Sirkeci Konak Hotel

We found this new but traditional style hotel to be an excellent place to stay. The rooms, particularly the de luxe room in which our friends stayed, were spacious, aesthetically pleasant and with every amenity. The hotel is minutes walk from the main sights of the old city and also close to the waterfront of the Golden Horn. The hotel was fantastic, the room very beautiful and the whole hotel staff really friendly, they've always helped us when we needed something. The only two annoying things were on the one hand the noise of the building site to enlarge the hotel (but that's actually inevitable, and it wasn't so bad!). The other thing was the too strong air conditioning in the breakfast hall and at the reception. We stayed at the Sirkeci Konak recently. Although the hotel is small compared to international chains, the facilities they offer can make you say "Are you really sure this is a small hotel?". A swimming pool, restaurant, and bar usually helps classify the hotel as a medium sized one, but they even have a turkish bath! The rooms that the hotel offers varies, from compfy standard rooms to larger suite rooms. Very nice hotel, with charming staff! Very good location, large rooms, beautiful wood, flowers, etc.... We had much pleasure sleeping and "living" there 2 days at the end of our second trip in Istanbul! Enjoy it!

We stayed at the Sirkeci Konak Hotel in Istanbul during July 2007. Everything about our stay there was perfect from the beautiful room with welcoming flowers, and little pot pourri sachets on our beds down to the friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfasts were excellent but of particular notice was the attention to cleanliness everywhere. There would be many excellent hotels out there but the staff clearly differentiate this hotel from others. What stood out for us is that they treat their fellow colleagues as friends - a good indication of the team work and customer service they provide to their guests. Truly an excellent experience at this really clean, classic "antique" style hotel. We were welcomed at the hotel with apple tea and stayed in a nice triple room with a balcony. Refreshingly, the third bed was a real bed, not the usual half flat rollway beds. The breakfast was overwhelming, tons of choice and all of high quality and really lovely service. This hotel is fantastic. Situated in the old town, it's close to most of the attractions such as the Blue Mosque & Topaki. 300m away from the train station means it will take you ~5min to get to the hotel upon arrival by train. The room is spacious & newly decorated. The staff is friendly & professional. Breakfast is good with a variety of choices. This Hotel was an amazingly good choice: it's brand new, spotlessly clean, with spacious, beautifully decorated rooms, a superb location right in the middle of all of Istanbul's most incredible sights, and with an incredible good & extensive breakfast buffet.
