made to feel like one of the family
from treeofwhittlesey
had to write to say what a great place the sirca was. We had two great weeks there and was made to feel part of the team , nothing was to much trouble for them. Look up ozzy, memhet and mustafa we will be back next year to push you in the pool!!! Yes it is true you do only get one loo roll as you are self catering you buy your own. Food is really good at the apartments and if its not on the menu just ask they will soon prepare it.The meals at night come with a special bread for starters and a fruit cocktail for pudding so food bills are kept low. We tried quite a few restraurants all excellent food and great service best deals of the seafront. You can wonder down and hire a boat for the day with a skipper and lunch and tea included. All sun loungers are free on the beach. Really i should not be telling you this as i want to keep the apartments, staff and the peace and quiet to my self, but oh well i will be there again next year so enjoy.
GREAT HOLIDAY
from weemar
Just returned from our third visit to Bitez and first to Sirca. How I wish we had found Sirca sooner, the boys were always on hand without being in your face and the staff could not do enough for you. I will certainly be back this year and next.
Fantastic little set up with the personal touch
from Superma
Well I had read all the reviews and decided that my family and extended family (6 adults and 5 kids) would go for May half term. Deniz and his boys met us off the coach, took all our luggage to 4 different apartments and gave us a very warm welcome. The apartments were great and as there are only 24 in total, they all overlooked the pool. We all unpacked quickly and headed for the bar. Mehmet and Ozzy were great - we had wonderful cocktails and the menfolk loved the beer - £2 per pint. The kids all got cocktails with sparklers and decorations - they loved it!! We decided to eat at the Sirca restaurant that night and we were very glad we did. The food was fantastic and their bread was the best we had all week!! Bitez is a great little place, having been to Turkey 3 times before, I was very impressed with this great family resort. So much so that we have booked to go back to the Sirca in September - this time 14 of us! Watch out!!
Arelaxing break for 2
from Miiaa
I had booked a break for my best friend and I for her 40th Birthday, was let down re the accomodation and ended up staying at the Sirca for 5 days in mid October 2007. It turned out to be one of the best moves of the holiday. Deniz, Mehmet and the gang treated all of the guests like royalty whilst we were there. The apartments are some of the nicest that I have seen in Bitez. The staff will do anything for you - ask if in doubt?! Previous people have knocked this accomodation for things like having to buy your own toilet roll - this happens in virtually all self catering accomodation in Turkey.( you are self catering- what do you expect!?!). We will be back to the beautiful Bitez in July and cannot wait! Denniz and the boys at the SIrca better watch out for the 5yr old blonde whirlwind! Book it and enjoy...
Relaxing little niche in Turkey
from teenager58
1 week stay with family 5th > 12th May 2008 3 apartments allocated. Very clean with all basic equipment that you needed. cleaners attended every day and even washed any dishes left in sink. (Leaving them was unintentional but a nice surprise to have them done). Pool area and sunbeds were very good as was the bar and eating area. Had breakfast each morning which was convenient to us rather than prepare ourself. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Denniz, the Manager, was very good and obliging. 10 mins walk and you were at the main beach of Bitez. Promanade lined with shops/restaurants. Each restaurant had it's own allocated beach area and provided free sunbeds and copious seating for free. However it is only common courtesy to buy a drink. You can use the beds all day long and there is no hassle from the staff. Walking along the promenade you will be invited to try each restaurant and will be given numerous leaflets. Our best 2 were Golden Spoon, fronted by Adam and a charming youny lady, Seyda. Also The First Stop fronted by a very attentive Safak. Both places offered a mix of food style : Turkish, Indian, Mexican, Chinese and Pizza's etc. Price range between £8 to £10 per person including drink. Buses run about every 10 mins to the outlying areas, Gumbet/Bodrum and the fare one way is YTL 2 to 2.5. Go into Bodrum and you can get buses from the coach station for your other destinations. The season had just started when we arrived and we all found it a very relaxing and pleasant experience. However once the season picks up and you get into the 'peak' it will get very crowded. Worth a try and we will do the same again next year.
The real Sirca experience
from FatboyDevon
We stayed in Bitez for the last week in September and the First week in October 2007. When we arrived at the Sirca, we were greated by the staff and given the keys to our apartments( we were a group of two couples). We had requested apartments together, but were told on arrival this was not possible. No big deal it was time to explore the resort. Our apartment was clean, although very tired looking. The TV worked but had no sound, and the hairdryer never came to life, not essential to a good holiday, but our requests for help were not always resolved. We had read the reviews on the apartments before we booked, and one traveller had mentioned the unusal toilet roll system, but as it had never been mentioned elsewhere we thought it might have been a mistake....it wasn't! At the Sirca apartments you are given 1 toilet roll, which is NEVER replaced!! Kindley they are sold in the shop, quite a money maker! So be prepared. Bitez as a resort is lovely at the end of the season. We had 2 fantastic trips with BBC- Bitez Boat Company, the moonlight cruise was especially enjoyable with late night swimming in the aquarium, and a lovely supper. A must if you get the chance. The free sunbeds are a blessing, and we had lovely lunches at the Sar Bar, and appreciated not being hassled. Generally a pleasent resort, and a lovely holiday!
My favourite resort in Turkey

We have just returned from our 2nd trip to Bitez. The first time being 5 years ago and happy to report that it is just as good as it was the first time. We stayed in the Sirca Apartments this time, initally we were disappointed that we could not select the Paloma which we had stayed in previously when we booked our holiday in Feb this year but the Sirca was actually better. They were an excellent choice & we have already decided that we will be returning to them for our holidays in 2008. The staff are so helpful & friendly - they really go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay with them. Bitez has lots of excellent retuarants & you are spoiled for choice. We discovered the Blue Moon this year which we had not been at previously & ate there 4 times in the 2 weeks. The food is excellent as are the staff. We had our pictures taken for their website. It will be my first stop on our first evening in 2008. During the day we sunbathed at the sumbeds at the Bambu cafe bar, (sunbeds in Bitez are free of charge - a great saving compared to some destinations) The Bambu had just opened this year & is on the front just passed the Mosk. Ahmet is the manager & his number 1 is "Tiger". they form an excellent team & we will also be heading there next year for our same sunbeds. We often stopped there in the evenings an enjoyed a glass of wine just watching the world go by. The food is also very good. The Ambrosa Hotel is just down from the Sirca & they have a bar area on the edge of their restuarant which anyone can sit at & watch the sunset - perfect - my idea of bliss, watching the sun go down with a lovely chilled glass of wine. Roll on 2008.
Loved Sirca and its friendly staff

My husband and I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Sirca Apartments. The apartments were clean and spacious, although looking a bit dated now. My praise though is for the staff who run the complex, especially Mehmet, Freddie, Mustapha and Yusuf. You could not wish to meet friendlier and helpful people - they all helped make our stay memorable. The food in the Sirca restaurant is excellent and good value (though I would also recommend the Blue Moon - especially for its Turkish pitta bread). You do have to get used to being hassled along the sea front by staff wanting you to eat in their particular restaurant, but a smile and "see you next time" usually does the trick. The food was consistently excellent, but it was a case of "so many restaurants - so little time!!!" Do go on one of the cruises organised by the BBC (they have stalls on the beach front), it costs £8 for a 7 hour cruise along the coast and this includes lunch (which was very nice) and afternoon fruit, tea and biscuits. The clear water at the bays where we stopped was irresistably, even to someone like me who does not like swimming in the sea. Just one note of caution, while we were there the average temperature was 40 degrees, reaching 49 and 51 on two consecutive days. If you don't like extreme heat it may be advisable to avoid going in July. This was our first visit to Turkey, but we will definitely be going back again.
So good, going back for more

Absolutely fantastic, went in September 06, and have booked again for beginning of August 2007, most relaxing holiday we have ever been on, myself, wife and 3 year old daughter. We have been to turkey 7 times and found Bitez to be the nicest, a lot quieter than Bodrum / Gumbet, which is heaven, it gave us the most chilled holiday ever. We tried most of the Restaurants in Bitez, but actually found the Sirca restaurant where we stayed the best, absolutely lovely food and great value for money. We have never and always said we wouldn't go to the same place on Holiday, however we have booked here again, as we think we have found a gem, not sure why I'm writing the review, as I would prefer to have this little bit of paradise for ourselves
Excellent apartments
from jn003
We booked to go to Sirça Apartments after hearing good reports about it and after our visit I can only agree. There are only 24 apartments and although they can sleep 4 in each there were only 2 people in most of the apartments whilst we were there. They are very well equipped with a fridge, kettle, microwave and a hairdryer. There is no cooker as such but there are two electric hotplates. There is a TV which shows mainly local channels but also has Eurosport. The apartments are cleaned every day, sheets changed twice a week and towels three times a week. Two points to be aware of though – we paid extra for the air conditioning (£25 per week) which was not a problem but the unit is in the living room so the bedroom remained hot and we slept in the living room some nights. Obviously not an option if there are 4 of you! The other thing is the safe deposit box – this is very small which is fine for money, tickets, passports etc but is not big enough if you have say a large camera. The pool is a good size with a separate baby’s pool. The pool is roughly the same depth throughout so no shallow end as such for children/non-swimmers. There are plenty of sunbeds and hammocks around the pool and we never had any problem finding a sunbed, no matter what time of day it was. The bar is open from about 8am until late and there are 2 happy hours with I think 30% off drinks. You can get breakfast, lunch or snacks at the bar or there is the main restaurant around the corner for lunch or dinner. The Turkish night held here is an experience, OK if you like that sort of thing, however the food is not really up to the restaurant’s usual standard. The staff are FANTASTIC!! They all go out of their way to help you and are so friendly. You’re all on first name terms by the end of the first day. It’s about 5 minutes walk to the beach and all the restaurants along the seafront. If you haven’t been to Turkey before you may be a bit intimidated at first as they all have someone trying to get you into their restaurants but if you say no thank you or we’ll come back tomorrow they’re quite happy. They usually give you a card with some form of discount on it if you do go back – we didn’t buy a bottle of wine during our first week. You can get English breakfasts if that’s your thing, burgers etc, but there are also some very nice restaurants, all serving excellent food. Our favourite was the Dolphin but we also liked Sirça’s restaurant, The Golden Spoon and Poyraz which was right at the far end of the beach. Book your trips through one of the tour companies direct rather than through your tour operator. We used Indiana Travel and the trip to Ephesus for example was half the price of our tour operator. The only problem was that you stop at a gold store on the way back as they are obviously on commission but you don’t have to go in and/or buy anything. Also, we booked a trip to Kos with Indiana which included transfers to and from Bodrum from Bitez whereas the First Choice trip only included transfers to Bodrum and you had to make your own way back to Bitez. All in all, Bitez and Sirça Apartments are strongly recommended.
