Pashahan Hotel

I actually posted this review a couple of months ago, but for some reason, it never showed up... This was my 3rd trip to Cappadocia and my wife's first. I met the family that owns the Pashahan on my previous trip and they were very friendly. It was their friendliness that got me interested in staying in the first place. The stay was great. The hotel is extremely clean and is centrally located in Goreme...just a couple minute walk from anything you need. We stayed in one of the cave rooms and it was extremely comfortable.... more

I arrived in Cappadocia for a 3 night, 2 1/2 day stay this November. It was cold, but the clouds in the sky only enhanced Cappadocia's dramatic landscape. It was dark by the time my shuttle from the airport pulled up in front of Pashahan Hotel. I was desperately chilled and hoping the hotel would be as warm and friendly and nice as I'd heard it was. Last month we had a wonderful three days at the Pashahan cave hotel. When we arrived, Sergio the owner, offerred us hot apple tea and a fruit platter up on the terrace. In the morning we had an extremely large breakfast which included all kinds of different fruits, hard boiled eggs and french bread with jam. My wife and I recently visited Goreme on our honeymoon where we stayed at the Pashahan House. Of all the accomodations we experienced in Turkey, this was by far the best, not only in the quality of the lodging but also the hospitality provided by the owner, Sergio. He made us welcome from the moment we arrived (2AM in the morning!) until we departed 3 days later. Having visited the captivating Goreme earlier in the summer I decided to return for a birthday treat for a week in early October and staying at the Pashahan certainly made it a memorable time for all the most fabulous reasons. Luxury without the attitude is rare to find but this beautiful, welcoming and peaceful haven has it in abundance. Rooms are spacious and have all the mod-cons you could wish for. Pasha Han is just wonderful. We stayed two nights, and we wıshed we had a week to spend here. The floors and walls are draped with carpets and hangings, and the hotel itself is an old house that has ben restored by the owners - the stonework is beautiful, and the atmosphere enhances a stay in this amazingly atmospheric region. Bathrooms are large and clean. I poked around other rooms, and some have a mezzanine with a small bed in addition to the double - very cute. Sergio and Altan are amazıngly helpful hosts. After staying mostly in Turkish pensions, which have theır own unique charm, we decided to treat ouselves to a 'boutique hotel' ın Cappadocıa. We chose the Pashahan Hotel ın Goreme, and an excellent choice it proved to be. There are wonderful carpets, ancient clothiıng and other 'antique' Turkısh paraphernalia decoratıng the entire hotel, includıng the guest rooms. The Pashahan hotel ıs a great value and the staff are extemely helpful. The decor ıs amazıng, wıth turkısh carpets and turkısh thıgs everywhere. The rooftop Terrace ıs an excellent place wıth a perfect vıew to enjoy your breakfast ın the mornıng, sımply beatıful. The staff made the stay very easy and were able to book all of the tours for us wıth no hassel and at the last mınute. I wanted to buy half the furnishings in my room! This place is gorgeously decorated, incredibly central (2 mins walk from the otogar) and right next to the town's most famous rock castle. The staff are extremely friendly, and will help you book anything without too much pressure. Talk to Altan & Sergio! Check out the rooftop, with amazing views and comfy cushions, and wifi internet (I am writing this on the spot). I came to Göreme for only two days but ended up staying 5, I enjoyed it so much here. Highly recommended!

I had the most wonderful experience staying at the Pashahan hotel this paast July. I have traveled widely through out Turkey over the last twelve years and this is by far the nicest and most beautiful place I have stayed. I came here with a group of 11 friends, but not a tour group. Each couple in our group wanted to do something different and they were amazing at accomidating all of our needs.
