Stone Hotel

I would like to warn anyone staying at this hotel that books it from the internet. We arrived at the hotel after midnight on a Friday night and was told that the hotel had overbooked by 15 rooms. They then took us to a hotel that was drastically inferior. The rooms were half the size and were not completed. There was exposed wiring, gaping holes, and the carpet was not laid down properly. We booked a sea view room at the Stone Hotel and that is not what we received. This hotel was not worth the money we paid to stay at the Stone Hotel.<br... more

Be careful if you did your reservation from internet. I did my booking from internet but when I arrived, I was told they have oversold their rooms by about 15 rooms. So I was directed to another hotel, which was small and I think cheaper than the paid rate. It was in the morning and I don't have the energy to argue with the hotel reception. Thanks.

Just came back from four great nights at the Stone hotel Istanbul. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble - booking restaurants, money exchange, directions. The rooms are modern if a little dark depending on which omne you get. Although the hotel is situated on a quite street, which is close to all the main attractions, it is near a mosque so bring ear plugs if you don't want to get woken for morning prayers. After arriving to dramas of hotel overbookings (we were there for Easter weekend) and unsuitable replacement hotels (the replacement hotel wasnt even finished yet), we were delighted when the staff of the Stone Hotel took us back to their Hotel and gave us the jacuzzi suites I highly recommend the Stone Hotel for anyone looking for a lovely comfortable stay. I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a delightful experience in an ancient area of Istanbul.The hotel is perfectly situated for seeing all the attractions of Sultanahmet within walking distance.The hotel is clean,comfortable and provides everything you need for a perfect stay.The staff are just fantastic,they went out of their way to be helpful every day,they could not have been more accommodating.This hotel is 100% excellent !

I stayed at the Stone Hotel for the month of August. This was the fifth time that I had been to Istanbul, and as many hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers. The staff were great and nothing was a problem. The garden was gorgeous, the room great and the location fantastic. Thanks guys.

The hotel was conveniently located from all the major attractions of Sultanahmet, as its situated right of the Hippodrome on a quiet street. There is plenty to see and do in the area (museums, famous buildings, and bazzars) and everything was walking distance from the hotel. Our room was quite large and very neat with a big bathroom and tub---amenities included AC, a mini bar, and TV. I'm Karina from Argentina. I was there for a week at the beginning of sept. In the middle of my stay I had no problem to change my room from a single to a double because a friend came for some days. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable with it's facilities as AA and TV. The bathrooms are modern and big. The whole hotel is reformed to brand new. Down a quiet street off the large Hippodrome Square, right in the midst of the old Sultanahmet district, the Stone Hotel was a perfect base for our stay in Istanbul. The rooms were extremely comfortable (especially the bed), spotless, and they felt like a home away from home. Our room, a standard double, had remote-controlled cable TV, a mini-fridge, and a remote-controlled air conditioner too! Room was huge and recently refurbished, spotlessly clean and comfortable - a/c was brand new and efficient bathroom was spacious and shower good. Located less than 5 minutes walk to the main sights, bluemosque, hagia sofia etc Breakfast was basic but good A very comfortable stay with helpful and friendly staff and great value for money....ace!!!
