I have to go back to Istanbul, I will look first for a room here!

Everything about this place was a pleasant surprise. It is new, clean, adequately spacious, quiet and comfortable. The traditional Turkish breakfast (included in the price) was generous and fresh. Our host was great!! With a refreshing sense of humour - he is almost insistent in helping you coordinate your day - offering suggestions and directions. We had an early departure. If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable guest house in a convenient and unique location, Ahmet Efendi is the place to stay. It was my first trip to Istanbul, so I had little knowledge of the city beyond what I had read in travel guides and heard about from friends and colleagues. When we arrived in Ahmet Efendi, we were absolutely stunned by the decoration of the hotel: clean, simple with a lot of taste. The bed were very confortable and we felt very much at home. Although very close to the main location (Blue Mosque and Hagi Sofia), the hotel is away from all the tourist shops which we came to appreciate after a long day touring around. Perfect place to stay in Istanbul! the hotel is new and very nice, located in a quiet street in Sultanahmed, really close to the blue mosque. Medi and his wife, who run the hotel, are really kind and lovely person, always ready to help in any occasion. They both speak a perfect English. Highly recommended!

This is a truly wonderful hotel. The number one attraction is the couple who own and manage the hotel - they genuinely care about their guests and the quality of their stay. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome, relaxed, and at home with attentive and personal service that continued throughout my stay. sadly i stayed just one week in this hotel. i love istanbul and especially this place. the hotel is set in quiet little street between the blue mosque and the seaside. a very nice married couple, who lived many years in london, opened it a few month ago. it's a small hotel with only ten rooms. everything is new, spacious and clean. in the ground floor is a living room with a integrated kitchen, where you can prepare a tee or coffee by yourself for instance. the service is so great and friendly. i'll return. why? because it's the best hotel,... more

Set in a quiet street just minutes from the Blue mosque. It has a real family guest house feel and we were made to feel so welcome and relaxed, the rooms were very clean and spacious. we loved Istanbul and when we come back we will look forward to staying here again.
