Star Cave Hotel & Pansion

Our cute little cave was clean enough, apart from the toilet, with the bin not emptied and skid marks from previous guests. Not big deal, but an ommision. The bed linen was new and clean, but the bed springs were quite uncomfortable - solved by putting a spare duvet under the bottom sheet. It was suposed to be heated, including hot shower, which was great on the first night - but then stopped. We arrived at Goreme in Nov 2006 without a booking and I inspected half a dozen hotels before choosing the Star Cave Hotel. I am travelling with my wife and two children aged 7 and 9. We have had 5 overseas holidays together and I have backpacked my way around the world to 35 countries, so I have stayed at hundreds of budget and middle-priced hotels. One of the best places I ever been! Cappadocia is amazing just like the Star Cave Hotel where we were staying. Rooms are great, clean with a beautiful view. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. The family who runs the hotel are wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Ramazan is just great! He has information about every thing you need (tours, balloons, where to go out...) and he is always there to help you in any way. I highly recommended to everyone!

What a find, having stayed in another place for 2 nights I decided I wanted to stay in a cave - so I wandered around the village and found this wonderful hotel. Ramazan is a great host, the rooms are very good with great views and a lovely sense of tranquility at the south end of the village.

I cannot say enough good things about Star Cave Hotel and Pansiyon in Goreme. It was my second time in town and I had stayed in a couple of other places before and Star Cave was by far my favorite! The owner, Ramazan, his father, Ahmet, and all of the staff were so warm and made me feel so welcome! Star Cave is truly imbued with the much fabled 'Turkish Hospitality'! The cave rooms are cozy and comfortable, the breakfasts delicious, the rates well within average and the view outstanding! I would recommend it to anyone!

Star Cave Pansion-Hotel is my favorite place in the region. I have stayed in a few other pansion-hotels in the area and Star Cave offers a beautiful, magical place to stay with great breakfasts, beautiful bathrooms and excellent service that makes it outstanding in its very reasonable price range. This place is a hidden gem!!! Ramazan, the owner, and his family were extremely welcoming. I enjoyed long conversations with Ramazan's mother, even though she did not speak any english (& I could not speak any Turkish).The room I stayed in was great at a very reasonable price. Our stay at the Star Cave Hotel was a major highlight on our trip to Turkey in December 2007. Ramazan, the owner has done a stellar job of upgrading and extending the hotel with modern fittings and supurb furnishings throughout. I arrived in Goreme late at night and checked into a popular, well-rated (by the budget guidebooks) hole in the wall. It was awful. So, the next day, I looked at several options around town, and the clear value for the money (of those I visited) was the Star Cave. We moved to the Star Cave Hetel and Pension from another, less luxurious cave hotel. We got a double room with a lovely stone bathroom on the upstairs balcony for $25 a night. It couldn't have been better. We sat out on the terrace at night and drank Cappadocian wine. Given the awesome view, we watched the balloons and sun rise in the morning. Ramazan, the owner, was accommodating of our every need. He booked our tour, which turned out great. He and his family also made the wonderful Turkish breakfast, included in the room cost.
