Can't get enough
I came back a week ago and just can't get over the post holiday blues! I went online to re-book Club Voyage for February next year but ended up booking for next month instead. This is my 4th holiday to Turkey in 4 years Although we always book the 5* all inclusive tariff; some hotels are less 5* than others. The management of this resort will hopefully accept client feedback and iron out the teething problems experienced by guests this first season a.s.a.p. I was surprised to find that there was a fee for using the room safe I have never experienced this before; it seemed a bit tacky for this standard of resort! The locally produced wines were a bit of a hit/miss depending on where you ordered them from; some were very more-ish while others were like vinegar and affected the enjoyment of the meal (Tip: ask to sample the wine before they fill the goldfish bowl sized glasses) . The liqeurs and cocktails were refreshing mainly because the alcohol content was very watered down. The automated booking system for the A la carte resaurants was a bit challenging and should be better thought out to avoid frustration and disappointment. (perhaps choices could be selected prior to going on holiday and handled by the booking agent. Final details realised on arrival due to availability) Guest relation services were helpful to a point regarding this issue although don't bother them too many times!! The a la carte restaurants look the part and the food and service were great (if you manage to get booked) I went with my sister-in-law and our 5 children (eldest 19yrs - youngest 6yrs) they all enjoyed themselves and I never heard the words "I'm bored!" uttered once during our stay. They were treated very well by all the staff including the bar staff who served them beautifully decorated kids cocktails. When the weather was inclement one of the days we all had good fun in the indoor pool and spa area. It is a very big resort with plenty on offer including a cinema (evening program only. 11pm start, b.y.o. popcorn) and daytime/evening entertainment program. The live music in the jazz bar is very good quality although it can be a bit samey! I don't know how I would feel about it if I was there for 2 weeks? That said; the general atmosphere of the place is relaxed and yet stimulating. It has its fair share of "beautiful people" too! Plenty of eye candy! The animation team work very hard and went out of their way to get us involved in the different activities on offer which added to our sense of fun and belonging. I enjoyed the treatments on offer too. Alissan and Pa (therapists from Thailand) gave awesome aroma massage (we managed to block book at a discounted rate) adding to our sense of wellbeing and pampering experience. Overal, good memories were had by all. So much so we are booked to go back in 2 weeks time. Jammy or wat?
Verry good hotel
Verry good hotel for family with childrens. I don't recomand for young lovers.
Great place for holyday...
I've just returned from my holiday in this hotel, which was by the way my first experience in a foreign country resort.... So, let's get from the begin: Like almost anybody before me in this site, I've had trouble with my booking. I've payed for a family room with sea view, and they got me a room in the auxiliary building with a beautiful view to the relax pool ( which is opposite to the sea ) and the kids room to a even more beautiful view to the construction next to the hotel...After a little complain and a bad look at the clerks ( yes, they speak bad english if they speak it ... ) I was speaking directly to the reception manager Mr. Erdal. He was a very nice person, speaks the best english in the entire hotel and is very helpful. If you have problems ( any kind ) contact him. My first black point for the hotel was that i had to pay for the safe. In a 5* hotel I expect that to be free of charge. In a 3* hotel in Paris, I had it for free... Anyway, it's not expensive, just 3 EURO / day with a 10 EURO refundable deposit. The reception: 7 of 10 The bar is ok, if you go by yourself and get yourself the drinks. The staff is like inexistent or if you order something, you have to wait for a long period of time to be served. So go directly - faster and no stress. The cocktails are fake - a pinacolada there looks more like milk with something than the genuine thing, but after all if it's free you don't have to expect much. The hotel : 9 of 10 Is very nice, clean, pretty well maintained. The shops are very diverse, you have everything that you need ( no sex shop, though :D ). The prices are very high, for example a deodorant is 7 EURO and a 30 min at the Internet Cafe will cost you 2 EURO. If you really have to buy something you better go to Belek. In the hotel you have plenty of places to sit, and the attendants are more careful than in the reception. If you order something you will be served faster. But ask only for drinks, everything else you have to get it by your own. The rooms: 10 of 10 Because we moved from the auxiliary building to the main hotel in following day of our arrival, the room was not clean which was not such a big problem. We just left the luggages and went out to the beach. But when we returned it was already cleaned and ready. The room are modern and nice. The bathroom is ok, nothing to complain. We had a problem with the balcony door ( it didn't closed ), call the reception and it was quickly fixed. Restaurants: 10 of 10 Main restaurant : Plenty of food, very diverse and fresh. You have absolutely everything that you need. For non-smokers there is the Istanbul room, Europa and Asia is for smokers. A-la-carte: Good food, but you have limited options. You will get the apetisers and all sort of snacks , after that you choose only one kind of soup from 3 choices and one main dish from 4 choices. They also have kids menu, where i found unproper to serve cheeseburger in all a-la-carte restaurants... And of course, problems with the reservation system. At 9:00AM you will get a busy tone on the phone, because everybody is trying to reserve a table...And imagine that an a-la-carte restaurant have a capacity of maximum 100 places and the hotel have 600 rooms, do the math... The beach: 9 of 10 Big, clean, sandy. The was is VERY salty. My recomandation : buy goggles which cover your eyes and nose. If you dive under water or get struck by a big wave, you will have a 5 min pause because your nose will hurt and eyes will stay shut...The nice part is that because of the salt you will stay afloat even if you are not a good swimmer.Lots of sunbeds, most of them empty. So don't worry about this, you will have for sure a free place. Entertainment : 20 of 10 Maybe the best thing in this hotel is the entertainment team. One of the best. During the day they make the pool games and during the night they have performances on the amfitheater. Big marks for Cemal 'Jamal from Jamaica' and Rocky 'The muscle machine'. And there is another guy - unfortunatelly i don' remember him name or nickname - he acts a little gayish but is very funny and original. They have programs for two weeks which they repeat. I highly recomand their shows. And they speak in English, German, Turkish and Russian. Having Fun: 9 of 10 You have for free the oportunity to play ping-pong, shoot the bow, ride the bicycle, or choose the water sports. My big recomandation: take the catamaran ride, it costs 35 EURO, and it takes one hour. Just ask for Tolda and you will not regret. Speaks good english, a very good person and will take you in a eco-friendly ride. The other activities are: aquascutter, parasailing, banana-ride, but they cost you 35 EURO for 15 mins... Staff: 5 of 10 The cleaning team sucks, there were days when they didn't bothered to clean the room of if they did they were mocking. The minibar was also refilled when they remembered... The staff from the restaurants have dirty shoes, some have even broken shoes, their shirts were stained with food... Not a good view... Some speak a little english, but you better just say what you want and nothing more "1-2-3-4 icetea, cola, sprite" Don't get too deep with long sentences, you will confuse them....Be short - it works and they don't mind. The city - Belek : 8 of 10 The city of about 2km from the hotel. You can walk , get a cab or the bus-train. The walk is free but exhaustive ( especially during the day ), the cab or the bus-train is 1 EURO / person. The locals don't pay for the bus-train , so if you see a local getting in and don't pay - don't complain... In the city you have absolutely all the shops that you want, don't be surprised to see that there are no price tags. In Turkey, everything is for bargain. For example in a souvenir shop the clerk initially said 60$ and after a little bargain he droped to 40$. Another unique aspect is that in Turkey, you can pay everywhere ( and i mean everywhere ) in US dollars or in EURO. In a 7 day stay i never saw how a turkish lira looks like... But it's better to have both USD and EURO, because some will give you prices in USD some in EURO. And the exchange rate differs from shop to shop. The official is 1.37 USD for 1 EURO. So, enjoy your trip and hope that this helped. Cristi
Can't Quite Say Excellent ...
We are a British family living in Germany and we got a fantastic deal on this brand new hotel for 2 weeks all inclusive. Good airport transfers set us up for a great holiday and arriving at the resort you are made to feel very welcome. Staff generally spoke adequate English (the management spoke excellent English), in spite of the fact that most of the guests were East Europeans (the western Europeans tended to be german, Dutch and a few French) Our first few days were fantastic - the 5 pool areas, the a la carte restaurants - booking system was no problem at all - don't believe all this 9am on the dot rubbish that is being posted. Alternatively, do not book and just pitch up in the evening - that was working for others. The only criticism that could be levelled at the room would be in the direction of the air conditioners, one of ours must have been a shower in a previous life. Housekeeping was superb, laundry though was pricey - just take more pants ... Our disappointment came with illness - possibly from the fantastic kids slide pool or baby pool where a number of younger guests were seen naked or in nappies, and where 'soupy-poo' (a term from our youngest) was found on the stairs up to the top of the slides. These stairs were covered in some kind of germ absorbing astroturf which though none slippy, was truly gross. Anyway, our stay was then punctuated by a couple of nights in the local Aspendos Hospital as our youngest got sick big time, sadly, my wife then contracted similar - whilst in hospital. George and I continued at the hotel, struggling on in paradise, as you tend to do..... Enjoying the pool activities, the mini club/kids disco's and the entertainment team shows in the evening(which basically were a series of politically incorrect parodies exploiting a midget called 'Rocky' who was one of the 'Ents Staff' !!! - all done in the best possible taste as Kenny Everett may have said years ago.) The only criticism that I could make of the hotel was that they were overly fond of playing Michael Bolton tracks at full blast on the sound system - all at a time when Turkey's election and human rights record is being closely scrutinised - this can not help. The kids club was very caring and the girls really looked out for the kids. Mervela was super, she spoke fabulous English and said really good things about her employer. Club Voyage seems to be a top place to stay in Turkey. Just don't expect the schedule to be running on time or as displayed. The kids soccer was too mixed - 13 a side with the ages 4 to 16 on the same small pitch ! The beaches and pools (slide pool being the exception) were wonderful and clean. There were so many sunbeds and many of high quality construction and the piers with relaxing decks were wonderful. Bars were well staffed and generally friendly as were the restaurants where the food was good. Loads of choices and generally hot. salads, cheeses, vegetables and fruits all plenitul. After hospital my wife and youngest were ultra cautious about everything and on site doctor was not great in English - at 16 euros per visit. Belek is basically a place to visit if you fancy buying fake soccer shirts and getting ill from a dodgy doner but there is not a lot more to it. Could not even find a Turk trying to sell me a carpet made by a collection of virgin nuns in a monastery at the top of a local mountain. Got a fake Barca shirt though ! They are trying to turn this bit of Turkey into the new Costa del Golf and Colin Montgomerie's 'signature' course is being constructed next door to the hotel - seemingly by a million elderly women pushing wheelbarrows and being overworked. I may start a new website, [--] Seems a bit hot for summer golf but it is all shaping up nicely. Hotel games room and internet facility, like the laundry, was a quick way to make some money back from the punters So there we have it, a quick overview of the place. We will not be going back and the tent will be dusted off for some Alpine camping next year but this decision is not based on the quality of the Club Voyage product - it is great. As to the other punters, the Eastern Europeans and Turks generally do not expect to wait or queue for anything. They find rudeness to the staff of the hotel to be acceptable - hearing a please/thank you is rare. Looking around at the opther guests you get the feeling that there is money knocking about - just how much of it is legal, don't ask !!
honest and fair review
we have just returned from a one week stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. we travelled as a couple ( late thirties) arriving at 00:30 to a friendly welcome and efficient check in. We were then transported, along with our luggage, to our bungalow. the porter waited to ensure we were happy with the room before taking us to the main building to ensure we could get somthing to eat at the midnight buffet. (00:00-01:00) The bungalow rooms are very nicely decorated, in a modern style, and of ample size for two. However we thought it would be a bit small for its intended use as a family room for four. All the equipment worked perfectly. If we were really fussy we would comment on some of the finishing details but we were not buying the place just staying for a week. The garden's are still immature as it is a new hotel but still look good. The resident sculptor has produced many works which are interspered throughout the grounds and buildings. All the area's with resident access are kept clean and tidy. the small amount of work still being done, as far as we could tell, was to the garden area which did not cause any disruption. All the staff were pleasant and polite. Some had better english than others although most would start to converse in russian fist but this is understandable given that most of the guest are from Russia. The food is of good quality, lots of choice and what appears to be a never ending supply in the main restaurant however we found that the noise made it a little canteen like at busy times. The al-a-carte reservations system makes no sense at all. To make a reservation you have to phone 8888 from your room between 09:00 and 12:00 which seems fine until you realise that all the reservations are taken by 09:10 so if you fancy a lay in you will not get a reservation. the automated service for booking can be frustrating as you go through the whole system before you find out there are no reservations available for your chosen restaurant and then you have to start again, including the time you would like to eat and the number of people in your party. We had an excursion booked and thinking ahead we asked at customer relations if there was a way of making a reservation any other way as we would be leaving at 07:30. we were told all they could do was to wait and see if there were any cancellations as the reservation had to be made from the room phone.when we got back to the hotel after our day trip we got told by customer relations that they were unable to secure a table for us. however when we got to our room a note had been left stating a reservation had been made for us. Out of a 7 night stay we ate in the al-a-carte 4 times of which we could not fault the food or the service. The entertainment for the children through the day appeared to be very good but did not take over the whole area. if you want time to relax the adult only pool and pier's are excellent. If you want to spoil yourself you can hire a pavillion for the day where you get personal service and 25% discount off any spa treatments, we had a bali massage in the pavillion. The night time entertainment was a bit of a mixed bag and really depends on what you like. we found the Jazz bar (22:00-00:00) and adult pool bar (00:00-02:00) to be good but did not like the amphitheatre ((21:30 until show finished )and the late night disco ( 02:00-07:00 )was not used by many even though the music was good.Because different things are open at different times you get the feeling that you are being ushered around the complex if you want more than sitting in the main building or lobby bars. As this was our first time at an all inclusive we have nothing to compare it with but think as a youngish couple we are not suited to this type of holiday as it limits what you see of the locality however we were able to enjoy the surroundings and have a very chilled out holiday.
Wonderful vacation
We have just returned from a week at the Voyage Belek Select, 2 families with one 11 year old boy and the other with a boy with the same age and a girl with 8. The hotel is magnificent, we tried to book the bungalows (this in end of May) no availability anymore, we stayed in a large room in the building just in front of the relax pool. Here and in the main pool you have lots of sunbeds (it's the 1st time I see in August sunbeds for everybody), a nice beach with water's temperature around 29º C, 2 wood platform decks where you have also lots of sunbeds - the platform on the left is for adults and children; the one on the right is only for adults, good for those who don't like to walk on the sand. A good range of restaurants a la carte, besides the buffet one, plenty of variety of food, (pitty you cannot find bacon at breakfast or pig meat because of their religion), anyway if you succeed to automatic reservation on the a la carte restaurants (because you really need to start at 9:00, like other members have already said everything is full by 9:15h). We succeeded for the mexican and for the italian ones. Really good quality, the italian was really first class! Staff is friendly although not speaking much English, (no French, or Spanish - they always ask where do you come from, when we answered that we were portuguese, they always spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo, Figo, etc. The hotel clients are from Russia, Turkey, Deutschland, some of Israel. The most unfriendly are in fact the russian ones. The kids loved the pools, slide & splash, they didn't want to try the kids club but at 4:00 p.m. the boys were everyday there to play football. If you do not want to shop in the hotel, you are close to Belek town where you can buy everything, shops opened until late in the evening. Animation team not as good as expected. Hotel very clean, all in all a very good all inclusive, we had a fantastic time there and would highly recommend this hotel.
Would return next year.
Arrived at Club Voyage Belek Select in the middle of the night, only to be told 'There is a small problem- the hotel is full'. We were then allocated a family room (all four people in one room, on person sleeping on a sofa) instead of the two bungalows we had booked. The next day we complained to the reception staff (few of whom speak much English) and were transfered to our booked accomodation. After the bad start, we began to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Weather was fantastic, and there was always something to do, such as banana boats, Jetski, step aerobics, water gym, pool games... Food was overall very good, but the standard varied between restaurants, with the Chinese probably being the best. The booking system is awful (everyone has to race to the phones at 9.05am) and it once managed to book us into two restaurants on the same evening (the staff claimed this should have been impossible.) The buffet was excellent, with plenty of fresh fish and fruit available. Be careful to watch for que-jumpers, who reguarly try and elbow you out of the way. Room keys were a nightmare- deciding to cancel themselves at regualr intervals, so we would be queing in reception at 2am to have them replaced. The maintainance team were also slow to respond, needing to be asked four times to fix our air conditioning which was pouring out water. Entertainment was fantastic. The shows by the entertainment team (Talek, Gemal, Anna, Borak...) ran every evening, with plenty of opportunity to get involved. The beach club also played music (fromj resident DJ Mosquito) every evening untill 2am, a great place for teenagers. We're all going to rememer the club dance for a long time 'Clap...and raaaave!'. The spa was excellent, with lovely staff (especialy Southwark and a Bulgarian girl named Soyja.). Once again, few spoke english, and we had to book all appointments in german. The vast majority of guests are German, Russian, Israli, Dutch, or Turkish. During our visit, we only found around four other British families (two of which were travelling with us). The hotel was clean and well-furnished, with the mini-bars being fantastic due to the hot weather. We've never stayed in a place where the maids are so honest- one returned everything we had accidently forgotten whilst packing, and they will ask them to sign to say if you've given them anything. Very easy to travel into nearby Belek (one Lira on a dolmus bus), and a good range of day trips are available, such as water rafting. Overall, we had a great holiday, as there's always something to do, and the staff are so friendly. The problems we encountered are probably due to the fact the hotel is brand-new, and should be ironed out over time. We would certainly consider returning.
terrific attitude
Just came back from a ten days vacationing at this great hotel. Clean sand, clear sandy sea waters, large rooms, a variety of food, lovely kid's club, delicious variety of food and cuisine, friendly and professional entertaining animation team and above all great service from all the hotel staff. One remark though, it was almost impossible to reserve at any of the a-la-carte restaurants. Strongly recommend to families with kids.
Honest Yorkshire Review
Just returned on the 3rd August, after suffering the hottest weather in Turkey for years, 50 Degrees. Overall Very Good, Not many English families which is not always a bad thing, lots of Russians, Turks and other Europeans.Animation team are very good (Rocky) as is the service in general at the bars ( Head bar man at beach bar) etc. Food in the main eatery OK, other restaurants are first class (Italian excellent) although the automated booking service via telephone is rubbish there is a way around this ! beach first class loads of sunbeds both at beach and various pools, no towels out before 8am as a rule,Water slides OK, Hotel can be a bit quiet on a night ( Lack of English people), jazz bar OK as is the upstairs seating area which is cooler, tip 2 / 3 euro and you wont go wrong around the pool and bars with a better service provided.be carefull of the prices charged in the hotel shops as these differ depending on the customer and the time of day, taxi from hotel to Belek centre 5 euro lots more choice and loads cheaper, try the market on Saturday which is very busy ! Relax pool near reception is quiet, sunbeds available most of the day and a bar. A very good, clean and tidy hotel which offers a decent level of service overall. Yes there are a few teathing problems but nothing major, just go with the flow, Dont forget to smile and be nice to the staff ( odd tip here and there , not much ,2 / 3 euro) as they are not used to this with the Russians and others in general been the majority guests, this is not a problem and the staff seemed to like a friendly English face with most of them speaking the lingo.
