a wonderful stay at hotel canada
from healers
The owners and staff at hotel canada made us feel very welcome and helped us out in all kinds of ways. The rooms were very clean and had lovely hot showers, the pool was an added bonus as were the free cycles which gave us independance to visit the beach, which is clean quiet and beautiful. Overall we had an excellent time and would go back again at the drop of a hat, we thoroughly recommend this hotel and area for anyone who wants a relaxing get away from it all holiday.
Canada Hotel is wonderful!
from MegBenl
Our family had a fabulous time at this delightful hotel thanks to Carrie, Saban and the other wonderful Canada Hotel staff. The setting is idyllic with the lush vegetation, hammocks, spotless air-conditioned rooms and a dining area around a large swimming pool. The hospitality at the hotel was amazing and all the helpful advice was so appreciated. We had half-board at the hotel and are so thankful that we did because the food was simply amazing. We can’t recommend the Canada Hotel enough. It really feels like a home away from home.
a little piece of heaven

There are few unspoilt parts of the world left but this is one of them. I hope it continues like this. Cirali is a wonderful, undeveloped, hidden away resort, so far off the international tourist map (I am sure the Turks want to keep it all for themselves). Its beach was recently voted on of the worlds top 10 beaches. I would not go quite that far as it is a little stony but the beach is long and in many places, deserted. The mountainous back drop to the beach is stunning and sea inviting. The small selection of mainly beachside restaurants are more than enough and deliver a surprisingly high quality fare. The Canada Hotel is a 5 min walk out of the village and is an excellent base. We stayed half board, which is unusual for us and did not regret it the food was of a very high standard and varied. The turkish meses were particularly tasty and we seemed to have a different variety each night. The room was fine for a relaxing break, with the air-con being a lifesaver at times in the 40+ degree heat. Staying at the Canada was like being individual guests of a turkish family (with an canadian twist). Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Being given the keys to the family car to go see the unmissable Chimera (natural flames comming from the rocks) was just one example of their unforgetable hospitality. I dont think this comes as part of the package usually though! The pool was wonderful and not busy. The hammocks in the shady garden were a welcome respite from the strong sunlight. We visited the newly opened cable car at Tahtali, with superb views over the whole area. Cerainly worth a visit if you have a car. The roman Colliseum at Aspendos, the other side of Antalia was also stunning. Dont expect lots of nightlife in Cirali as there isnt any, but if you want a complete relaxation, away from it all, this is the place to come and I would recommend staying at the Canada
Perfect start

I have to agree with the previous reviews. The Canada Hotel is great. Probably made greater by the friendly hosts Carrie and Saban. We visited Turkey during a heatwave with daily temperatures around 46C. The small, clean rooms in the Canada Hotel had great air-conditioning, comfy beds and the wonderful swimming pool was a god send. Saban's cooking is delicious and Carrie was so attentive. Her local knowledge made our stay more interesting. Despite the extremely hot weather we had fun following the ancient aquaducts through the Olympos forest. A real Indiana Jones holiday. After our stay at the Canada hotel we travelled onto Bodrum for a week on a gulet. We loved it all and are busy planning our next Turkish holiday.
Canada Hotel is the best!!!
from van2go
The 2 of us were in Turkey during May and travelled along the S coast for about a week. We did ALL of our bookings based on TripAdvisor reviews and advice, and we would have to say that we were really not disappointed at any point. We had a wonderful trip and we really feel that all of the good TripAdvisor advice about Turkey was a key part of this -- especially when it came to the Canada Hotel... One of the highlights was our stay at the Canada Hotel in mid-May. We were there for only a few days -- wish we had more time!!! -- and the place is an absolute treasure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there -- Carrie, Shaban, Mustaf and staff were wonderful, very helpful and gave us excellent advice. Our 2nd floor room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, facing the pretty garden and looking out towards the high hills to the west. Shaban did the cooking for dinner/breakfast (we thankfully opted for the 1/2 board option!) and he did an excellent job -- the meals were superb -- great mezes each night, excellent grilled trout one evening and kebabs another... the weather was a bit changeable while we were there, but we did have a couple of meals on the outside terrace by the pool, which was really nice. We didn't arrive by or rent a vehicle, we arrived by bus from Antalya, which stops on the highway to drop you off at the Cirali turnoff. We had no problems getting a dolmus from the highway down to the Canada Hotel, or getting around, and when we left, Shaban gave us a hand getting us back onto the dolmus so that we got the right highway bus to continue on west... We thoroughly enjoyed the short walks into town, along the beach, and around Olympos and Olympos village. Spectacular scenery and beautiful vegetation. The hotel is an easy walk to Cirali beach. It takes maybe 12 minutes of walking to arrive at the middle of the beach, where you can turn right and then head another 10 minutes or less to the beach entrance to Olympos (not to be missed), or you can turn left and walk the beach toward Cirali and a string of beach-front restaurants (good for a mid-day Efes stop)... We were sad to leave but will go back to the Canada Hotel. It is a great place!.
Paradise with a Turkey flavor

The hotel is everything people say it is. I was a bit nervous about staying in a hotel named Canda in turkey. Carrie is a Canadian but lives in turkey with her husband, Saban. It was a nice balance hearing about Turkey from an expat (carrie) and getting to know the wonderful Turkish staff. Saban supervises the fabulous food at dinner, some of the best we had in Turkey. The whole area is laid back and simply gorgeous.. We spent two days biking to the beach, hiking to Olympus in the evening. Wish we could have stayed longer. I think having rooms on the second floor facing the garden are the best. Nice little patios to sit on and gaze out over the trees to the mountains. Carrie and saban will do their best to make your stay perfect. Carrie even recommended and booked hotels for us in Selcuk. (Hote Akay) which was wonderful. Having driven the whole coast, this would be the spot I woud recommend unless you are into nightlife. Much of the rest of the coast is much more builtup.
cANADA hOTEL IS GREAT

Very enjoyable stay. The owners were great, made us feel at home. Borrow a bike and take the short drive to the beach at sunset, beautiful. Our travel agent picked this hotel and we would definitely return. Have your dinner there as well.....eat by the pool under an awning and enjoy the surrounding mountains.
Can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the Canada Hotel in early June 2007 and realized we had stumbled on an incredible find. Cirali is at once both unassuming and stunningly beautiful, where mountains, lush vegetation and the sea surround you and are the norm (as opposed to some of the more built-up resort areas along the coast). The hotel, just a short walk from a sweeping pebble beach framed by mountains, is so relaxing that we were at times tempted to just hang around and read a book on one of the hammocks beneath the shade trees. But Saban and Carrie have free bicycles to borrow, so we gladly took advantage of them and explored the area. And what an area! Apart from the beach, the are the ruins of Olympos, which are very accessable and yet wonderfully hidden among the trees behind the beach. And of course there is Chimera, the ancient site where flames rise up out the ground -- a perfect moonlight excursion. What really made our stay special, though, was Canada Hotel and its staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the multi-course meals by the pool were fantastic. The peace and quiet of the surroundings lulled us into a relaxing rhythm that we hope for in a vacation but don't always find. Most of all, the warm hospitality of Saban, Carrie and the rest of the staff gave the stay a wonderful human touch and made us feel more than welcome. We look forward to our next visit!
A place to come back to
from Tom71
It's no coincidence this hotel is so highly recommended on this site. The owners, the staff, the rooms, the pool, the food... it's all great!! The hotel is a bit isolated, providing a place were you can relax and chill out. Nevertheless, the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the town center and the beach. Taking the half board option really is a must, it would be a shame to miss the fantastic food! Saban, Carrie, Mustapha and all the others are at your service all day long and allways with a smile on their face! Great place, hope to come back one day!!
Our Favorite Hotel in Turkey
from sandiegobill
This hotel is a gem—the favorite of my four weeks in Turkey. Our spacious room was spotless, with a balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. The bathroom had just been completely remodeled. The pool is one of the best of any hotel I’ve stayed at. We walked to the beach and to the ancient city of Olympos (about 10 minutes away). Saban, the owner, is so friendly and helpful. He drove us to the Chimaera and took us on an eight-mile hike on the Lycian Way. He gave us bikes to ride around the beautiful countryside. But, best of all, he’s a wonderful chef. He made special breakfasts for us each day (pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs). He made us three of the best dinners we had in Turkey, using all fresh ingredients (including herbs he picked from the mountains). Saban, who grew up in Cirali, speaks perfect English. We had great conversations with him about Turkey’s culture and politics. Our three-day stay in Cirali was a highlight of our 4-week trip to Turkey.

We almost didn't write this review because we wanted to keep Cirali & the Canada Hotel to ourselves-but that would be soooo wrong! We could waste time talking about Carrie & Saban, but all the other reviews tell you how fantastic they are. We could tell you about the... more
