Apricot Hotel

We had a great time at the Apricot hotel. We spent the last two weeks of March in Istanbul and stayed at this hotel the entire time. Hakan, Sevim and Omer went out of their way to make sure our time in their city was wonderful. We stayed in room #5. It has a great view of the Blue Mosque. The room is small by North American standards but big enough for two of us to live in for two weeks. It was nice to have a balcony and be able to sit outside when the weather permitted. We stayed at this hotel for three nights in April 2007...so I'm a bit late writing this review! but just wanted to add my vote and perhaps convince a few more people to choose this hotel. They deserve the business. We found that this hotel pretty much lived up to our expectations, having read a lot of reviews on this site in advance. we stayed at the Apricot Hotel from January 10-16 following recommendations on this forum... IT WAS EXCELLENT.. the cab from the airport was waiting for us there. The hotel staff (Hakan, the lady and the other man -sorry, dont remember names) were excellent. they were able to give us recommendations on restaurants, sightseeing, safety issues, etc, etc. One night I started to feel funny and they called a cab and took us to a pharmacy... they helped me with the medicines and everything. we also had a problem with our bank, and hakan came... more

Apricot is in a great location and has amazingly knowledgeable and helpful staff. They assisted with showing us how to get to the sites we wanted to see, how much to pay for cabs (even called a cab for us when we knew we were about to be over-charged), gave us great restaurant recommendations and were just fantastic to work with. we have just returned from turkey. stayed at apricot hotel for three nights. must admit it did not get off to a good start as the driver that was supposed to pick us did not show up. we call hakan, the owner and he asked us to take a cab to his hotel, and said that he will pay the fare. we had no problems getting a taxi from the airport. upon arrival, his worker, omar was waiting for us, with the taxi fare. the room that we had was small but only because there were 4 of us crammed in one room; we had a double bed and a couch which acted as a... more

We stayed at Hotel Apricot for 6 nights in September and the managers - Hakan and Mehmet were the absolute greatest! We stayed in the old building, which has now been taken over by new owners and is now called Hotel Aslan (and is unfairly benefiting from all the great reviews this building got when it was managed as part of Hotel Apricot!). This review is for Hotel Apricot, not Hotel Aslan! We stayed at the "NEW" APRICOT in late October. Yes, there is some confusion as the old one still has the name board and breakfast is around the corner at the old Apricot still (which was of extremely excellent quality...and quantity) but the New Apricot was certainly a treat. We were in Istanbul in Oct and Nov 2007 and stayed at the Apricot for a week but not at a stretch. After seeing the excellent reviews that the Apricot had on TA we decided to stay here. But from the beginning we had problems with our reservation, the rates, the dates etc. By the way, the standard rate of this hotel needs to be updated on TA. Apricot hotel es a very good , small and basic hotel that have at least four very good things to have into account in order to decide to book it in your next travel to istanbul. 1) PRICE. we were a party of three. My girlfriend an her sister. Mehmet offered us a rate of 80 EUROS for two (2) rooms including one free transfer from airport + breakfast. so actually it was 40E each room. 2) LOCATION. Centrally located, with only a short walk away from the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and other major attractions. We rarely took any transportation, since most of the attractions in the old city are within walking distance from the hotel. Rooms are small by North American standards, but they are spotless and well-maintained. Great hospitality, as cited by numerous other reviews here.
