Mirador

We Stayed for three nights at the Hotel Mirador. To transfer from the airport use the route one bus it stops outside the hotel and costs 1.85 euro (30 euro in taxi) the bus runs every 20 minutes. The hotel is located a 15 minute flat walk from the Le seu and around the same to the castle in the other direction. My Husband and I stayed at the Mirador for 3 nights, it’s a very pleasant hotel, located in Paseo Maritimo, so has excellent views over the marina. The location is excellent for the Cathedral, only a 15 minute walk and well worth the 4 euros to go in, it’s stunning inside. The hotel is quite quaint, lovely oil paintings in the lobby and reception, the rooms are spotlessly clean, although a little tired and in need of a makeover, the bathroom was marble and the shower was a fabulous power shower. Have just returned from a four night break at the Mirador and can't fault it. The position is ideal, overlooking the marina and surrounded by restaurants. The staff were pleasant and efficient. We did not book or pay for a sea view but were given a corner room with a good view over the marina. It was also only a short walk to the cathedral and old town. We had been a little concerned, prior to arriving, about noise from building work as mentioned by previous guests. We need not have worried as although there is some work going on... more

Just returned from a very enjoyable 4 night stay at the mirador.Position of hotel is excellant,overlooking harbour and good views towards cathederal.Good range of restaurants nearby for meals out . Our room was excellant-large ,with seaview(as booked) on the front with lovely views. Good breakfast, friendly ,helpful staff. There was some building work going on around the side of the hotel, but it did not bother us at all. Only problem for some could be the split level which means changing lifts for the upper floors. Having just come back from a long girl's weekend away (mature ones) which we booked 9 months ago, we arrived to the sound of building work. It seemed that they were underpinning the hotel. The room was small for a twin but to be fair the hotel was very clean althougth old fashioned. We asked to change rooms but they weren't at all interested. He just shrugged his shoulders. We stayed at the Mirador last September (2004). It is a beautiful hotel with regard to the public spaces e.g. lounges and entrance but we were very disappointed with our room considering it is a 4* hotel. Our room was on the side which was very dark because of a very large hotel to the side of us, we didn't really get any natural light in our room. Yes we could see the Marina but only by leaning over the (small) balcony. The room was clean but very dated as was the bathroom. The dining room was delightful and the breakfast very good... more

We stayed at the Mirador Hotel in Palma at the beginning of April 2005. It is easy to get to - the bus from the airport stops right outside (takes about 30 minutes for a few euros). Its a 20 minute walk to the centre of Palma but a great position right on the harbour front with lovely views. The rooms are OK with adequate bathrooms, plenty of hot water and nice and clean though the towels were a little worn sometimes. Just got back from a family two night break. This hotel was ideal, easy taxi drive from airport and taxi rank just outside for trips out. Marina view room was great, really nice antiquey bits of furniture and marble everywhere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to city centre shops, bars and tourist sites. At their prices, hard to beat, I should say.

We stayed for four nights at the Mirador and found it a very pleasant experience. The standard room was at the side of the hotel witha balcony and a sideways view of the harbour. Superior rooms at the front cost an extra £30 per night we were told when we asked. Our room had all mod cons and a largish bathroom. We ate in the restuarant on the first evening as we were tired, but found the food rather mediocre. We have just returned from a 4 day break at this hotel, which is opposite the harbour.The rooms were clean and well maintained. We agree with other reviews that it is a 15 minute walk to the cathedral but it also well placed for a decent walk in the opposite direction towards the marina/port. The number one bus stops just 100 metres from the hotel and this goes to the airport and also the shopping centre at Portopi so very convenient.The breakfast was good- when we went it was available between 730am and 11am- not a bad slot if you need a... more
