Large and spotlessly clean hotel in a lovely peaceful location in Portals Village. Bedroom furniture is rather large which made the room seem a bit small. The a/c in our room wasn't working and reception sent someone to look at it immediately (they just seemed to give it a... more

Back again this year to see the modest refurbishment that has upgraded/refreshed the hotel. The exterior has been repainted in red and cream and internally it appeared the bedroom furnture had been modernised with a coat of white paint. Main pool now seems to be salt water... more

Absolutely fantastic. We actually went on our honeymoon but took the kids!! My daughter is disabled and they catered for our every need. It didn't cost much from the airport in a taxi about 30 euro(saves on transfer fees). The bedroom was HUGE. The double bed was more... more

The hotel is quite large and does not have a lot of facilities considering its size. In December the outside pool and bar was obviously closed. There was an indoor heated pool which is quite small. The breakfast room is large and clean and there is a lot of choice from... more

Great Hotel, But
Stayed in the Marina Portals in June 05, very clean hotel, good location, bedrooms are of above average size with sea views, (try to avoid rooms 216-230 as they are under the dance floor) restaurant of 4* standard in appearance, but 3* choice of food, very good pool and garden area (shame pool bar not open on hot summer evenings). Now for the bad points: - car park very small for size of hotel (about 15 cars), with very little off street parking, air con in bedrooms inadequate, very quiet hotel in the main, however, between Thur and Sun of our week stag and hen parties (ashamed to say they were British) were in residence and sleep was at a premium.
Excellent Off-Season
Visited December so quiet, which was great for us. Room excellent with (distant) sea view. Breakfast good, but ate main meals down at Marina where there is excellent choice of restaurants. Only problem with room was its proximity to stairwell and lifts which were quite noisy at times, imagine very noisy peak-season. Try for rooms along the corridor. Parking OK for us as so quiet, but is very limited. Would stay again, out of season. Overall good experience.
Check parking and fridges both in short supply
Just returned from the hotel. the rooms were double. the beds oversized for the rooms firm but clean. The room cleaning services left something to be desired, the cleaning was not thorough. If you have a car you may have to park offsite and even that is difficult. The walk to the beautiful marina is steep and not suited to infirm or very young children. the restaurant had excellent breakfast choice but evening dinner was limited and not much used. The entertainment is loud and can be heard easily in bedrooms some distance away. It seemed to quieten about 11pm I did not use room service but it seemed pricey. If you want a fridge these are in very short supply but the hotel says this is being improved. if you take a baby requiring chilled botttles etc check availability and ensure a fridge is avaialable. The overall outdoor facilities are very good. pools clean and the small heated indoor pool very warm. The children's play area sand is filthy. Dogs had defacated and it remained unmoved for days. It is unsafe for children to use this area with their hands for obvious health and safety reasons. Dog foul carries a risk of worm to the eye and potential blindness.
Excellent holiday
Had an excellent holiday last summer with my boyfriend at the Marina Portals. Room was a great size, clean and tidy with a nice balcony. We really liked the pool too because it was never crowded. We often bought snacks and drinks and the pool bar and found the staff there and throughout to be helpful and friendly. Breakfast was also good and stayed open til 10.30 so no rushing about. Read a comment below about the water etc being expensive in the hotel. I think this is to be expected of all hotels but there is a very cheap supermaket 200 yrds down the road which we used to stock up on water and alcohol for the balcony. Every evening we walked down to the Marina for dinner, our favourite restaurant was wellies. Great for people (and boat) watching. A new bar had just opened (can't remember the name). Portals Nous is very close to Palma also so we spent a day there. Overall this is a great holiday for couples and families with older/teenage childre.
Great Breakfast
Just returned from a seven day break over Easter arranged through Last Minute. Everything when according to plan. This hotel is very good indeed, though decorative styles once you get past the modern front door is not reflected inside ranging from neo-classical to Spanish rustic: rather confused. Very clean and tidy, friendly staff, good coffee and an unbelievable and good selection at breakfast from 0730-1030. Serve yourself Dinner seemed a bit of a scamble though so we eat out mostly. Surrounding Restaurants are cheap/good value and of excellent quality on the whole. Small German Restaurant across the road was 1st class. Beds firm but OK however the Pillows were awefull. Marina is ten minutes walk down hill. Very good bus links to Palma 1.3 euros and Portal Andratx 1.5 euros. Beware. If you have any disability that prevents you from going up and down hills and stairs this is not the Hotel for you. Of course there are lifts but the surroundings are not really suitable for anyone with a disability. We enjoyed our stay very much indeed.
Spring break
I just had a relaxing 5 day break at the Marina Portals Hotel. The Hotel is clean, easy to find. Just take to Motorway towards Andratx and exit at Portals Nous (about 15-20min drive from the airport all motorway). At the end of the exit slip make a left and at the roundabout take the 9 o clock exit. After 1 Minute the Hotel will be on your right hand side. It's a large complex just at the road so you can't miss it. The Hotel has a small free parking area for about 15 cars. The Hotel is not near the beach but has a nice outdoor-pool and a small indoor pool. You can take a short walk to the Marina (about 10 Minutes if you are a fast walker) and be amazed with all the boats. This is where Mallorcas "in-crowd" hangs out. Back to the Hotel- it has a Card door-lock system so you dont have to carry a large key in your pocket. I think all rooms have balcony. The dinning room can be a little crowded at peak times. To be honest I expected quite an elderly crown for my visit in March but the Hotel is very popular with cyclists so we had quite a mix. As for the star rating the Hotel definatelly lives up to a 4 star property in a Holiday resort but would propably not get 4 stars as a city Hotel say in London or New York. It has satelite TV and a good choice of food. I might visit again.
Peter String-Fellow
Just landed yesturday after 5 days over Christmas in the Marina Portals Nous in the stunning Portals Nous region of Majorca. Fantastic hotel, Clean and warm rooms with excellent bathrooms modern and large. Sky T.V and a good view of the coast line and the Marina. The breakfast was great, everything you could eat at 9am in the morning, even grab some bread and pop down to the marina to feed the fish there massive and all fight over it. As we was down the marina Chrsitmas Day morning we saw Peter Stringfellow who I know loves Portals Nous and has a yacht down on the marina, this is the 2nd time we have seen him, as he was walking about last year. Would really recommend this hotel what ever reason you visit.
Lovely resort
We booked a week at the start of October in Mallorca, and chose Marina Portals hotel via Expedia. Having never been to the island before we wanted a 4 star hotel, close-ish to the airport and on B & B basis. The taxi from the airport took about 15 minutes & cost 25 euros plus a tip. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were lovely. There was a problem with the plumbing in some rooms along the corridor on day 3, but the reception staff were great and offered us a new room before we even considered complaining. The resort is lovely, quite peaceful and relaxed at the time we were there. The marina is fantastic, and the small beach was gorgeous.. although the steep hill would probably be difficult for some people returning to the hotel after a hard day sunbathing. We loved the local bars and restaurants, very reasonable cost, and good quality food (especially Jose's opposite the hotel). The local bus stop enables you to easily get into Palma/ Palma Nova/ Magaluf etc.. although the 'time table' is a bit hit & miss.. but standing in the sunshine is no great hardship! Mallorca is a lovely island, and we will return to explore more of it in the coming years. The Marina Portals hotel is a great base, and I highly recommend it!
Relaxing with the jetsetters in portals!
Have just returned from a weeks holiday staying at the Marina Portals Hotel. What a relaxing break! The hotel has a typically Spanish feel to it and you can immediately start relax. Our room overlooked the pool with views out to the sea and of the mountains. Within a walk of 5 minutes you arrive at Puerto Portals, which has many fantastic restaurants and shops. We tried Wellys and Cappucino is really great for lunch. We were on a half board basis, but ventured out for 2 meals. The first to Barnacle at Puerto Portal, many fish dishes on the menu and wine, service fantastic! The other a restaurant close to the hotel Los Molinos, run by a German couple very nice and traditional food. The hotel provided a much needed break. The pool area was exceptionally clean. There were free sunbeds, however the pool was a little cool but very refreshing! Drinks in the hotel are cheap, less than £5 for a bottle of wine with evening meal. We booked with alphabeds.com and got a good deal. Transfer from airport around 20mins and under 30euros. Altogether a really special hotel, where you can unwind and get away from it all!
Relaxing, family friendly hotel
We stayed here over the August Bank Holiday but the hotel still maintained a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of room around the 3 pool areas. The kids were so happy splashing around in the pools, playing in the play area or playing crazy golf we only needed to venture out in the evenings, the marina which is just a 10 minute walk down the hill has a great variety of restaurants, and is a great place for people watching! We had a family room which is actually 2 bedrooms, great when you have 2 kids with you ( aged 2 and 5), the rooms are immaculate and spacious. This hotel is very child and baby friendly, whilst retaining a stylish feel.
