Just arrived home from a weeks stay, what can i say we had a fantastic holiday food was excellent with a great choice both for b/fast and at tea time.we took our 13 year old son with us,a bit quite for him but beach was lovely, and he loved the pools and the p.c's which cost 2 euro for 30 mins on the net.The bus to palma stops out side the hotel about every ten mins and costs 1.10 euro. well worth a visit.Staff all very friendly and helpfull, room cleaned every day.
We made the mistake of reading reviews before we went and was left woundering what it would be like when we arrived and we had no problems. We would go again but without our teenager(too quite for him thats the only resson)
The weather was really hot too, loads of sun cream needed.
Not the best place if you find it had to get around lots of steps to beach very hilly.Illetas is not a cheap place so best to walk to local Spar and stock up on drinks!!
Just got back from the most...

Just got back from the most blissful holiday staying in Illetas at this hotel. Read the reviews, felt slightly apprehensive but was blown away! The resort is GORGEOUS! Beautiful beach, the clearest, shallowest warmest sea we've been to in a while and lovely surrounding scenery. Illetas has a few good restaurants and bars but is suited to a more relaxing holiday than a partyfilled one (Having said that Palma, Palmanova or Magaluf are only 10 min taxi rides away.) We were in the SC apartments over the road but found them quiet, clean and well-furnished. We still had a sea-view and full use of the hotel facilities which are great, good food and lovely pools but slightly dodgy entertainment!! The hotel bar and surrounding bars are expensive and we recommend stocking up at the local supermarket and taking picnics with you in the day as money does not go far in Spain anymore! Family-orientated - we think so. With a 2 year old in tow we had no problems. Getting around is easy with the very efficient bus system and I can honestly say we had a very stress-free time of it entertaining and feeding a toddler. Would (and have) recommended to anyone who wants a hot, sunny break somwhere beautiful thats only 2.5 hours away but doesn't want to break the bank.
NO PROBLEMS WITH THE BOOKING....

NO PROBLEMS WITH THE BOOKING. SETTING FANTASTIC. PEACEFUL. FOOD GOOD. BFAST BUFFET OFFERED GOOD SELECTION. ATE IN RESTAURANT TWICE IN THE EVENING AGAIN NO COMPLAINTS. BAR SERVICABLE BUT EXPENSIVE COMPARED TO OTHER ILLETAS RESORT HOTELS AND BARS. ROOM CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. BEDS GOOD. BATHROOM GOOD. STAFF ALL FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
MY ONLY NEGATIVE IS THIS WOULD NOT BE CLASSED AS 4**** IN BRITAIN-MORE LIKE 3***
DID VISIT OTHER 4**** HOTELS IN THE RESORT BUT FOUND THEM TO BE A LITTLE "STUFFY" FOR OUR TASTE.
ILLETAS AS A RESORT FANTASTIC IF YOU WANT TO RELAX-THIS IS NO BRIGHT LIGHTS BIG CITY RESORT

Stayed in the Penthouse apartment overlooking the sea. Fantastic views from the large balcony.
Snorkelling from the Hotels private jetty was great.
A two minute walk from the rear of the hotel past some very upmarket restaurants brought us to a very nice beach.
Over the last 5 years Illetas has become a very upmarket resort. The hotel has everything for an upmarket holiday, but I do agree it is not suitable for young children.
Palma Nova and Magaluf are not far away and cater very well for English families with children.

AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE!! That's the advice I would have liked to read before making a booking here! Overbooking specialists - we were just part of a chain of guests that arrived to find that the accommodation they had paid for was not yet available and the reception tried to fob us off with a crappy room in an old annex building across the street!
All the negative comments that I have read since returning are all true, believe me. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel - the service is nowhere near 4* .... in fact the whole place needs a thorough refurbishment, it's rather scummy and run-down. I've never been so disappointed by a hotel in my life, especially one that claims to be 4*
I only give a rating of 1 because 0 is not possible!

Must be one of the best holidays! Firstly, there’s beautiful scenery - to the left of the entrance there’s a fantastic sea view. Pretty much a great location because of the scenery and its close to quite a few restaurants and shops.
I was also impressed with the building and the facilities they have there - indoor and outside swimming pool, bars, games rooms, sauna etc.
Our room was a great size - tiny kitchen but we ate out mostly anyway - 2 bedrooms with ensuite, big living space, and sea view balcony. Wasn't too sure about the entertainment but everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Loved the cocktail hour - (buy one get one free) EVERY NIGHT! Great holiday overall.

Arrived at the hotel to a large queue of disappointed people - the reception staff although polite seemed totally disorganised.
Booked a 2 bed roomed apartment but they hadn’t got any - said they could give us two different rooms in two different buildings - although our kids are teenagers we still didn’t feel this was appropriate.
Eventually we decided on a one bed roomed self catering apartment where the kids had to sleep on a pull out sofa bed every night - we had to make up their beds every night, a bit like caravanning really!
They compensated us by offering half board which we accepted. Saying that the kids were happy to get back to England to their own beds after 7 nights on foam rubber.
The plus side is that the hotel restaurant & bar staff were excellent and the position of the hotel was in a nice quiet spot with stunning views out to sea.
The food was excellent, too. If only the reception staff could have better training and a better booking system, this hotel would be fine.

We booked this hotel with flexible trips through Thomas Cook TV arrived with a baby and a child at 7.30pm to be told they were double booked with a shrug of the shoulders as if that would be sufficient !!!
Reception staff said we could stay at their sister apartments for two days in Palma Nova then return to them as they would have space then, they then had the cheek to say the apartments we were going to was much better than theirs and more suitable for our children.
When we phoned our contact at Flexible trips we were directed to a middle man company that deal with complaints (what does that tell you!!)
We then had to arrange our own transport to Palma Nova from Illetas a taxi without a baby car seat, which is only available in a taxi if it is taken from the airport.
I would not risk my child’s life or break the law in Scotland by having him sit on my knee, but it seems the only option unless we wanted to sleep on the streets.
After we arrange a taxi we went to Palma Nova Roc Apartments and were given a room and told we would be going back as they had no room left if we wanted to stay any longer? The apartment we were given was full of personal photographs of someone’s grandchildren and we had the feeling we should not be there.
After two days we were told we could stay and move to another apartment in the block or go to Roc Illetas Apartments.
We then had the decision to return to someplace unsuitable for children (as stated by reception) or just unpack and enjoy the rest of our week. We decided to stay as the oldest had made friends and enjoyed the entertainment.
I will not be booking with Flexible trips ever again the company that promises “the up market wide range of facilities in a chilled and relaxed environment with the bottom line being that Flexible trips can get you, give you and guarantee you anything and everything you could ever want on the beautiful island of Mallorca” or then again maybe not, you decide.

Whilst the resort of Illetas is superb the hotel we stayed in was below standard. On arrival we was arrived we were staying in the building across the road from the hotel. The room was below 3 star standard. The double bed was actually 2 x single sofa beds pushed together.
The mattress was none existent and it felt like you was sleeping on a board. We were fortunate enough to have bunk beds in our room to use the mattresses from. It became clear that if you were English then you were sent to this building as the views were of a brick wall. No complaints about the staff as they do their utmost to help you.
The bar staff were entertaining and made sure you were well topped up!. The location of the hotel is excellent for a quiet relaxing holiday - just a shame the rooms weren’t.

Seaside of the hotel was lovely (the bit they show you in the photos). We booked the holiday because the blurb said quiet and with air-conditioning. The 3* self-catering studio flats are in a separate apartment building called Bouganvilla right next to a busy road across from the main hotel.
The studio apartment had a rickety noisy old fan in the middle of the room as air-conditioning (I call this air circulation!), the heat from the noisy refrigerator was overwhelming but if we opened the doors to the balcony the open-air unsupervised children’s play area of table tennis, climbing frame and pool table had very noisy children playing until midnight and the busy road (not at all quiet) would keep you awake at night and wake you early in the morning at 7am with the noise from the hydraulic buses, coaches and refuse collection or recycling vans.
The private shared beach was very small and access was via a narrow slippery path.
Fortunately we only went for a week (£1,200 including flights, delayed both ways, 4 am and 3 am respectively for arrival at destinations). I could not have stayed longer.
I enjoyed the sea, the staff were very pleasant, the actual hotel nicely laid out and the food was good but I would not return.
