Highest Recommendation
Just returned from an 8 day holiday, after numerous recommendations from friends and work colleagues. They were not wrong - we had a fabulous holiday in Kalkan and the Meldi was a significant factor from the incredible prices (book direct with them), the cleanliness of the entire site, the great pool and pool bar backed up by the genuine friendliness of all Staff, from Shap (the owner) through each and every person working there. We will be going back next year, with other family members and that is a first for us. Cannot rate the hotel... more
Go Meldi Hotel Kalkan
I stayed in MELDI Hotel Kalkan last August, with my wife and my three children. We really, really enjoyed so much. MELDI is situated in the most beautiful settings of nature, it is surrounded by mountains and a sea view just fantastic I think the best of all is the management and the staff it has an incredibly friendly atmosfere in fact within a few hours we thought we were in our own place. My special thanks to Mr Sahap and his chief of staff Mr Yusuf and all the others that made our stay special for us. We did a few trips together... more
The perfect choice in Kalkan
We were the first guests of the season in the Meldi, and what a wonderful week it was. It's the staff of the Meldi that make it such a wonderful home from home, nothing was ever too much trouble and we were treated like royalty. I was surprised that the hotel is so close to Kalkan centre - I was expecting to walk either up or down hills (having previously stayed in another hotel) but it was a fairly level, if a little uneven in places, 5 minute walk (or 10 minute amble) to the centre of the village. The rooms have... more
Fantastıc Boutique Hotel on the coast
The Meldi ıs a rare fınd. Havıng travelled to turkey for some years I have found a home from home. This small hotel - ıt only has about 30 rooms, ıs ımmaculately clean, wıth a lovely pool, restaurant and bar area. The rooms are all en-suıte and kept to a very hıgh standard. The staff a very welcomiıng and speak good engliısh. The hotel ıs a very short 5 mınute walk from the centre of kalkan, whıch boasts loads of restaurants and ınteresting shops. If you are lookıng for 5 star oppulence, then this ıs not the... more
Great hotel, brilliant service
The Meldi is a brilliant hotel, in fact we leave tomorrow night for Turkey, staying at the Meldi for 10 days! The service is second to none as well as it being a very clean, conveniently located hotel. The centre of Kalkan is only a 10 minute walk away, although Kalkan in general is not advisable for those who have difficulty walking or families with small children and buggies. This is due to the fact that until you get down to the seafront you're either walking up a hill or down one! Dont let this put able-bodied people off... more
Melid is still fantastic!
We recently returned from our 9th trip to Kalkan, this time we travelled independently as the Meldi is no longer with a tour operator. We had 4 rooms and were treated like royalty by Yusuf and the staff. OK it was a bit quiet compared to last year but the efforts they went to for us were worthy of a 5 star hotel. The Meldi is very comfortable with a lovely pool and the restaurant is good. My mother, who is not terribly mobile but tries hard(!) had a great time and loved the respect that was shown to her by the Turkish people,... more
Truly fantastic
We stayed here as a family with two teenage daughters in July/August 2005. We have been to Kalkan several times but the Meldi hotel was by far our favourite hotel. The quality of service is excellent, the lunch time pool snacks good value and the overall atmosphere fantastic. The staff are amongst the most friendly people you will meet in Kalkan (as are all of the Kalkan locals) and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is unforgettable. The location is perfect as you can easily stroll (10 minutes) down into the beautiful Kalkan... more
The hotel to return to...
We discovered the Meldi hotel in 2002 and have made return visits 7 times since! Visting in June and September the weather is consistently good and avoids the intense heat of July and August. The staff at the Meldi are it's most important asset since they are genuinely interested in looking after their guests. The pool is magnificent and has to hold the award for being the most nurtured and well looked after in the region. The rooms are basic, clean and comfortable and all have balconies with some sort of view either to the... more
Wonderful Place to stay!
We have stayed here twice and are returning in October. We have fallen in love with Kalkan, staff at this hotel are most welcoming and the service is great. We preferred to eat in the town where we have found the best selection of quality food on our travels. The hotel food is good for those who don't want to walk far. No beaches in Kalkan but some really nice beach platforms that have ladders into the sea. All of these have restaurents so you can stay for the day and hire beds and parasols. The Mahal has a free boatride to it and has... more
Relaxing Holiday
We were very impressed by this hotel. It's just a short walk from the centre of Kalkan, and has a very relaxed feel about it. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there are lots of little touches which make it well above average - particularly as it's not at all expensive. We spent most of our days on loungers around the pool, reading books from the hotel's library and chatting with a really nice group of people. Lunch is available from the bar and it's tempting to never move from your lounger! The Meldi also has a rooftop restaurant... more
