" Fab break "

The Maria Eugenia is a fab hotel, friendly staff, good location, wonderful food (great choice), good selection of all inc. drinks. We went for four days, hotel under half full, only opened a week earlier. Steps to beach, not suitable for elderly or buggies, shopping centre also up steps. Beach clean, great surf!
Back to hotel, mainly french residence, only five brits, meals from 8am-930pm, bar 10.30am-10.30 pm, pool large and clean (stone paving area around pool had holes and was very uneven),rooms basic but clean (walls thin), lifts noisy(I didnt feel safe), entertainment terrible..asked for british translation for games. Hotel generally a bit dated but signs of modernisation. Ideal for an out of season short break. I would go back.

Advice: We enjoyed a short break out of main season...I would not go in July!

Activities: Beach domingues great, walking along the front.

Good for: Beach

" Just returned from 2 wks at this... "

Just returned from 2 wks at this hotel i could not fault it at all. The entertainement team, the staff all worked really hard. We went with some friends and their children and the children had lots of activities to do from shooting, archery, football, table tennis, bike riding etc. The food was excellent and there was plenty to choose from and the kids ate really well. It is a quiet resort but plenty to do if you want a break from the hotel. There is a beach at this resort but it is about a 10 minute walk. There was always plenty of sunbeds and the pool never got crowded as it was such a big pool. The all inclusive package runs from 10.30am to 10.30pm and then you have to pay for your drinks etc. Only negative point is the duration of the transfer which took about an hour. All in all a very good holiday. This hotel is mixed nationality which made a pleasant change, there was no loud music and no teenagers running round late at night. The hotel is set in large gardens with great views of the sea etc. Would I go again, yes certainly.

" This hotel is not an all brit hotel -... "

This hotel is not an all brit hotel - and this is what makes it special and not like the others. You have a mixture of french, spanish, german, polish and other nationalities. There was no having to get up at 6am to reserve your sunbed (not that I ever did before) as the pools so big there was plenty of space around the main pool. Or you could go to one of the many garden terraces and have the view of the sea. Entertainment staff were great with the kids, they do speak english and my youngest (12) thoroughly enjoyed himself, they played football with them, shooting, and other stuff that I dont know the name of. Plenty to keep them occupied, the drinks flowed freely, very generous with the vodka!! Even more generous if you put tips in their bucket lol! Food was great some nights, some nights not so great, my 14 yr old loved the food though and thats saying something! Plenty for them to eat during the day from the bar - burgers and sausages and chips (lush with mayo!). Crepes from 3pm not the same without bisto gravy on them though! Room 106 is a family room, loads of space even with 4 beds in and a view to die for. There is a ventilation fan on the roof below from the kitchens but inside the room you cant hear it and its only on when the kitchens open, turns off at night. View is amazing and is classed as a 'side sea view'! More like full on sea view!! The staff their nearly all spoke very good english. You do have to pay deposits for your wrist bands (get this back before 12pm on day of check out - but be warned - your free drinks STOP! so make lots of friends to get your drinks for you, or keep hold of your bands and lose your deposit which is 10 euros each, worth it if your on a late flight out). Dont get the zapper for your tv as its all in spanish apart from the news! Deposit plus 15 euros for your safe which is normal in most hotels out there. What more can I say apart from you will enjoy it, its not full of youngsters wanting to go clubbing cos there arent any! Family resort, really nice and quiet, most of the hotels in that area are nice. Ideal for youngsters, as I said mine had a great time and made lots of friends - not just british either. Great fun had by all, no loud music blaring out during the day - just audible so was perfect. If you want a blackpool situation full of brits then dont go, if you want 5 star service then dont go, if you want to have a good family fun time, to be able to chill out by the pool or go for a walk along the cliff tops by the sea then this is the place to be. There are lots of kids running around and throwing each other into the pool - well funny to watch them enjoying themselves. So not really a place for 20 somethings to go to. There were quite a few british family's there when we were so its not all foreign. This is a 3 star hotel, and in my opinion it should be 3plus, service was fantastic, maids cleaned rooms great (albeit you dont get fresh towels every day unless you pay 1 euro each!), no airconditioning but do have a ceiling fan which was ok still hot though. The side we were on you get the sun full on in the morning and by 5pm its moved round to the front so the balconys lovely and cool as is your room.

" Good 3 star hotel catering for French... "

Good 3 star hotel catering for French holiday makers.

The food is of 5 star standard and is family hotel. Papa as he likes to be known, who owns the hotel is in attendance from breakfast till late. He is lucky in that he has outstanding staff most notably by Margaretta in the restaurant and Paco who runs the bar.

The hotel is perfectly situated ,safe 400m cliff side walk to sandy beach in small bay (child friendly),shopping centre 100m outside hotel, bars, laundry, car hire all within 5mins walking distance.

As yet this area of Mallorca is relatively still unspoilt by mass commercialism. Most rooms have sea view as standard, good selection of activities and sports throughout the day.

Although the staff speak English French and Spanish are the main languages. The grounds and pool(fresh water) are cleaned on a regular basis, there is also a small paddling for the tots.

The transfer time from airport is 40mins by taxi and costs 50euros each way before midnight then it jumps to 80euros.
