Dave from Barnsley. Sth Yorkshire
This was my third stay at the Samos, Oct 08 will be the fourth and most definetley not the last. Im not sure what the knockers want for their money but it is worth every penny and I speak for my friends too. The Hotel is clean and kept that way. The food is great with loads of choice and no limits on the amount you want to eat. facilities are quite adequate. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Noise has never been an issue even with the nightclub next door and bars across the road, people should accept that this is lively resort. Our party are all male and in our fifties and have never had cause to complain. We would'nt stay any where else

I cant belive some of these comments... its is completely and utterly NOT THAT BAD.
I stayed at Hotel Samos the last week of August and i cant really say anything bad about it. Me and my best friend, both 19 went to Magalluf for a week and didnt really no what to expect. We love the mental night lifes, stayin out to all hours so Magaluf seemed ideal. we booked it very last minute so the hotels recommended for younger people were all fully booked. We wanted to stay in Fiesta Jungla as the rest of our 8 girl party were staying there, but due to how popular it is we couldnt fit it.
So we landed in Magaluf at 2am, got transfer to Samos as soon as we landed. On arrival we were a bit jubious as we are just two 19 year old girls staying by ourselfs as the rest of our larger party checked in at the jungla.
The first thing to say is Magaluf is really built up and everywheres lit up so you generally feel very safe.
We arrivied at the hotel.. still very nervous but we carried on to reception. We were greated by a lovely male receptionist. He asked how our journey was, where we're from ext. We payed 15 euro for the deposit box, which we'd recomend to be on the safe side.
He then directed us to our 2nd floor room with a smile. So first impressions were great.. deffinatly not rude or hostile. The room was nice, very nice bathroom, really clean great view of BCM Square, nicely decorated, good balcony. SO overall good!
Any how the next morning we got up early for breakfast, just had fresh fruit but large selection to choose from. After breakfast went back to our newly cleaned room- the maids are great! Its also nice the maids clean your room as apose to moving your personal belongings round which ive experienced at other hotels.
To be honest we spent no time at the hotel in the day as we visited the jungla everyday, as their pool truely is brill. The reps are absolutly useless though... ive never seen such a unhappy group of reps. ( If your on a girls/lads holiday DEFINATLY STAY AT THE JUNGLA)
That night we all went out on a mad one up to stip which was fab- def going back next year. Everyones so friendly, and i loved the facted i felt so safe. After visiting places such as Malia and Koz, Magaluf is by far the nicest SAFEST place to go.
At around 6am we returned to Samos, obvioulsy knowing its not an eighteens thirtys hotel we kept our voices down when going in. The securtiy guard was lovely, smiled and waved, the receptionist (another male) was very polite, even asked us how our night was and joked "good morning" with us.
So basically all these reports written on here are rubbish. Of course if your gona be loud and disruptive throughout the night what do you expect??? Its quite clearly not a 18-30s hotel so just quieten down when your there. To be honest im not to sure why families come to Magalluf for obvious reasons, but respect the fact some do,and there staying in your hotel.
Its right next door to BCM which is awsum.... definatly do the water and foam party.. whata night to remember.. brillant. ALso get your tickets before 12 clock so you can get all the free stuff.
So overall Hotel Samos is lovely, Lovely staff, Nice rooms, Very clean, good choice of food although i didnt really try much as im an extremerly fussy eater.
Just beaware of the fact its not an 18-30s hotel so keep your voice down after a night out.
Also quickly mention, the lifts are very confusing.... we kept going in at floor 2 pressing 0 to go to the ground level, but kept ending up on the number 7- the top floor. Very odd, but made me laugh.
Also we slept fine here, obviously you expect to hear the music from BCM and the noise from the out side but you have to except that, after all you are staying in Magaluff!!
So Teenagers if your looking for a mental one at Magalluf definalty go for the Fiesta Jungla, but if like us, its fully booked Hotel Samos is not a bad choice. Just have your respect for other residents and their respect you!!
BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!!!!

im writing this review on behalf of my friend, i went to magaluf and stopped in another hotel with my girlfriend for 9 days and my mate stopped in this hotel paid double what i did for 4 extra nights he wished he was in my hotel by the end of the holiday. the hotel looked nice and the rooms were clean and that was it. i heard the food was awful my mate eat out everyday.
and the hotel staff well were do i start after a massive argument i never went to see my mate in his hotel again we always met up at night. there is one receptionist small spanish lad really arragont everyone who has had trouble with him will know who i mean if it wasnt for my mates who stopped there i would have smashed his face in. we got told off for the music which was too loud supposidly. he took the stereo and said he would give it back tommorow then next morning went to ask for it back he said"end of the holiday" the worst one was when he aacused us of smashing a bottle in the lift (which we didnt do) we had a phone call telling us to come down he was really rude and aggressive.
this hotel is definetly not recommended for young people even though it is next door to bcm you cant even cough past the reception without being threatend. there are plenty of cheaper hotels or better 3 star half board hotels than this one. the staff seemed very anti english especially with my age group we were all tarred with the same brush. take my advice find any hotel in magaluf but dont stop in the samos unless you want to be threatend everyday

The location of the Hotel is brilliant, that being the only positive thing i can say about it. The staff are hostile, aggressive and very rude. On more than one occasion the night security were dragging people out of their rooms down to reception for no apparent reason! Me and my friends were respectful of people on our corridor etc and didn't cause any trouble what so ever, yet me and my friend were physically dragged down the corridor by security because there had been some commotion on our corridor
(which we played no part in) and were shouted and sworn at. We felt very unwelcome and quite scared at night times when security were en route. I would not recommend anyone to stay here, especially 18-30s as the hotel staff seem to target that age group with aggression and un-neccessary physical intimidation. The food is absolutely vile and there is a shortage in sunbeds. Don't waste your money, i wouldn't have my dog stay there.

We just recently got back from our 2 week holiday in Magaluf. We stayed in the Hotel Samos or as we renamed it Faulty Towers. Our advice, only stay here as a last resort, there are plenty other, more decent, cheap hotels in magaluf.
Firstly, we found the majority of the staff to be rather rude, especially the night staff and cleaners. However the bar staff and restaurant staff were pleasant and helpful.
On our first night, due to travelling all day we were starving and because subway and KFC are literally over the road we bought food and brought it to the hotel, we were greeted by the very rude, aggresive security man, who took our food off us and told us we werent allowed it inside hotel and had to eat outside, even though food was not available within the hotel in the early morning & it was ppouring with rain outside. On another occasion, we came in at about 3.30 a.m, chatting to a group of lads from the hotel, when we got into the lobby, the man on reception told us to shut our mouths and when we retaliated he told us to "p*** off". The same man also took our megaphone(which we had just bought for a laugh) from us, he physically removed it from our hands and when we tried to reason with him, he told us if he didnt want to give it back to us, he didnt have to.
The lifts are a joke. During our stay we got jammed several times in the door, breaking a watch, we also witnessed a lad getting his head jammed between the doors, when we reported the incident, the staff just laughed and shrugged their shoulders.
Magaluf is a 18-30 resort and with the hotel being situated in the centre, right next to BCM, it beats us why families even considered staying there. We were on the 7th floor, stuck with all the spanish families and old couples, who were forever banging on our walls and doors and telling us to shut up when we came home in the early hours of the morning, baring in mind we are 18 year old lasses. If you do stay in the Hotel Samos, ask to be put in a room on either floor 1,2 or 3. Here you will find all the youngsters.
The rooms however were very clean, but very dated. We had maid service every day, however every morning we were awoken by the maid at 9.30 am, using her key to enter our room, even though our DO NOT DISTURB sign was on our door. Also, on 2 occasions, our front door was left adjar. We only had one plug in our room, which gave frequent electric shocks. When we reported this to reception they shrugged their shoulders again and blamed our appliances.
The food was very basic, repetive and un-tasty.
Good points: In the centre of magaluf. Cheap, but clean.

I have recently stayed at the hotel Samos, it is in a great location for what we wanted to do, the food was average, the rooms were clean, the pool was nice etc. We were very pleased with the choice of hotel, until one night we returned to the hotel, earlier than normal (aprox 3am). We were outraged and upset to find the hotel security guard in one of our rooms. He was crouched down when we entered the room and he had plastic bags on his hands. He was not actually permitted to be in our room and could give no explanation as to why he was in there. Nothing was actually taken from the rooms but a few of our belongings were moved around. We had a safety deposit box, so if we didn’t, this may not have been the case. Luckily this night 3 of us had gone back, unlike 2 nights before when one of us had returned to the room. It was a scary experience and we were very disappointed with the response we got when we actually informed the ‘hotel manager’ who we later on found out was actually just the night porter. The day after we made sure we had a meeting with the actual manager and told him all about what had happened. He didn’t really say much and talked a lot about the noise that is made in the hotel, which is obviously going to be an issue as the hotel is situated next door to the biggest nightclub in Magaluf. Eventually he understood where we were coming from and for a group of girls all aged 18 it was a frightening thing to happen when you are on holiday. I think what made it worse was this was the security guard, someone who is supposed to make sure everyone is safe, and to find him in our hotel room we were disgusted and shaken. The problem did get resolved and the security guard did not return. Even though the security guard was removed from the hotel we were not offered anything to compensate for what happened.

!!WARNING!!! Do not stay at this hotel, especially if you are aged between 18 and 30 years. Do not be tempted by its location (next door to BCM). Our group consisted of three guys and two girls and we consider ourselves to be well mannered and respectable young people, however, we could not describe the staff in this hotel in the same way. All the staff, particularly the security staff are rude, arrogant, abusive and threatening. On the morning of our arrival we found one of our rooms had a large hole in the door and the patio door onto the balcony did not lock. We immediately reported this to reception which was greeted with indifference. In the early hours of the next morning we heard a commotion on the corridor and opened our doors to see what was going on, without any explanation several very large staff physically dragged us from our rooms and ordered us to pack our bags and that we was being thrown out. We were all completely amazed by this and tried to explain that we had no involvement with whatever they thought had been going on. We just received more loud abusive language and were then accused of putting the hole in the door. We explained that it was there on our arrival and we had in fact reported it to reception. We were told to return to our rooms and that at 8am in the morning we were to leave the hotel. We were all very upset and angry at the injustice of the accusations. In the morning the reception staff told us that we should consider ourselves warned and on this occasion they would allow us to stay. We were forced to sign a warning form which we did not understand as it was in Spanish, but we had no choice or we would have been thrown out of the hotel. When chatting to other young people in the hotel we were told that the previous occupants of our room had paid the hotel £100 for the hole in the door even though they too had not been responsible! We witnessed more young people being intimidated by the security staff during our stay and wondered just how much money the hotel had made from that hole in the door, and also selling empty rooms after young guests had been thrown out. On top of all this, the hotel is shabby and dated and the food is just ok. Please take our advice and steer well clear of this hotel.

The location of hotel samos is excellent. This is where the positives stop. Apart from the near proximity to all the needs of your typical Magaluf holiday, Hotel Samos offers nothing barr poor service, unacceptable food, rude staff, very rude cleaners with no respect for privacy and last of all poor management. My holiday was ruined when around 18 of our group fell ill with stomache pains due to food poisoning from the hotel's "buffet". It was also ruined by the disrespect from the service desk in the lobby. Generally you can get very rude tourists in magaluf, however you do get nice ones, which in our case applied to us. I felt however that the Spanish employees felt it their duty to percieve all young tourists as common disturbers of the peace. I even found myself being thrown out of the hotel for a period of time after sticking up for a friend who found himself being shouted at by inconsolable security for all the wrong reasons, i was shocked. Later on, after trying to speak to the manager the only notice i recieved was a very to the point, "[--] off"; this seemed to be the only word the staff seemed to be able to express. I have no doubt that to adults their respect is higher, but, if your are in a young group i advise against staying here, they will try to make your stay unwelcome. The last thing which i think i should point out is the cleaning system. On your door you have a tag which you can leave on "please clean my room" or "Please do not clean my room"; sounds simple enough right?? Afraid not, wheather its on clean or on dont clean, the cleaners feel it their duty to waltz in at 7am and wake you up. What if i was with a girl? Or i was a women and trying to get changed (they had some male cleaners)? I think its rude and out of order.
I hope people take this review into account.

Came here with 27 of our friends, with over half of us getting ill, one of my friends missing 4 nights out of 7 because of the hotels awful and disgusting food. Along with the disgusting food the hotel employees some of the rudest staff, with one of them threatening to get the police on me as they wouldnt give me the spare key to get into my room, which I was told to do instead of banging on the door. This was not the only encounter our group had with the staff staying behind reception one of my friends was pushed in the face by the same person again. It has been said in previous comments, but i feel i have to comment on the slow cramped lifts which just add insult to injury to this awful hotel.
The hotel has a few positives its location for clubbing and going out, and cheap beer thats it!!!
In a sentance, don't go to this hotel, look elsewhere!

Great location, but food was disgusting (10 of my group ended up with food poisoning!) and everyone i spoke to found the majority of the staff extremely rude unless you were Spanish! Added to that the lift system within the hotel is abysmal, no big deal if you're on the first floor, but when on the ninth...this is understandably a problem. In short apart from the location, this hotel really doesn't have much going for it, i recommend you look elsewhere!

Just back from 2 weeks in maga staying at hotel samos, 8 girls, all 17 and18 years old from Glasgow! The hotel was in a perfect location, was next door 2 BCM an literally 5 minutes from the beach and the strip! The maids were in everyday and hotel staff very friendly! Bar guy Tony is really funny!! Food was good, better than expected. There was a good choice! The pool is really nice and you can get sunbeds if u are up before 10-ish, if not, like us you can buy a lilo and sunbathe on that!haha! They put young people in groups on the 1s and 2nd floor, guttted if you think your going 2 sleep before 6 cause its crazy but such a good laugh! DO NOT go here if you are with a young family or are old(no offence) Definetly a hotel for young people!!
Would recommend BCM, boomerang & Bannas( aftr1am) as this is when the got busy! The beach is amazing but really busy! Bars Chaplins and Revolution are also really good! We all had a brilliant time and would go back 2 Hotel Samos again! Be prepared for no sleep, alot of drinking & hangovers! Best time ever!!Weather was soooooo hot!
Recommend it 2 anyone looking for brilliant holiday!!!! xxx

Just got back having had 7 nights at Hotel Samos, 5th August / 12th August 2007.
The location of this hotel is to the left of BCM which for people who don't know is the largest disco on the island. Oh dear you may be thinking bad choice of hotel I say not, it must be of very good quality sound proof, nothing is heard from the inside of the Samos or outside of the club - music wise that is. Next the hotel if you should decide to stay is well situated for everything Town/beach only minutes away none of this are we nearly there yet.
Turn right out of the Hotel and cut through the BCM passage walkway and you are at what is known as the square, everything you want is there for good family entertainment. Turn left and left again the beach is in front of you.
The Reception is to the left when you enter the main door, where the booking in staff are only to pleased to help. The food in the hotel is well presented as are the waiters/ waitresses and are multilingual, they have to cater for a wide range of people as well as people from other countries s take this into consideration the food is fair to good.
The hotel is in my opinion very clean, toilets are very clean, don't forget its the people who visit that make them dirty, bedrooms are basic but you go on holiday not to stay in the bedroom do you ? Must apologise to the newly weds.
Well overall go to this hotel and make party.

Excellent hotel staff so friendly, been going over ten years on and off, very clean and very safe for children. It is also in a beautiful location lots of very friendly bars in resort excellent for families and the safari park is a must.
I took my children there, now I am taking my grandchildren! We went self catering but would definitely recommend the restaurants on site especially the pizza one.
