Submitted By: Mr M MorleyThe rooms are Clean and tidy and have everything you expect for a very good price. Bathroom I could not fault. We did not use the pool as the sea is 200 metres away.
Yes the corridors are long but these were built in the Mid 70's so not a lot you can do. Trust me If you Fart too loud it echoes down the corridor. So I would not worry about safety.
I have stayed twice and will be booking again this weekend for next year. The hotel rooms all have safes.
This hotel is in a great position near the beach and about a 40 minute walk into the centre of magaluf. The walk is a great way to view the many shops, bars and restaurants that line the streets and side roads. One which springs to mind is the MOCUBAR.
You could eat there 3 times a day and not find fault. superb Food, Polite English couple they do not show Peter Kay, Only fools and horses and make you put your shirt on if you are going to eat there. 10 out of 10.

Submitted By: Mrs D SPool was nice and it was good not having to fight for sun loungers as we went at the quiet time into the first week of September. Poolside snacks were good and food was fresh with a happy hour for drinks 2 for price of one for 15 minutes each day. Stefan the kids entertainer was great with the kids, he was pleasant and always on the go making the kids happy.
TV was free although you put down a 20 Euro deposit for the remote, we didn’t know about this til we were nearly going home so didn’t bother, you got ITV, Euro spot and Sky News.
Apart from the state of the hotel locks on doors and patio doors, this is a lovely place to stay, they need to sort out security for each and every apartment.

Submitted By: Mrs Joanne MThe kitchen was basic but had everything you needed, fridge, utensils, cooker and toaster, all in working order.
The only good moan I would have about this place was lack of security. The door leading to our apartment was useless, it looked as though our door had been forced open by thieves plenty of times previously so I immediately on our arrival went to reception and hired a safety deposit box for the duration of our stay.
The patio doors were held shut by one tiny little bolt that was useless, so you may as well have left the patio doors onto the balcony open all the time as the doors slid open even with the bolt locked.
On the Wednesday, one family were robbed of all their passports, money and travellers cheques and the hotel did nothing, they didn't have a safe and seemed as though they had been targeted. That day and night five other apartments were robbed, all of money and travellers cheques and passports, again the hotel were not liable as these families didn't hire a safe.
As there were 42 out of 80 apartments empty, it certainly seemed like the robbers knew which rooms were occupied, they knew who didn't have safes so I don't know if it was an inside job but it certainly seemed that way. The families who had safes didn't seem to have a break in as i spoke to some of them round the pool area.
The pool was nice but went deep really quickly with no warning signs on the side, and it was cleaned every day and the sun bed area was hosed down every day. The entertainer Stefan was very very nice and worked really hard all day to keep the kids entertained, he worked his socks off to please everyone, credit to him for doing a fantastic job.
The break-ins would not put me off going back here because with the peace of mind of hiring a safe for 3 euros a day, you know your valuables are covered by the hotel if the safe is broken into. I liked the apartments and was really quiet and peaceful on a night and loved the space they have. I will probably go back next year, just security that needs sorting there.

Submitted By: Mr Tony HowardFunny really when you’re on the ground floor and before leaving your apartment you check all the windows are locked and the doors are secure.
Pitty with it being the last day, we didn’t cram everything into the safe deposit box. Ah well, foolish me, it must of been a ghost because the receptionist was adamant no one else could have gained access to our room. So just a little warning to anyone who might stay there, don’t think for one minute your belongings will be ok just because you have checked the windows and doors!
They come through your door and they come when you’re out and those spirits have keys! Don’t be as foolish as we were because your valuables will just disappear like ours. You have been warned. Happy Holidays!

Submitted By: Mrs J BradbrookI go to Palma nova3/4 times a year as I have family who run a restaurant there (Real Dion) yes the roc is a bit shabby and painted in brown everywhere, but the staff are helpful, I booked a one bedroom apartment for a week for 150 quid and they put me in a two bed roomed for the same price! Its cheap its cheerful and its near everything.
In fact I’m just booking up to go in October.

Submitted By: Miss CS StoreyWe found that that the apartments were clean but were not secure and some parts were falling to pieces, i.e. the ceiling in the bathroom. The patio doors were also loose and did not shut properly.
On our third night, after returning from a night out we came back to see that our ground floor apartment had been broken into. Through the patio doors. We had all our money, electronics, clothes, my make up, jewelry and perfume/ aftershave taken. This was unbelievable and ruined our holiday.
The hotel was no help at all, asking us to stay in the room until the following day when the manager was there. The receptionist did not even talk English. We felt totally alone on the matter.
If the hotel was secure this would not have happened. From then on I felt totally unsafe in that hotel. The corridors are very long and there are not many people about so its very unsafe for women and that’s not how you want to feel on holiday.
We definitely would not recommend the Porto-Novo apartments!
Very unsafe!

Submitted By: Mr S DuttonWe were also on the 1st floor so were on the same level as the road making privacy impossible. On our arrival we found the air conditioning in our room was turned off. On asking at the reception desk we were told that the air con is only turned on at the end of May as it was not hot enough until then! Maybe so for the locals, but not to us Brits, as we found it too hot in the rooms.
They did provide us with a large fan, which did help to a point . On the whole though it was a nice place and the reception staff very helpful.

Submitted By: Mrs J CharlesThe pool and area were very clean and pretty. We ate at the pool bar most lunch times and the food was fresh. We stayed self catering but paid for breakfast every morning which was great too. We found the staff friendly and helpful. There was no entertainment which was a bit of a problem as we struggled to entertain the children in the evening, but the season was only just starting.
There was however, a fantastic bar/restaurant just down the road called Mocubar. It is owned and run by a British couple who were very friendly. The place was spotlessly clean, the food absolutely stunning and there were no crowds of stag/hen parties which were in a lot of other places.

Submitted By: Mrs E WeaverThe rooms were bright and airy with a large lounge. Both our bedroom and the lounge led out onto a private terrace which had direct access to the pool area. This was brilliant as we did not have to go through the hotel en route to the pool and everything was on hand for us. The pool area had a well equipped bar which served snacks throughout the day, with a very friendly staff.
Entertainment was provided in the evenings, although we tended to eat out each night and spent our evenings along the "strip". The hotel staff were efficient and very accommodating. The hotel was very clean, safe and airy. The area in which the hotel is located is quiet but only a short walk from all the hustle and bustle of the local bars, restaurants and shops.
It faces a marina with the beach only a few yards away. With all Palma Nova has to offer, I think it is the best holiday resort on Majorca. I would recommend a self catering holiday here to anyone.

Submitted By: Mrs I HedgesThe accommodation was brilliant with a family of 5 usually you are crammed in- we had so much space.
The food was lovely, the rooms were spotless, the kids pool was small but the beach was just across the road.
The surrounding area was quiet with the main shopping/food area a short walk away.
Would definitely go back again.

Found accommodation to be very good, good pool bar, friendly and helpful staff, overall experience very positive. Brilliant views over the sea and good location although got taxi back at nighttime, cost about 5 euros. Easily walkable into Magalluf within 20 mins, but not walking back after a heavy night! Would definitely book again and go back.
Also check out Legends Bar on Cala Galleon, Near BCM's, opposite side to Mrs Doyles. Very sensible prices and a good atmosphere with Dave and Nita as good hosts.

The kitchen must have dated back to the 80's and was rotting gently away, cooker only half worked. The bathroom tiles were mostly cracked. Furniture shabby but at least it was clean. The whole complex is very run down and in need of serious renovation.

There is NOT a restaurant or snack bar, it has close down. It was a cheap holiday so I suppose you get what you pay for.

The pool area is quite large and the indoor swimming pool was very advantageous if travelling in the winter months with the colder weather that prevails. There is a supermarket very close to the apartments, and various bars and eateries to hand.

Apartment was nice & clean. There was a pool (not huge) and sand pit with slides etc. The kids didn't want to leave the pool area all week.
Entertainment was provided in the evenings and a small kids club for hour or so twice a day.
The food at the pool bar was fine for lunch times. Would definitely stay here again.
Roc Portonova is at the very end of Palma Nova therefore if you wanted to go into Magaluf I would suggest a taxi.
There are loads of bars/restaurants nearby. It is in the quieter part of the resort but we had a lovely relaxing time. Breakfast was available for 5 Euros pp. Children under 5 were foc.
