Just got back today form a weeks stay half board in Hotel Samos in Magaluf me, my partner both age 21 & our 5 & 4 year old daughters & our 11 month old baby 1st imperessions of the hotel were really good it looked really clean the room was an ok size he hotel was close to all amenities 3 min walk to the beach but we were wrong yes the hotel is clean the maids are fantastic they clean your room everyday the hotel itself is spotless but the pool is really really dirty & tastes like the sea we had ask a member of staff if they could clean the pool as we had not seen them clean it once & it was full of leaves, flys, wasps ect... & yet all the man did was pick up a fishing net & scoop out a leaf...??? The hotel was full of Russian's & German's. The food was SHOCKING!!! same thing every day dry chips, plian dry pasta that's pretty much it & im not a picky person when it comes to food but that i could not eat so we payed for half board but had to eat out everyday, the very little entertainement there was, was in spanish, my children went to the kids club once & it was finished within 15mins & Magaluf is not a place for children as there is nothing for them to do we bareley saw any children about but luckly on the 2nd night into our stay we were walking past a hotel (Fiesta Sahara) & saw that there was loads of children & heard some English entertainment so we went inside it was full of family's the entertinment was excellent my children really enjoyed it & so did me & my partner as the entertainment later on in the night is for adults too so we went there every night & if we ever did go back to Magaluf we would deffo be staying in the Fiesta Sahara i have read the reviews on here & they all sound shocking but we loved it & family's we spoke to there really liked it too but i would not reccommend going to Magaluf with children in the high season October was just right for us the weather was lovely & we even came back with a tan ;)

I went with a group of friends (4 girls 4 boys) and we were all 18, in the first week of august
Before we went we had read the reviews and were quite worried about what to expect as we had read alot of bad ones!
However, the hotel is definately not as bad as made out to be!
When we got there, there was 2 receptionists, one was very rude but we ignored him and the other one was very friendly and helped us out.
The rooms were great. We had 2 rooms of 4, so they were spacious and the beds were very comfy.
The room was cleaned every day with a change of sheets and a fresh supply of towels.
The pool area was good too, the bar wasn't too expensive, and the barmen were super nice. We knew about 20-30 people staying in the hotel so we all hung together by the pool, but you do need to get there quite early for a sunbed as there isn't that many.
There was also kids activities happening by the pool and good music being played. You aren't allowed your own water by the pool, ours got confiscated one day.
However, the food is absolutely terrible!! We went half board and ate breakfast there twice and dinner once! It was just revolting and there was 4 vegetarians in our group and all we could eat was chips! We ended up eating in Tom Browns every day which was about 7euros a meal so was really cheap.
Our biggest worry of them all was the reviews we had read about the security guard.
One night, we were all hanging in the corridor with lots of friends, and one of the boys in our group had his shoes taken off him by the security guard, we then went out and when we came back (around 3am) he went to ask about his shoes whilst we all sat in the lobby to wait for him.
It turned out the security guard had thrown his shoes in the bin but we got them back and he was very apologetic. BUT, the rude receptionist from the beginning of the holiday started screaming at us for being sat in the lobby so we all ran upstairs and he followed us yelling "COME BACK HERE I'LL BEAT YOU UP"
so we didnt hang around the lobby too much after that.
Although we had one bad incident I can assure you the hotel is really not that bad!
I just recommend not coming in too loud when you return (the hotel have no issue at what time you return).
The location of the hotel is AMAZING. Right next door to BCM but you can't hear it from within the hotel, about a 2 minute from the strip and the beach, perfect location, didn't have to walk far for anything at all!!

We found this hotel very pleasant indeed to stay in, with all staff very welcoming and friendly.
Rooms very clean, cleaning staff very helpful and everything you would expect.
On the down side be prepared to eat outside as the food was of a particular poor standard. We read some poor reviews before we left regarding the food but we put it down to maybe over fussy eaters, but those reviewers got it spot on.
Most choices of food were poorly prepared, under cooked with hamburgers one night being the main choice. Soup one night was like dishwater, absolutely appalling and Pizza, Spegetti were like you have never seen before, salty and horrible tasting. And the fish, well the less said the better.
The Head Waiter listened to our complaints and the food did improve on one night after he had discussions with the chefs.
Overall a very pleasant stay apart from the obvious problems in the kitchen department.

Just got back from a stay at the Samos and have to say what fantastic time we all had their was me and my wife our three sons 17, 14 and 5 and my mother.
Staff were the most helpful and friendly people you could ever meet and they really made you feel welcome.
My mothers wheelchair got a puncture a couple of days into our holiday and one of the waiters took the wheel home during his dinner hour and fixed it and would not take any money for doing it. Unfortunately it went again a couple days later and the hotel lent us one for the whole duration of our stay.
We were roomed on the side of the hotel that faced BCM and the noise is minimal.
Would definately stay at this hotel again.

Me and two of my friends went to hotel samos for a 10 night holiday. My first impression of it was that it totally smelt like a chip pan in reception. However rooms were clean and maid came every day. food was not good but it was eatable, was not much choice, fruit was all dried up and horrible, reception staff and security were very rude and nasty. The pool was far too small for the size of the hotel and not enough sun loungers for everyone to sun bathe. I would not reccommend this hotel to any familys, as there were lots of naked french men walking around naked in the corriders most of the time, even for lunch dinner or breakfast, one time me and my friend were coming back from clubbing and they all bardged into our rooms naked and was jumping on my other friend who was sleeping in her bed, i complained several times about them and nothing got done so i would definatley not go back. Most staff could not speak english. but We made the most of holiday but would give the hotel a 4 out of 10!

Stayed at Samos Hotel May 09. This was our 3rd time, but this time the food was disgusting, the first evening, the main course was a choose of Ham Burgers or Pizza !! (where was the meat/fish).Lots of chips & chips, pasta & pasta, ok for children ! There was plenty of salad/fruit but main food was very very poor. As for the breakfast I must admit,we did not even bother to try. Lots of people complained but staff decided "not speak good English Sorry" We booked this hotel for the excellent food we had on previous stays, but will never book this hotel again.

BEWARE of the night security officer...he is a complete and total nut, if you arrive early hours off ur nut as most of us girls did he would shout and scream at us to get back to our room, calling us [--] and scum etc.!
I wet to Magaluf with 3 of my girl mates all of us 18 and tbh it was BOSS...the hotel was okay during the day, we met a wicked barman called Tony/Danny - none of us could understand his accent! The pool was freezing, the food gave us stomach aches (we ended up eatin at KFC across the road)and we had to buy bottled water frm the shops dwn the strip!
The staff were immense (minus night security), rooms were cleaned daily, the maids were very polite!
There are pool tables, table tennis etc on the hotel but tbh we never really stayed in the hotel long enough to complain...if u r jus looking for a place to crash or chill then Samos wud b perfect!

This was my third stay at the Samos, Oct 08 will be the fourth and most definetley not the last. Im not sure what the knockers want for their money but it is worth every penny and I speak for my friends too. The Hotel is clean and kept that way. The food is great with loads of choice and no limits on the amount you want to eat. facilities are quite adequate. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Noise has never been an issue even with the nightclub next door and bars across the road, people should accept that this is lively resort. Our party are all male and in our fifties and have never had cause to complain. We would'nt stay any where else

We have stayed at the Samos hotel many times, mostly in the school holidays. We have had some great holidays there. All the staff are very friendly and will do anything for you.The three entertainment girls are fantastic with Adults and children alike. We have taken my godaughter five times now and she loves it there. Also we have booked again this year and we are going twice. We wouldnt stay anywhere else.Cant understand why people are moaning, its a 3* hotel if you want 4 or 5* it will cost you twice as much. The hotel in my view is very good for the money.
