This is the hidden gem on the Lycean Walk
Wanting a well located base to do walks along the famed Lycean Walk we were really pleased with this boutique hotel in Adrasan. Our hosts were fantastic, helping us plan our trips and guiding us on some of them to ensure we got the maximum enjoyment. The rooms were clean and bright, the beds extremely comfortable and the layout of the hotel itself was terrific. The only (minor) drawback was the rough dirt road leading up from the village, but this also meant quiet nights and restful sleep. Jon and Sue were perfect hosts and their family and... more
Unique place
Five minutes walk from a quiet beach, this hotel and its surroundings are nothing like the typical "package holiday in the sun" scene. Don't come here if you want sophisticated shopping etc! Do come here if you want to either chill out beside the pool/ on the beach or enjoy outdoor activities like walking. The hotel is small and comfortable, the rooms large and ditto. Jon Graham and his family are ex-pats who go to great lengths to make guests welcome and attend to their every need. For walking enthusiasts, this includes shuttles to/from... more
Walking off the beaten track on the Lycian Way
I wanted to do some walking based in a quiet location and found it at the Ottoman Palace adjacent to the Lycian Way in Adrasan. Away from the bustle of the bigger Southern Turkish resorts, the activities revolved around nature with good eating and comfortable accommodation. The boat trip captained by a local Adrasan skipper was an economic way of seeing the Turquoise Coast from the sea without the need for hiring a gulet from one of the major operators. This part of the coast also contains many interesting historical sites such as Myra, the... more
An island of comfort in a desert of tranquility
It's a real hidden gem: Everything to make guests comfortable, and tasteful. A 1 Km walk takes you to the beach and souvenir shops, restaurants. Another Km further is a great diving center. My morning dives were often canceled because of the waves, but the afternoon and night ones were perfect. I guess the Ottoman Palace Hotel is perfect for people who prefer to read a book near the pool and their meals are quite good. The ambiance also beats the average restaurants of the beach, by far. The hosts welcome their guests as family, and also let... more
Welcoming family-run hotel
We like active holidays and we wanted to walk some of the lycian way, but we wanted to totally chill at the same time, and we didn't want to be in a resort town, so we signed up for the Ottoman Palace's 5 day walking package. I have to say, we couldn't have made a better choice :-) Sue and John the owners were friendly and courteous and the very soul of helpfulness, picking us up from the airport at god knows what hour and organising all our walks (including transport and packed lunches) and excursions for us, so we had all of the fun... more
Nice hotel with excellent service and beautiful walks
Service: the service was so good I had and could not expect as we are vegan raw foodists and each breakfast and each supper was brilliantly arranged and with beautiful fantasy put together better than we could have done it at home. Room: Nice and interesting architecture of the hotel as a karawansery, beautiful yard inside the hotel building, big rooms with nice arrangements and view to the sea. Location: The hotel is not too close to the sea, but we could hear the waves and also see them which was important and nice for us. <br... more
It was an amazing time...
Ottoman Palace was one of the best experiences we had in Adrasan. As I always said ,we had both worlds ,a Western service in Turkey...It was a dream come true...
A very special place to stay
Following a magazine article extolling the virtues of Turkey and more particularly Cavus Bay, we decided to try the Ottoman Palace Hotel for our first visit to this distinct and exotic country. Night flights were, at the time, our only option and the journey to Cavus Bay from Antalya Airport is around 1½ hours, but nevertheless Sue (the owner with husband Jon) was there to greet us when we arrived around 3.30am with a warm welcome and refreshments. Prior to retiring, enquiries were made about the timings for breakfast “breakfast... more
wonderful place
w hen we left antalya behind and after two hours in the car we turned off the main road onto a dirt track we wondered if we had done the right thing ,booking this holiday,we need not have feared as we eventually reached cavus bay ,a beautiful bay with no large hotels but lots of beach beds and umbrellas provided free by the local bars and restaurants.the hotel was a bit off the beaten track but we were greeted by all the staff on arrival. the room was excellent, large and airy and very clean. food was prepared by a very imaginative... more
Perfect for walking the Lycian Way
Jon and Sue at the Ottoman Palace were just great and the rooms are huge. Our hot bath was just what we needed after hard days on the lycian walking route. Our week was just pre season so we had the newly returned chef determined to prove his mettle, fabulous food - better than anything we had in Istanbul the week before and considerably better value. But the winning formula here is the welcome and personal attention.
