Alaturka Hotel

We found this hotel to be a wonderful location in Sultanahmet, Istanbul, Turkey. On a corner of a street with quaint restaurants, tour offices and etc. It is maybe a 5 to 7 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The staff was most accommodating and helpful and spoke very good English. We had a room with 2 twin beds (single beds) which is not included on their room types on their website. Well located in the Sultanmet section, walkable to important sites. Rooftop deck excellent views and healthy breakfast site...but mostly very family like staff, helpful, knowledgeable ,security conscious and when I left jewelry and money, silly me, in my bedside stand, they mailed it back to me! honesty is a a trait to be praised worldwide. hotel alaturka has only 10 rooms so book it quick. i can't say enough about their staff. from the moment we walked in to the last minute before we boarded the aiport shuttle outta there, pick up is just across the street at the travel agency for 4 euro/person, they were nothing short of amazing and genuinely friendly. great location and you can see that for yourself if you dine on the open terrace with their great complimentary breakfast. you can almost reach out and touch the sea, ayasofia, and the blue mosque from the roof. it is also a... more

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. I actually chose it for the god reviews other guests had written. We booked directly by sending an e-mail and only had to give a credit card number to make the reservation. The price per night is excellent: we were given a rate of 60 euros night. The rooms are spacious, clean, and, whether you like or dislike the decoration, you can see that they care for it. We stayed here in March 07 and loved it. Location is excellent, very close to major attractions (Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia). Employees were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room that looked onto the street and it maybe a bit noisy for some, but no problem for us. All in all, great experience.

We were tired of staying at another hotel in Sultanhamet and needed a change of scenary for our second week in Istanbul. We toured many of the hotels in walking distance and this one was not only an excellent value but fabulous! It really stands apart from the other hotels in Sultanhamet. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and wished we could stay longer. Our room was on the 2nd floor on the street side. I recommend asking for a street side room as the rooms with the sea view may also include a view of the fire escape on the next building. The rooms look out on a cobble stone street and watching all the activity is entertaining. We paid 60 Euros per night and booked by phone directly with the hotel. No deposit or prepay was required. Alaturka Hotel was even better than we expected!!! We got the name of the hotel from a friend of my husband who stayed there two months ago and he was very happy with that. We booked the family triple for a four-day stay. The room was on the garden side and also very large. The beds were very very comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered lots of choices. I loved their home made cakes. Eating on the terrace with the gorgeous view was the perfect start to the day. We really enjoyed our stay in Ala turka.

I stayed at Hotel Alaturka last month with my girlfriends. Some friends recommended this hotel when we were in Cappodacia. It has a good price for a large room and a nice bathroom with hot water 24 hours. They serve the breakfast on the top with magnificent view (sea, mosques..). And it is quite safe place for woman traveller. We will certainly go to stay at Hotel Alaturka next time.

We have just returned from Cappodocia after a long bus trip. The tour was except the long way with the bus. We were so tired and sleepy, just took a taxi to the old area, sultanahmet. After being in many hotels and looking for the best price, we saw the hotel alaturka on the corner. The outlook of the hotel was so modern and seemed very expensive to us.
