Hotel Sebnem

i stayed at hotel sebnem for 5 nights in april and was so impressed with the friendly and helpful staff, the well-decorated rooms and the cosy atmosphere of the place. breakfast on the roof terrace overlooking the sea was another plus. i wish i could have stayed longer. thank you for making my stay so enjoyable! Ok, so I am a bit split on how I should review this hotel. I'd have to say all of the "Excellent" reviews on Tripadvisor are a bit inflated. If I were trying to get a feel for this hotel, I would concentrate on the balanced reviews such as this one. In the same breath, I would probably discount most of the overly negative reviews as Sebnem just isn't THAT bad. i realise now that how lucky i was to find Sebnem Hotel for my holiday . We ( me and my girlfriend )stayed 6 days and all days was like a dream in Istanbul . The people , food, history, architecture , mosques, museums , Bosphorus ..... i fell like this list will not finish. And Sebnem is on the the top of this list cause the staff really made us feel like we are in our home. Although I am generally rather easy-going when it comes to hotels, I have to strongly disagree with the majority of the previous reviews. To refer to the Sebnem as “modest” or “simple” is a gross understatement. The various reviews, and the hotel’s very attractive and professional website, might lead potential visitors into expecting something along the lines of a charming bed and breakfast type establishment. Sebnem is a modest hotel, very clean, and in an excellent location in Istanbul, only a walking distance from the main attractions of Istanbul's ancient city. It is surrounded by nice shops, bars and restaurants. The management is very friendly, caring, and helpful. Joseph & Miki

Hotel Sebnem was a fantastic find. I was attracted to staying there after reading goods reviews on this and other websites. So now in return, I am writing my own good review. The hotel itself is small and quiet. The room we had was basic, but very comfortable and clean. With a four poster bed and old fashioned furniture. (Who needs a television, minibar or a trouser press in Istanbul?) There is also the luxury of air conditioning which could be essential in summer. I found hotel sebnem when walking around the area, after staying in a 4-star hotel in the area for a conference. I wanted to move to a hotel that suited my budget. The area itself is great, It was very easy to feel at home with the frindaly staff, who treated me like a personal guest. The informaility and friendly approach did wonders to reduce my fears of staying alone in a foreign city. The off-season in Istanbul makes me feel a bit sorrow, cold air,snow and sunset... but I have my usual hotel that heals me. it is the Sebnem hotel. The Sebnem hotel is located in a peaceful lane near blue mosque, aya sofia and topkapi palace. Tourists can enjoy local fresh turkish breakfast with maginificent view of the Bosporus. After flying into turkey from over seas we were met by one of the freindly staff members who were waiting for us with a sign with our name on it..which talk alot of pressure of being cheated by the taxi drivers which is mentioned in various travel books..and then arriving to our hotel and checking in was great.. lovely beds..great staff ..great food.. amazing views of ocean..thanks for the pleasant stay guys... joachim..SWEDEN

We stayed at the Sebnem at the beginning at end AND the end of our recent two week stay in Turkey. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are clean and generally quiet. Best of all, the location is perfect ... for walking to all the Sultanahmet sites, the tram, and restaurants galore. Our son is living in Turkey for two years and we plan to stay at the Sebnem whenever we visit.
