Loved Asmali Konak
I found Asmali Konak Hotel by coincidence for the first time in August 2007 when I was staying one night. I was impressed from the hotel staff that is very friendly. Also, hotel is very clean and located in one of the most famous parts of Istanbul. So, in October I was back for 4 nights and I had a really good time. Hotel owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Whatever you need, the staff is happy to go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea - it is a beautiful... more
Beautiful hotel, fantastic hospitality.
If you are going to Istanbul you probably can't get a much better deal than this. Ok, if you're loaded with money you might consider the Four Seasons but I doubt if any hotel at any price can beat the warm hospitality and friendly service at Asmali Konak. The hotel offers a free pickupservice from the airport. According to the hotel website they charge 20 euros for this service if you have a discount on the room, but we had a discounted price and they gave us the pickup for free anyway!! The driver even waited for almost 2 hours at the... more
Warm hospitality at Asmali Konak
My friends and I just returned from a 4-day stay in Istanbul, Turkey. We had planned for the trip months in advance and had been surfing the net for a decent hotel when we came across Asmali Konak Hotel. When I got to the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the newly renovated rooms. The owner, Mr Sardo (Sardo-Bay) was very warm and helpful. We needed 2 double rooms and he had his staff show us 3 of the available rooms for us to choose. After settling into our rooms, Sardo-Bay helpfully answered many of our queries regarding getting around... more
Keep up the good work
Though i gave this hotel an "above average" rating, i still need to give some remarks to improve its quality. one day we stayed a bit late in our room then we left and came back to find that the room was kept without cleaning. the showe is left open with door to the bathroom so the water can be all over the place during shower. the sound proofing is very bad that there's no privacy or intimacy. there's no tissue box in the room. and finally, why are trash cans or trash containers so rare in istanbul's streets though it's a very touristic... more

Very Nice Hotel
I would just like to say we had a very nice and enjoyable stay at Asmali Konak during August 2007, The owner picked and dropped us of the airport which was very good of him. We booked the Mansion room which was nice with lovely decor, the staff were extremely friendly and the owner would go out of his way to help us. We went on the bohphorus cruise which is defintely a must, and the views from the breakfast room accross mamara sea is very nice.. The best bit of it all was seeing the blue mosque listening to the adhan at prayer times.... more

Dear YourHighnessHalifax, Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope to see you at the hotel in the future again. It was our pleasure to accommodate you here as our "guest". Best Wishes, Asmali Konak Hotel Management

Beautiful hotel, Friendly staff, Great location
We arrived just before the Maghrib prayer time and were stunned by call of Adhan from the blue mosque. We were amazed at the location, walking distance from all the attractions; Blue mosque, Aya sofia and the bazaar. The staffs were all very friendly and made us feel at home. The hotel is small and clean with good breakfast and a nice view of Marmara. Rooms are well equipped; however the towel service was not great! The landlord himself offered to take us places, of course at an extra cost, but we decided not to use that service as we... more
Fantastic hospitality
We stayed at Asmali Konak hotel for our honeymoon, and we had a really good time. The entire staff was was friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome both in the hotel and to Istanbul. The best thing about our stay was that whatever we needed, the staff were happy to go out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. The highlight of the trip was having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea - it was a beautiful sight. Also, the location is excellent, it is walking distance from Istanbul's major sites and tram links... more
Charming boutique hotel
Because this hotel is newly opened and therefore not in Lonely Planet or the like we managed to get two double rooms at late notice. Luckily the other hotels were full which meant we were able to discover this little hideaway. Located down a quite little side street in Sultanahmet with a handy taxi stand just 20 m away this small hotel is clean, well located for the sites and our rooms were a reasonable size, had comfortable beds, TV and minibar. The A/C works well - we needed it - and the bathrooms are tastefully fitted out if lacking pegs... more
beautiful konak
very very nice surprise for our second staying in Istanbul! gorgeous room (the unique "mansion room") for just 52 euros (including breakfast)! in fact, almost a suite, also with jacuzzi in the bathroom. unfortunately we haven't tried it:) old but beautiful items in the room (an old wardrobe - like in Cehov's "The Cherry Orchard"), antique phone and clock, and a painted chest. like a real mansion or a "konak". very nice staff. the landlord himself welcomed us at the airport. and an amasing Marmara seaview at breakfast on the terrace. be... more
God hotel quality and service
We have just returned from a 4 days stay in Istanbul. We stayed at hotel Asmali Konak. The Hotel is located very close, 5-15 minutes walk, from the most famous attractions e.g. Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has few rooms and an very friendly an intimit atmosphere. The standard is very good in terms of cleanliness, service and attitude to the guests. We certainly recommend this hotel to other travellers. Staffan and Ingrid Fägerlind Kungälv Sweden
