The location is great - on a lovely bay, just 5 minutes bus ride from Alcudia and less than 10 minutes from Puerta Pollensa. It took just 40 minutes in a taxi from Palma Airport as well. The setting of the hotel is beautiful - a nature reserve to the back, mountains in the distance and beautiful, well-manicured gardens. Staff at reception dealt with everything we asked of them in an efficient and helpful way. There is also a hobby club with a lady who has extensive knowledge of the island and its offerings. Our room was on the ground floor in the village area. It was large, light, modern, clean and comfortable. We had 2 single beds pushed together and a sofa bed for our son. There was a fridge and a television which had BBC and satellite channels. Patio doors opened onto a large terrace area with table, chairs, lounger and access to the gardens. The bathroom was large and modern with bath and overbath shower. The room also had air conditioning. The food was good - buffet style with good choice every evening, but after 2 weeks it got a bit samey (wouldn't anything though!). The outdoor terrace at the restaurant was especially lovely. The pool area was very nice (there is an outdoor and indoor pool), they had a great children's playground and lots of kids club activities (our son didn't go there though). We hired a car from the hotel for 5 days - very reasonable rate - and explored the island. It takes just 40 minutes to get to Palma and the NW coast and mountains are just on your doorstep. It takes about 1.5 hours to get to the caves of Drach. Each evening there was a mini-disco, and following that entertainment of some kind. It was not up to West End standards, but was fun and we thoroughly enjoyed it. 5 evenings a week the in-house team stage a show of some type - Moulin Rouge, Saturday Night Fever and Grease were some we saw; then 2 nights a week external acts come in - we saw amazing African acrobats, an Elvis tribute band and a Riverdance style show. We loved this hotel - everything about it made for a great holiday - the rooms, the location, the pool, the entertainment and the staff were all great. We would thoroughly recommend it and would definitely go back.
We'll be back!

I'd been here with my daughter 7 years ago and we had stayed in the Maris, but this time my husband and I upgraded to the Village, and asked for a room away from the road. The room was superb, and it overlooked the nature reserve so was quiet. The gardens and pools are beautiful, but at night the noises from the frogs, crickets etc is quite loud if you've got a room facing a pond. We had booked B & B, but on the first night we were too tired to venture far so we ate at the hotel, and didn't look back! We ate there every night after! The food was good, mallorcan home style cooking, loads of choice, as much as you like, excellent value for money, without having to trapse around trying to find somewhere that might just do a decent meal, as is so often the case. The breakfasts were equally good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We hire a car, but buses run regularly from outside the hotel, and we could even have got the public bus from the airport, so we will probably do that next time. Oh yes, there will be a next time! (probably not when the schools are out though, I would have thought it could get a bit too busy peak season).
Best Holiday Ever

Just got home from Hotel Club Pollentia. Had the most amazing week! Our flight times were a bit rubbish due to the fact that we booked last minute, but it also meant it was cheaper, so we weren't too bothered. A coach took us from the airport to the hotel, where we were greeted by friendly staff, despite it being around 5am! They then took us in a golf buggy to our rooms which were clean and fitted with much-needed air con that cooled us down immediately. The food at the hotel was lovely, with a huge range of breads, pastries, cooked food, cold meats and cheeses for breakfast and then for dinner there was pastas, every meat you can imagine, vegi choices, paella, and some delicious desserts and ice creams. Also, at the poolside bar there were some delicious snacks or meals available. Definitely reccommend the 'snack' of a burger and chips which was yum! The majority of the waiters were all extremely friendly and joked with us teenagers. The main pool was huge and lovely and clean, and they allowed all kinds of lilos and balls in the pool which was great for the children and teenagers. Lilos were available at the shop by the pool and were relatively cheap. The staff also organised all kinds of activities throughout the day such as table tennis tournaments and silly games and competitions for kids and adults. There was a mini disco every night which the little kids all loved, and then a show every night at 9.30 which were actually really good considering. We saw mamma mia, grease, moulin rouge, the disney show etc etc. There was a great bar which served some lovely cocktails and all kinds of other drinks. There was also a nightclub downstairs where the staff hung out once the shows were finished which allowed us to mingle with them and make friends. The hotel was only separated from the beach by one road, though it was an extremely dangerous road throughout the day and not safe for children to cross alone. Though the beach was quite shingly, once out in the sea it became very sandly and the water was like a warm bath! Also, just a short bus ride took you to the most gorgeous white sand beaches and some cute little shops and cafes. Overall we had a great week and would definitely recommend for children and teenagers though perhaps not those looking for loads of nightlife. Would definitely want to go back there next year!
Not a good start!

I have to write before I give you my comments on this hotel that the club Pollenca Resort is made up of 2 hotels, Maris and Village, I read some reports on Maris before we booked this resort and was not impressed but the Village seemed nice so we booked this. Our booking conformation came through with accommodation Village on it and we were happy. Upon arrival to the hotel we were taken to our room in a buggy and immediately as we arrived at our room I knew there had been a mistake, the room was supposed to have a terrace and it was just a porch, the room was dark and dingy and smelled strongly of damp, the toilet was leaking which was dangerous as the bathroom floor was wet and smelled of urine. I sat in tears wondering what had happened and I noticed on the glass door it said Maris! how could this be. We went to reception who were unhelpful and told us we had to sort it out with our tour operator the next day. 2 days later we were moved to the Village side of the resort which was worlds apart, modern, clean light rooms with large terraces. We finally had the holiday we paid for. The food was ok but did not cater for children and only had stemmed wine/water glasses which my 2 year old found very difficult. The hotel also does not have any baby changing facilities which means you have to change your baby on a sun lounger or go back to your room which is not ideal. The location of the resort is not ideal if you have small children and want to go to the beach as the beach opposite is very small and on a busy main road. would I go back? probably not.
OK getaway, but not a true 4 Star
from EquityKent
Overall impression of 6 days was OK/Good, would classify it as a 3 star rather than 4. We travelled as a mixed group of 5 (mid-20s). We stayed in the Maris Hotel. On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were promptly taken to our hotel rooms (which were actually more like an apartment setting only one storey high blocks A-G were linked by a long terrace either facing inside the resort or with seaview, which also faced the main road!) We were shuttled to our room by golf caddy. Our three friends were pretty much sorted, but unforunately our room smelt very damp and mouldy (due to mouldy curtains and humid rooms). With no trouble at all we were changed to another room nearby which was a little better. We stayed in the block which faced the sea. Although we had lovely sea views, we also had the noise of the main road running from Alcudia to Pollensa, which separated the resort from the beach. The room on the whole was OK, all the usual appliances were there. Expecting it to be a true 4 Star we were annoyed to find there was no kettle (you had to hire this via an outside company for 25 Euros) and you had to hire the safe in the room too (for 12 Euros). So although they list appliances/services, they are not always inclusive of price! The resort backs onto a Nature reserve so we weren't suprised to find lots of flies about! and being bitten a few times too! The beach is literally only across the road, but its a fairly busy road! Very shallow waters, about 50-100cm for at least 50 metres! so perfect for Windsurfing and paddling. On the down side, the beach is very shingly. A 5 minute drive up towards Pollensa brings you to a very sandy beach, so we drove up. Food was good. There was always a choice of meats, veggies (hot and cold salads), and puddings. As with all things, the food got better towards the end of our stay. The resort has two restaurants and we were free to choose which we attended for Breakfast and Dinner. The larger of the two was always bustling and a little hectic (felt like more choice of foods, but queues were quite long for the grill etc) so we opted for the smaller of the two restaurants which was less busy. Waitor/Waitress service was hit and miss at times, some were very attentive, whilst others ignored you! There are lots of facilities within the resort. Bike hire for a simple bike for about 12 Euros a day. Tennis, Badmington, Squash courts that you book the day before at reception. There is also a Windsurfing school, plus diving and a Beauty Farm. Our friends tried the massages and they come highly recommended. On the whole Good, yes, lots of outdoor facilties etc and easy access to resort, but be warned, although its a 4 Star, we would have placed it as a safe 3. If you are used to 4 Stars in Asia-Pacific etc, this won't come near.
Relaxing week
from tripexplorerMidlands
We have just returned from a week at the club polentia resort and wantd to tell you what we found. We have had a lovely week and while I agree with some of the comments made I feel some are a little unfair. The resort is absolutely beautiful, set in gardens full of palm trees. This makes for a relaxing haven to spend your days. The weather was fantastic too which helped. We stayed in the maris hotel part which was nice. The villas and larger rooms in the village resort part looked fantstic and if i returned i might be tempted to stay there. The resort is massive and as it is only 2 storey it goes on forever. We were taken to our accommodation on a golf buggy! On arrival the reception staff were lovely, spoke very good english and although we had missed dinner, organised us some food. Our room although small was immaculately clean with comfy beds and ample storage. The bathroom was clean and had a very good shower. It also has a good hairdryer which we didnt know about. The room was more than enough for our week. There were 2 pools. We were next to the smaller Maris pool which was good. The pools were incredibly busy and we found that all the sunbeds had gone by 9o clock which was a pain so get up early! There is a small beach across the road which is stunning. There are limited beds so again get up early if you want one. We found we went over about 6 oclock in the evening for the last bit of sunshine. The views are stunning. The views all round the resort were great. We spent the days sun bathing looking over the mountains which was lovely. One thing we didnt know either...the sports centre hires towels for your stay which was great. Shame we lugged 4 beach towels with us! Now the food... We went all inclusive so were feeling a bit nervous after reading the reviews on here. We found the food to be ok. Breakfast was a bit limited, there was always the usual toast, bacon (bit fatty), some sort of sausage, egg, tomatoes, cereal. The pasteries were nice. We tended to eat lunch at the pool snack bar where the food was great. It gets very busy here but the waiters are friendly. Dinner was ok. There was lots of fish, chicken and pasta but not much else. Just dont go expecting much and youll be fine! The entertainment at the resort is mixed. There was lots going on during the day for both adults and children. The animators are lovely and friendly. Evening entertainment for adults is poor. The 'show' isnt great and everything seems to stop at half 10! We opted for a few visits out in the evenings. We spent a night in Alcudia, which i wouldnt repeat. We also spent a night in Peurto Pollensa which was lovely, definately worth a visit. Very busy on a night which was a nice change. It cost 10 euros each way. In conclusion, this is a great holiday for families and couples wanting a relaxing get away in beutiful surroundings. We were 2 girls looking for a girlie get away and while we enjoyed the relaxation we got in the day we wished there was more to do in the evening.
Never a 4 starfacility
from Marske
Very isolated (Bus or Taxi required to town) Rooms and grounds are nice but not exceptional- we had to move out of the first allocated room the morning after overnight arrival - the room had a smell of drains (which the maids knew all about) and a tree obscured the balcony. Restaurant management seems alien to this hotel - find your own table, never seen buffet management as bad as this - we were half board but ate out rather than face the chaos that was the restaurant.- Food quality was average - Restaurant staff were at best offhand and at worst rude. Pool furniture management was non existant - sun beds and mattresses were not collected and relocated overnight, they were simply left where they were. When the rain and wind came over night, mattresses were soaked , blown into puddles, bushes and plant beds - ending up either very wet or wet and mud covered. This was the last two days of our holiday and during this time the staff made no attempt to sort or remedy this chaos. The marsh to the rear of the complex (separated by a small fence) is dangerous and when the rain came so did the smell of marsh gas. The worst 4 star facility I have ever stayed in.
Fantastic, loved this hotel
from ReviewerAberdeen
It was my father's 60th birthday and so my Mum & Dad, brother & sister-in-law and myself and my partner all stayed at Club Pollentia Maris Hotel for a week to celebrate. My parents have now visited the resort 3 times and just love coming back. The hotel apartments were fantastic, and the pool was lovely. The Maris hotel has much more couples than families, the families and kiddies all seem to go to the large pool in the village and so it's nice for a bit of peace and quiet. There was a nice little beach across the road with sun beds, much nicer on very hot days. You do have to cross a busy road but other than that it's great. There is also a windsurfing school which is very popular. The bars in the resort were really nice, although closing time is midnight which we found to be a bit early as we are in our 20's and were hoping for a bit more nightlife. We would normally just buy a carry out from the bar though and sit outside with a few drinks after closing time, which others seemed to do as well. We were half board and were very impressed with the food. There is a massive selection, and we would all take away bread and cheese etc, to make up our lunches from the breakfast buffet which no one seemed to mind. The dinners were fantastic as well, the fish especially was always was very fresh and a firm favourite. There was always a huge salad selection, hot meals, pasta, various breads, meats and cheeses so you would be hard pushed to not find something you'd like. We also tried the car hire that the hotel offered. It was very good value for money, starting from about £15 per day. The cars were sometimes a bit bashed and scratched but that was very normal in Mallorca when you look at all the other cars there, it must be due to the small winding roads! The location of the resort is also great. You are 15mins drive to Porta Pollencia, Pollencia and Alcudia. Porta Pollencia and Pollencia are lovely places to go for something to eat and wander round the shops. Porta Pollencia also has a lovely beach with loads of watersports on offer. Alcudia was not so impressive and a lot of the areas were quite tacky and full of 'Brit Pubs' which wasn't really our thing. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel entrance which has regular buses to both Alcudia and Porta Pollenca which were fab and much better than we expected. The hotel also offers the option of a card which you can use to pay for everything within the resort and you can then pay it up at the end of your stay, whenever you use it you get an updated receipt letting you know how much you have spent on it. We thought this was great and meant we didn't have to carry cash when we just wanted a day by the pool etc. Overall we loved this hotel. Great for a group holiday, or for couples. The nightlife is a bit limited but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday I would definately recommend this. Those with younger children would probably be better suited to the Village part of the resort where most young families stay.
Lovely setting

We have just returned from a holiday at the Club Pollentia Resort. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were greeted by a not-so-happy looking receptionist! He didn't speak very good English, but seemed to understand what we were saying. He took us in a Golf cart to our room which was a ground floor Maris room. I imediately noticed the damp smell to the room, but it looked clean and was modern looking. The bed sheets were damp which was somewhat irritating as it prevented you sleeping very well. Those would be my only two complaints about the place. The surroundings were lovely, the food was lovely and so were the pool areas and bars. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly, but they weren't rude! I thought the facilities offered by the hotel were brilliant. My partner and I took the hours free windsurfing lesson which was great fun. The bus running from outside the hotel was very convenient and took you to either Puerto Pollenca or Alcudia for 1 euro! This allowed you to have your independance and go off in to the villages. Would recommend the market in Pollenca on Wednesday! I had read reviews about people not liking the beach opposite the hotel, I appreciate that you had to cross a busy main road to get to it, but we found there was hardly anyone on it - no screaming kids! Sun loungers were always available and the beach was clean and the sea nice enough to swim in. We also found that there was a fairly strong wind coming off the sea, but it was very much welcomed when sun bathing as you never got too hot. I preferred the beach to the ones in Puerto Pollenca as it wasn't as crowded and you don't have to pay for sun loungers. All in all, a lovely, relaxing holiday with lots on offer to keep you amused.
Pollentia Club resort
from PJK2009
We stayed at the Pollentia Club Resort summer 2003.. Be aware that there are two types of accomodation at this hotel and a lot of people get caught out as some of the brochures do not make it obvious. Several people while we were there arrived and were assigned a room at the Maris after assuming they had booked the 4 star accomodation and had to pay to upgrade. The 4star accomodation which is what you see in most brochures is based on the villas. We thought we had booked the 4star rooms but were allocated a room in the Maris which we found was smelly, dark and dingy and not really up to what we would expect. The hotel rated it a 3 star superior but it didn't look like that to me - in my opinion it would be very lucky to get a 2 star. We upgraded to the 4star section immediately at a cost of 350 Euros Funny place. On the plus side - Beautiful gardens, very nice food, lovely pool but in our experience the rooms are not properly cleaned, even in the 4 star. Our 3 Year old boy wet the bed while we were there - we threw the sheet in the bath to make it clear that it needed to be changed. The cleaner took the sheet out of the bath and put it back on his bed. It took 4 days and a number of complaints to get it finally changed. Not really the standard of service I would expect from a 4 Star. Generally the standard of the room cleaning was very poor in our room and the staff at reception are not helpful when it comes to sorting problems out.
