Just returned from out sixth visit to the Punta del Mar and very disappointed that my brother-in-law and his wife had money stolen from their locked safety deposit box. We have never had any trouble before at this hotel but the talk around the local bars is that it has also happened to other people.
The bedrooms are basic but clean and the views are fantastic. The staff are also friendly and helpful. The gentleman on reception recognised us and we had fruit and a bottle of wine left in our room. Food good and varied.

Just returned from 11 night stay, but had half our cash stolen from our LOCKED room safe. An investigation is ongoing, but we discovered that another couple had been burgled twice in the same week we were there. Something very dodgy is going on, but the staff say that only authorised staff can open these safes in an emergency. We await the outcome from Thomas Cook rep who assures us that they will pursue this very serious issue. Won't be staying here again.
- Advice: Take your own pool towels, kettle and hairdryer.

We stayed for 2 weeks at this hotel and found our time there very enjoyable. The sea-views are a sight to behold.
This hotel is situated around a 15 minute walk from The Square in Santa Ponsa.
Guests varied in age, from mid 20s up. (usually couples)
I don't recommend this hotel for younger people as the night life here is a bit on the quiet side, but that suited us fine, and it also appeared to suit most other guests.
Our room was basis, very clean and tidy. Cleaners called every day. The only things we would have liked in the room was a small fridge and a kettle. Also the beds are singles which are together...not a double.
The food at both breakfast and evening dinner was excellent, with a huge variety at all times. We could easily have a different meal every evening for the duration of our stay.
There are 3 good sized outdoor swimming pools , and plenty of space to sunbathe. The snack bar also serves a good range of food at reasonable prices.
We found all the staff very cheery and helpful at all times.
We would certainly return here without any problems.

Having read mixed reviews before going on holiday we decided to keep an open mind. My husband and I travelled with my parents who are in their seventies. What a lovely holiday we had. The restaurant was exceptionally good and the staff were both helpful and friendly. The sea view was beautiful and the hotel was in an ideal location with all the bars and resaurants within walking distance. All the hotel staff went out of their way to help guests and this added to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. A very enjoyable holiday and we will certainly return to this hotel.

We have just returned from a 7 day holiday over the Easter period, myself, husband and our 11 year old daughter and her friend. The hotel is in a stunning location. We had a room on the 5th floor with a separate double room with en-suite shower, a lounge area with L shaped seating where the girls slept, a bathroom with bath and shower over and a large terrace area. The room was clean although a bit tatty round the edges. The hotel could do with a complete refit as it is looking tired and a bit neglected. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The hotel wasn't full when we were there and I wouldn't want to be there when it is full, I suspect the dining room would struggle to accommodate everyone as on the first morning we went to breakfast we had to wait for a table to be cleared before we could sit down. Quite a few people returned home that day and from then on everything was fine. The pool area was lovely but again I suspect that when the hotel is full it would be a struggle to get a sunbed. The outside pools were very cold as one would expect for this time of year so the indoor pool was a bonus. We would certainly return to the hotel, but not in high season.

Me and my boyfriend went to the Punta Del Mar in October 2008, paying approx £150 each for 4 nights Half Board. The hotel was great. We had the most fantastic view, it was amazing, and the views alone were worth every penny. The water was a bit cold at that time of the year, but it was fine to sunbathe in. The hotel has its own private rocky beach which in October was busy, so I imagine it will be great in the summer. The hotel is about 5 minutes from The Square, which has quite a few bars in; this was closing down in October. There is also a lot of bars in the centre of Santa Ponsa. This is about a 10 minute walk with bars and restaurants on the way. Santa Ponsa itself is a really nice place, there is plenty to do and it is also 10 minutes on the bus from Magaluf/Palma Nova, where there is 2 water parks and Go-Karting. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I am hopefully going back in the summer.

We stayed at the Punta del Mar with our 3 children 17, 14, 5. The staff are very friendly, the food is nice and the rooms are spacious and clean. We were given 2 rooms next door to each other and both had really big balconies with breathtaking views. We were able to close one outer door which meant we could use the rooms as one big apartment which was a real bonus.
There is a square just down the hill which has a lot of tribute nights Westlife, Rod Stewart etc or if you really want it noisy you can walk down into the centre about 15 mins walk and its a bit like Magaluf but nicer.
All in all we had a great time and would definitely go back.
- Advice: Loved Santa Ponsa -it is a resort for all ages
- Activities: Dont go in Hawaii type bar down in centre it is a rip off!

The hotel must have the best spot in Santa Ponsa as the views are fantastic. It's a 5 minute walk to supermarket, bars and restaurants and 20 minute walk into Santa Ponsa itself. If you go to the local bars and restaurants which are 5 mins away you will find a place called The Square which has entertainment on everynight ie kids disco and bands on, mainly tribute acts but it's the best place to go if you have children and we went there everynight as opposed to going into Santa Ponsa itself.
The hotel staff were very friendly and recepition staff spoke good english. Swimming pools were excellent with views out to sea. The room was clean but the air con was a bit weak but that may off been just my room, the tv used to go one the blink after 5 minutes but i later found out you had to hire the remote control from reception! The restaurant was excellent, breakfast is a bit of a military operation ie finding a table getting your toast sorted with those bizarre toasting machines and your drinks before you even think about getting your food. At the evening meal 1830-2130 there is a very good choice of food and the desserts were plentiful and tasty, the waiters get you your drinks during evening meal and you pay them as drinks are not included in the half board package. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely go back to the Punta Del Mar.

Me and my boyfriend where here for the Easter weekend for 3 nights. Short taxi ride from the airport. Having read some reviews on other websites we knew we would have a good time.
First impressions of the hotel were clean and tidy. Staff in reception are very friendly and service is quick and fast. We were shown to our rooms down stairs in the hotel close to the main bar area. The rooms are very spacious most balconies look out over to the sea.
Hotel is centrally located up a hill. You are close to the Irish bars. Around the corner from the hotel you can find a few eateries that serve all international cuisines.
The food in the hotel is good compared to some buffet service restaurants that we have been to. The only downside is that there is not enough seating space for the amount of customer staying in the hotel. Be prepared for long queues to get a table.
Entertainment not as good as you think.
The hotel overlooks the sea, when you walk into reception you see big bay windows that over look the sea.

My friends and I returned from santa ponsa staying at the Punta Del Mar. What a place, some staff where very nice but at the reception, that was another matter. One man was down right RUDE all the time. The food was ok you would not starve. The entertainment was nil. The walk from the town was ok going but it was taxis on the road back. We hired a safety deposit box and we did not have any problems. The cleanliness of the hotel was very poor. The only good thing the hotel has is the view it's to die for, waking up every morning to that view was worth the hassle. We booked 3 beds and got 2 beds and a sofa bed we complained where given other keys to see another room in the bowels of the hotel, one of our party walked with a stick, again we said not suitable and they came up with a room on the same floor as reception and next to outside door, GREAT location but still dirty. Very dissapointed but try as they might we enjoyed our holiday, even the weather did not bother us, and we are not hard to please but this hotel fell a long way from our expectations as a holiday 3/4* hotel. Needs re- looking at very closely. We won't be back and won't be recommending it to anybody in fact quite the reverse.
