We have just got back from spending a week at the Playa Santa Ponsa; the hotel itself was very good for a two star.
It was clean, staff were helpful, and the food was good, with a choice for adults but not much for children. The hotel was good for children with pool games, a children's club and a mini disco.
The only thing we found wrong is having a front room you can expect some sleepless nights. We were at the front and there were two bars, not the sort that plays loud music, but enough chit chat from the locals till the early hours.
You also get buses dropping people off at the other hotels during the night, as well as binmen and road sweepers, we recommend that you take earplugs. After one night we asked if we could move to a room at the back, which we did after one more night at the front.
The room at the back was much better; I would stay at this hotel again if I knew I get a back room.
Santa Ponsa itself is lovely, with a big sandy beach and a lot of night life. For the younger holidaymaker you got the Irish bars, for the family there is the square with live bands.
We enjoyed going to flozzie, which is a family bar with bingo, quiz, and other games. As for eating out we went to crocadillo, which does a really good meal at a good price.

We all had a great time here. The room were lovely and clean although on the small side. Cleaned everyday and clean towels given everyday.
The restaurant was clean and the food was great - fresh and plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and good fun.
For a 2* rated hotel it was excellent - they really deserve a higher scoring.
Would definitely go back to Santa Ponsa and this hotel. The beach was beautiful and everything was on hand - no trailing around looking for things.
Overall - very clean, friendly and good food.

Overall holiday was good. We were on holiday with another couple (no children).
The rooms were basic, comfy and clean. The cleaners were friendly and courteous. Strange to see carpets in the rooms (Not sure about the hygiene with the carpets)
The location of the hotel was great, beach lovely, Santa Ponsa lovely, take the time and go a walk along to the marina and surrounding beaches.
The meals were basic, always something you could have, for the price we paid we were happy. The only complaint we all had about the hotel was the Hitler type restaurant manager, very aggressive if you made the mistake on your first visit by going to a table on your own, we all felt completely humiliated, the staff were not very nice in the restaurant apart from a couple of the younger ones.
The entertainment was good, Lulu done a very good job and we all take our hats off to her, she has a long day, and keeps a smile on her face all the time.
Pool area was always clean and tidy and you do not have any bother getting a sun lounger.
There was a party of about 15 adult physically and mentally handicapped arrived on our 3rd day and at some times they were quite frightening if they were in a mood, we felt that not enough supervision was given to them and at times they were out of control.
We would go back to this hotel and would recommend it to other friends.

Great Holiday, Hotel basic but clean and tidy. Staff Friendly and Food and Drink good.
Overall the holiday was good, for a 2 star hotel and what we paid all inclusive it was great value.
Rooms to front of hotel are quite noisy , road sweepers, deliveries etc after 4 am. But managed to catch up with sleep at the pool during the day, great pool area and no problem getting sunbed, no fighting at 8 am with towels etc, you could come down at 10 and still get beds.
Animation team were great (especially LULU- she was great with the kids, we take our hat of to her as she was there from 1st thing till 23.00) Night shows okay (Elvis was different- must have been the Hamburger years as he was Huge - but had a good voice)
Drink too strong as usual, just got an extra coke with it to water it down , but local spirits and beers were good.
Restaurant food was good, there was always plenty of choice, not the best we have been at though. Not a lot of choice for kids. The only complaint we have (we were not alone with this) the restaurant manager was down right rude. We committed the cardinal sin of going into the dining room and going to a table on our own, no one was at the door to greet us, we stood for about 5 mins and then went to a table, all of a sudden we were very severely reprimanded by this little man, we really felt like walking out as it was very embarrassing. The overall opinion of our party was that the only problem we had with staff was in the restaurant, they were quite rude , but they have the rude little manager as there Mentor it is no wonder.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly as were the cleaning staff, they were very thorough and were never intrusive. The rooms did not have air-conditioning but ceiling fans were good.
The resort itself is lovely, take time and go walks, there are some lovely bays to go swimming at and the sea is lovely and clean. Main beach is nice as well. Do yourself a favour and climb the steps at the Irish quarter , they look worse than they are to climb, the views are spectacular.
Best pub for karaoke - Jaggy Thistle, Best for eating out is the Crocadillo - Kebabs and Lasagne are lovely.
We will go back to Santa Ponsa and will go back to the same hotel or one of the sister ones, they are lovely also, you can use the Santa Ponsa park and the pionerro as well and they are just across the road.
