Melrose Allgau Hotel

We stayed only one night at Melrose Allgau Hotel but it was one of our best hotel experiences in Turkey. Mehmet, Umi, and Salam immediately make you feel welcome in their 'home'. Our arrival at Melrose Allgau was a wonderful end to a particularly challenging day of minibus travel. The food is home-cooked and delicious. The family even rearranged our Selcuk bus travel plans for the next day so that we could take a tour of nearby Aphrodisias.

I have spent just one night at the melrose allgau hotel. The best hotel of the whole trip. A lovely family-run hotel, with a great swimming pool with pamukkale termal water, and brand new rooms. All rooms were cleaned and comfortable. We have stopped there for dinner as well, and even the dinner was fantastic. The owners are turkish, but they speak fluent english and german. A great value choice: cheap, cleaned, and nice. I strongly recommend it!

This hotel owners and their staff really go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay! Every day we were greated with genuine warmth and asked if there was any way they could help make our stay more enjoyable (and they almost always did - right from the time they met us at the bus stop until they helped us book activities for the next part of our journey and gave us a lift to meet the bus when we departed). We travelled for 3 weeks in Turkey with my 2 children 1 & 2 yrs. we never had any problem everyone was so helpful & friendly. When we arrived in Pamukkale we had planned to stay for 2 days. As soon as we saw the place we knew we would have to stay longer. It wasnt just the hotel itself it was Mehmet & Ummu, they gave us such a warm welcome that we felt like we were home. What a place. I was gonna stay only one night but ended up staying 2 only because of the amazing hospitality of Mehmet and Ummi. I took a bus to Pamukkale which was 3 hours late due to some problems with the bus. Mehmet stayed at the bus stop waiting for me for 3 hours and this was at 3 AM. The food rocked and pretty much everyone had dinner at the hotel. Internet is available all through and Ummi was kind enough to give her laptop for usage as well. We just returned from a relaxing and incredible stay in Turkey. A great place to stay was Melrose Allgau hotel. The hotel owners (Mehmet and Ummu) were universally helpful and cordial. Each time we returned from our trips around Pamukkale we were greeted warmly by the staff who went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. Rooms: Make sure you pick one in their new building. Although the decor can be somewhat tacky, it was extremely comfortable and the a/c worked so amazingly well. An added bonus we did not expect is wireless internet (my husband is a laptop junkie) and satellitte TV! ..as the song goes. Defintely the best hotel in Turkey - maybe the world! Mehmet and Ummu are just beautiful people, the food was delightful, the setting lovely. The air conditioned rooms were just awesome after a week without.

All I can say this...Mehmet and Ummu, the owners of Algau are the sweetest people on the planet! Oh and they had a little boy who was spending summer with them and helping out...a real sweet kid! I cant wait to go back there, or have them come visit us here! Ummu's world famous Sach Kebabs are to die for. Oh, and let me not get started on the lentil soup...the best! period enjoyed it the most! The location is perfect too...and Pamukkale is a must see if you go to Turkey. We stayed at Allgau Hotel during the winter and it was our best stay in Turkey. The most important thing for hotels to have in the winter is consistent hot water and consistent central heating. This hotel had both those things. In the winter it is too cold to hang out outdoors in their lovely courtyard and pool area, so the family opens up their living room for visitors to eat their meals and hang out in the evenings.
