Tryp Bosque Hotel

Stayed here for a 3-night stay in May. As other reviewers have noted, it's located 2-3 km out of the city but there is a very good bus service and a taxi rank close by. The room was adequate: two single beds pushed together didn't make for the most comfortable double bed and the bathroom was rather small. The pool area was nothing special but fine for catching a few rays before heading in to explore the city. The best feature was the excellent breakfast - an amazing choice for a 3-star hotel. There is also a pleasant outdoor terrace area at the front for drinks and snacks. The staff were also really friendly and chatty. We noticed that several airlines base their staff in the hotel which is generally a good sign.

There are a number of inexpensive restaurants in the area. We particularly liked RKO which is a little more upmarket (though still reasonably price) and fashionably decorated witha pleasant upper terrace and a broad Italian-influenced menu. Palma's gay life is also close by, though it's pretty quiet mid-week. The city itself is lovely with green parks, lots of outdoor cafes and interesting galleries.

My husband and I spent a week at this hotel, which is a large hotel in a residential suburb of Palma. You can walk from it to the town centre in 20-25 minutes but there is a bus just round the corner which will take you there for 1Euro20cents.

We were very happy with the accommodation, which was comfortable, clean and well looked after, and were most impressed by the staff who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful - a marvellous choice with cooked options as well as cold meats and cheese with lots of beautifully prepared fresh fruit.

The hotel was not particularly busy when we were there, which suited us very well. I can't say what it would be like when full, but I would definitely recommend it for an out-of -season break.

We stayed at the Tryp Bosque Hotel in Palma de Mallorca last weekend. The rooms are good, bathroom not too big, but adequate. The neighbourhood is quite lively, with many restaurants, pubs, etc. There's a bus that takes you to the city centre in 10 minutes.

The hop-on hop-off bus also stops near the hotel.

It takes you around the city in 1h20 at £13, very recommendable!

We felt very safe in Palma. People are friendly, serviceable.

We got a very good price for the room (59.30 Euro, breakfast excluded).

This city is certainly worth a visit!

We had a 6 night stay at this 3 star hotel, not expecting anything too grand, and were absolutely delighted with the hotel, room and more than adequate breakfast. Although a little out of Palma old town the bus (3) took you door to door from the very reasonable cost of e1.10. Would certainly recommend it and will certainly use it again.

I stayed there 2 nights for a weekend in September 2006.

The location is good, the bus stop (line 3) and the taxi stop is 50m afar. The employees are kind and helpful. The rooms are modern with balcony (not all), but clairaudient.

The pool is huge.

I've recently returned from a 5 night city break at this conveniently situated hotel, which is a few minutes walk from the town centre. I stayed there about nine years ago and was impressed with it then so hence the return trip. It has been extensively refurbished and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The buffet style breakfast and the restaurant al a carte meals were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Weekend trip to Palma booked with Globespan - v.good value for money and seamless experience all round.

As previously mentioned; the hotel is of a good standard and the area in which it is located, although perhaps lacking in the charm of central (old town) Palma, is convenient for the marina, taxis and pubs/eateries. The bus to the old town will cost 1.20 Euro or taxi will cost 5 Euros but it is walkable.

Although all the restaurants in which we ate were of a very good standard, I would recommend FORN in the old town. The food was excellent as was the service and interior.

We went to PURO one night for drinks and could have been in any 'style' bar in any town in the world but you should give it a go for one or two, if you want to see and be seen.

Things to do and places to see that I would recommend would be the train ride to Soller, a picturesque town and harbour 1 hour away and the Joan Miro Foundation - a piece of paradise hidden away in Cala Major. A bus that will take you there stops round the corner from the hotel, ask the staff at reception for a map.

I've been hosted in the Tryp Bosque during may 2006. Tryp is a 3 star chain of the Meliá Hotels, with quality assured.

The hotel is a large buliding (maybe more than 400 roooms) with indoor and outdoor pools, all the rooms have terrace, and the hotel has a nice terrace also to eat or drink something.

It is really near form the Bellver Castle and in walking dinstance (25 nice minute stroll trough the maritim bay) to the old town. The zone is full of restaurants (japanese, mexican...) and bars so i guess is plenty of live in the summer. The airport is not far (10-15 minutes by taxi, 20 euros)

Definitively, a great chance, not expensive and with cool multilingual staff, very usefull, good locates and with good services. If you've been ever in a maliá chain hotel you know what to expect.
