Our 2 week stay at the Mediteran in May was amazing. Myself, my husband and our three yr old daughter had one apartment and my parents had another. I think their room had the best view of all the apartments :0)
The staff are just wonderful, welcoming, helpful and friendly - my daughter was truely spoilt and was made to feel most welcome. The communal areas are kept spotlessly clean and the pool area has a real luxury feel with wooden loungers and deep padded seats.
The views as other posters have said are the most perfect in Kalkan - we didn't find any better in any of the rooftop terraces and indeed the food was rarely beaten in any of the restaurants either - the chef must be commended.
The rooms are spacious and it's lovely to have a lounge and bedroom, esp when travelling with children. Some of the little touches in the rooms are a little haphazard, like the finish around bathroom fixtures, so detracting from the 5 star feel but that in no way adversely affected our holiday. The road up is terrible with loose stone all over, but this may well be all done by now so don't let it put you off.
You cannot fail to have a wonderful holiday at the Mediteran and we may well return :0)

My husband and I enjoyed a week in Kalkan staying at the Mediteran Hotel. Ahmet and his team manage the hotel extremely well, all the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The suites are just right, everything you could possibly need. Beautiful gardens and pool area and no shortage of comfy sun loungers, lovely infinity pool too. The breakfast option is a typical Turkish breakfast (included in the price) or an additional menu is available, we tried both and were very pleased, plus there is an endless supply of excellent coffee or tea. Lunches and dinners are available, again excellent, lovely chef. We also tried the Thursday night BBQ, lots of lovely food, thoroughly enjoyed it. The views from the terrace are fantastic looking down into the lovely town of Kalkan where there are some fantastic restaurants. The hotel offer a shuttle service several times a day into the town as at the moment there are a number of unmade roads so walking into town isn't easy, we always got a taxi ride back (about 14 TKL). Without doubt would return to this hotel, thank you Ahmet and your fantastic team for a lovely weeks holiday.

Location is idyllic, accommodation spacious and clean, service exceptional. Definitely 5 star feel to it. Staff are attentive and friendly and get to know you. The Hotel restaurant serves up meals as good as anywhere in town. The views are spectacular and there is never the impression of it being too busy. Kalkan has a fantastic dining culture with many rooftop restaurants. Ahmet is the perfect host and always ensures his guests are well looked after. There are definitely no negatives about the Mediteran

We have just retunred from the Mediteran, and I must say we had a great two weeks of total relaxsation. Ahmed and his team were excellent and very friendly and helpul. We stayed in rooms 301 and 302 a week in each, both with excellent views of the bay. The rooms are as many have said, clean, comfortable and spacious. Most of the time we were there we stayed at the pool, which was quiet and peaceful, and as there are only 12 appartments, it never felt too busy. We tried to walk to the harbour and restuarnats every night as a little exercise, but I would recommend only doing this in the evenings as it gets a little hot in the day. Taxis are easy to catch and usually cost 7 to 10 Lira per trip, depending on were you catch them from in the town. I would recommend going on a day trip or two, we went on the Jeep Safari which took us to a few ruins, limestone gorge and patara beach. As there are so many restuarants to choose from, it helped that we did a bit a research to see what was good and what was not. If you like your Fillet steak and Seafood, you will not be disappointed! Prices closet to the harbour are the most expensive with a large sized Fillet going for 28-34 Lira, while Seafood usually under 30 Lira. The best alround restuarant is Aubergine - with prpbably the best steak I have ever had and that is saying something as I am South African and have had a fair steak or two. The seafood and deserts are excellent there as well. The Korsan Fish Terrace is my number two with great vibe and sevice.
We bought a lot of fresh fruit from the grocer, and got a taxi back with our weekly supply's, excellent watermelon! All in all we had a great time and Ahemd arranged for us to be collected and dropped off at the airport at a reasonable price. The tempreture was around 30 degrees ever day, so perfect and with it being September it was a little quieter than what were told June,July and Aug were. Kalkan is more upmarket than most of the other Turkish towns/resorts that we read up on, and I would recommend the Mediteran 100%.

After lots of research into Kalkan Hotels my boyfriend and I booked our trip to the Mediteran directly with Ahmet through turkishcoastline.com. There is little information on these apartments as they are only a few years old and not many people have posted Trip Advisor reports...probably so that not too many people get to know about this little gem!
On arrival we were met at Dalaman Airport by our private car transfer (also arranged through Ahmet) which took about 1 hour 45 minutes. We chose not to have a stop off on the way as it was late at night and just wanted to get there (they do normally stop for a 10 minute break and worth picking up some water if arriving late at night)! The hotel is located on the hill overlooking Kalkan and the car journey up to the hotel was rather rocky – don’t let this put you off or alarm you! Would have been better with a 4x4 but we made it through....we got used to this by the end of the week and all the drivers/taxis seem to take in in their stride! It is well worth the journey once you arrive. We were shown directly to our apartment on the top floor by our driver as the reception is not manned 24 hours.
The view from the apartments is simply stunning and the pool area is beautiful with a gorgeous pool, wooden sun loungers and thick white padded cushions and umbrellas (which were on wheels for easy movement!). The apartments themselves are simple but modern – I wouldn’t call them luxurious but were very clean (cleaned every day), spacious and had everything we needed including the all important A/C in the bedroom and a priceless view from 2 balconies! The bathroom had a bath with good shower and lots of hot water. There is a small kitchenette in the lounge area which had a 2 ring hob, fridge, kettle (no toaster) and just enough plates etc (you wouldn’t really want to cook a 3 course meal anyway!) – I would recommend taking some washing up liquid, tea towel and dish cloth as these weren’t provided (Oh and no TV...which was lovely!).
We stayed in early July and the hotel was reasonably quiet (with no young children!). We had no trouble securing a sun lounger at any time of the day which was nice not to have to be up and out too early. There were also a selection of bean bags around the pool too if you wanted to sit in the shade and read a book or have a snooze. The hotel has the sun all day until it disappears over the mountain at about 8.00 pm....this could not be said for some of the hotels lower down in town so the Mediteran spot is just perfect with an added light breeze because it was higher up!
Breakfast was not included in our room rate so we either had something to eat at the apartment or had breakfast at the open air restaurant. The food was reasonably priced and they served fruit, omelettes, French toast etc. The service at the hotel was excellent and the staff very helpful and attentive (most are looking to improve their English so it was lovely to help them in return!). Again lunch was either a rustled up sandwich in our apartment or in the restaurant which is located next to the pool so not too far to move from the sun lounger (covered by parasols during the day) – lunch was anything from a toasted sandwich, salad, burger or spag bol (would not recommend the chips though!). In the evening the restaurant was transformed into a beautiful setting for dinner with fairy lights and hanging traditional Turkish lamps...it was very romantic but often quiet as there is so much to offer in Kalkan itself most guests would go into town! The bar was open for drinks so we tended to have a drink before heading off for dinner and then return for a drink before bed or a drink on the balcony.
You could walk to the town which was about 10-15 minute walk but it was very steep and the access road from the hotel quite rocky (as mentioned before!). We did walk a couple of times which was fine but recommend taking flat shoes for day and night – for the walk and the town! The hotel offered a lift service down to the town in the evenings so we took full advantage of this – we didn’t ever attempt the walk back up the hill – I am sure it is possible but for the sake of a £4.00 taxi ride we decided it wasn’t worth the effort (especially in the heat)! On our first day we walked down to the supermarket and they offered a delivery service so we stocked up on water and goodies and that was us done for the week....great service!
We spent a day at one of the beach clubs which was also run by Ahmet and his team so didn’t have to pay for sun beds and we were well looked after too. Kalkan itself is a beautiful town with many many excellent restaurants (too many to mention)...we simply had the best service and quality of food I have experienced whilst on holiday and far better than many restaurants in the UK. Prices were good (maybe not as cheap as some other Turkish resorts) and the service excellent.
In conclusion we had an amazing holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending the Mediteran or Kalkan to any of our friends. The only thing which would be nice is to offer a pool towel as the luggage limits are now so low on budget flights that it would save the space in my suitcase!

Just got home at the weekend after spending 2 weeks at the Mediteran...absolutely loved the place! The location is quiet and peaceful with beautiful views right over the harbour, town and Kalkan Bay. Whether sitting by the gorgeous infinity pool, out on your balcony or in the terrace restaurant the view is stunning. The apartments are clean and spacious and freshened up regularly. The food is excellent and Ahmet and his staff are all so friendly and helpful....it was a pleasure to stay here.
Kalkan is very hilly and the Mediteran is pretty high up but we were more than happy to trade a few taxi fares (not expensive) for the view alone.

We have has three brilliant holidays at the Mediteran, you can book direct so no hefty package prices, and you can fly from your nearest airport.
Ahmet and his team provided the perfect holiday for us, relaxed but fun. We too went on the boat trip which was a memorable day. We enjoyed the barbecue evening, and loved the cocktails at the bar. The pool is wonderful as are the views. The one bedroom apartments were spacious and some families had four in one apartment. I don't want to share our secret but they have assured us there will always be room for us :-))

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Mediteran Apartments in Kalkan and can't praise the hotel highly enough.
Its position up the hill from the town itself is great as it guarantees a nice breeze even on the hottest day. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Every single one has a fabulous sea view overlooking the infinity pool.
The staff were so helpful and kind and made us & our year old son feel extremely special. We have travelled extensively around Europe and nowhere have people been so warm and childfriendly as they are in Turkey. Not by a long shot.
The hotel's restaurant is great too. I would especially recommend the Turkish breakfast or the Menemen.
Most of the people we met at the hotel were back for their 5th, 6th or 7th time, which surely says something about how well the hotel is run.
Kalkan itself is lovely. It caters for upmarket, mainly British clients who have come there in search of quiet lazy days and fine foods. No football shirts, tattoos or karaoke bars in sight, thankfully.
The place is not for those searching a budget bargain, but well worth the extra money spent.

We stayed here in August for a 2 week holiday and had a wonderful time, the staff and the service were great with nothing being to much trouble. The location is stunning with an infinity pool overlooking Kalkan Bay. Each apartment has a bedroom and lounge with a small kitchen although we hardly used this as the breakfasts at the terrace restaurant were fantastic. Free wireless was provided to guests which was really handy. The pool area has plenty of loungers for guests and there are little day beds to use in the shade if it gets to hot. We will definately return to this special place.

Brilliant apartments in a fantastic village and location.
Beautiful village with wonderful beach clubs, apartments have a great infinity pool to cool off in and the restaurant and bar are great to relax after a long day sunbathing.
Great day trip on a boat sailing around the coast and swimming all organised by Ahmet at the apartments. All in all a perfect day.
Good service of complimentary taxi to take you to the village for a drink or a meal.
Ahmet and Hussain and all the staff were great.
Fantastic place to stay and a perfect holiday.

Sounds like we were on the same flight as Richard H, nightmare!!
Can't disagree with previous reviewers comments about situation, views, friendly staff (without Mehmet the place wouldn't function), entry to beach club etc, but...................!
There is aircon in bedroom only which can't be left on when you're out. The lounge area just has a ceiling fan that wafts hot air about. The furnishings are tired and need updating. The shower leaks onto the floor, so puddles every time. The infinity pool while spectacular is too warm to be refreshing....swim in the sea.And as for the cleaning staff. "a little light cleaning every day" was the description, that was a huge overstatement.
The term hotel is misleading, it is an aparthotel. If you are looking for a genuine quality hotel with all the usual trimmings this isn't it.If you want fairly basic accommodation at a relatively low cost it could be for you.
