Sultanhan Hotel

Beautiful, elegant, comfortable boutique hotel in the center of the Old Town. Short walking distance to the metro, Blue Mosque, Haggia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar. Very nice buffet breakfast at the rooftop restaurant with 360 degree views. Lovely room with small balcony and decor. Good size marble bathroom with very nice toiletries. Pleasant and helpful staff. Free internet and wireless laptop (no need to bring your own). Definitely a 5 star in an intimate boutique hotel setting. Worth the small splurge.

We found the hotel through the Internet. The Reservations people were very responsive and welcoming. They arranged a car to meet us at the airport upon arrival. The hotel is lovely, a comfortable lobby, rooms are new and beautiful (not spacious but comfortable). The restaurant is on the 5th floor with views. The chef is excellent. The staff is all wonderful and we got to know them all well during our 8-night stay. The concierge is excellent. Just back from spending 3 nights at the Allstar Sultanhan Hotel in Istanbul. What a fantastic city!!! The hotel is in a great location right in the middle of the main tourist area. Plenty of shops, resturants and bars about. We arrived at Sabiha Gokcen Airport which is about 45 Mins from the hotel. A taxi from the airport cost 95 YTL (about £38) but the driver had not got a clue were he was going despite me providing a map and photo of the hotel. My daughter and I stayed at the Sultanhan Hotel in Istanbul last week, and I cannot think of one negative thing to say about it. It was wonderful. We got a good rate by booking with the hotel direct. The hotel provides a complimentary transfer from the airport, and their driver was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us a short guided tour of Istanbul on the way to the hotel. I have just returned from Istanbul where I stayed at Sultanhan Hotel and I really eanjoyed the stay. This was my first stay in Istanbul Old City Area and therefore I can not compare this hotel with many other competiters in neighboring districts. But I do recommend this hotel very strongly. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff are charming and helpful. Breakfast , although basically no change everyday , I could find very tasty! Of course the location is wonderful! I am sure that I will come back to this hotel!

We booked this hotel a few months before our stay so got it for a really good price. Because of this we were expecting it not to be that great, but were actually very pleasantly surprised. This is a good quality hotel with very high standards (especially for Turkey), and would compare very favourably to many expensive 4* European hotels. Enjoyed the stay in this modern & new hotel. As the name indicates it is ideally located in the Sultanhan quarter to visit all the classics from Istanbul (Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Bazaar, ...). We stayed three nights for a long weekend and were very pleased with what we found. The location is just perfect in easy walking distance from the main attractions and a busy shopping street but still very quite. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful (ask Orhan Karakas at reception and you will get help). We stayed at the Sultanhan for 5 nights from January 21st and enjoyed every minute. Orhan, on reception, was charming and very helpful throughout our stay, especially when excessive walking of the steep hills and uneven pavements destroyed one of my shoes! The staff at breakfast were attentive and pleasant. The views from the platform above it and the breakfast room itself set the day off to a wonderful start. The buffet breakfast was varied.
