Cala Blanca Hotel Reviews

Submitted By: Mr P SayeThe island is not at all commercialised so ideal for people who want a quiet holiday.
We looked for the cheapest holiday we could find, being on a very tight budget, yet we couldn't have asked for a better holiday. Brilliant.

Submitted By: Mrs DebRooms smallish, basic but spotless. Pools lovely and quiet.
Hardly any british guest mostly italians - which was great - we hate being in a hotel with football shirt wearing brits!
Entertainment staff, Helen, Ulrika and Antonio all worked very hard and were very good - not in your face all the time but enough to keep it all ticking over.
Very quiet resort - which we liked. We would definately go back.

Submitted By: Mr P SmithWent into get some food as we read snacks were available till 12, well that’s a joke, its cold chips and anything else left over from dinner - that’s dinner not tea.
Town was dead at this time of year but we was very lucky on the weather. Cala Blanca is a nice resort so long as you don’t want to do nothing and I mean nothing.
The beach is 10/10, shame that Cala Blanca hotel is so close it really was that good. I still have the photos of about 1000 ants over the fruit stand in the dining area and all outside the dining area, really 1000s.
One more thing, never been able to drink so much and then when the football was on one night myself and a few from hotel went to bar up the road and felt tipsy after a few bottles of San Miguel. The bars must of been watered down, really I am not making any of this up.
I remember reading the reports after I booked it and hoped all was wrong but really they're not, it is like hell this hotel is.
If you need the safe make sure you take a safe full of money just to pay for the hire of their safe, mega bucks.
When I complained to the Airtours staff after my daughter was sick for about 36 hours and I was ill all they said was don't matter your going home in a couple of day's - what a joke.

Submitted By: Mrs M ChamberlainHotel: Food; if you are vegetarian don't even think about this hotel. To quote 'we don't cater for you'. Even salads had meat in them, and don't bother asking - you will be told 'no meat' sometimes when it is obvious that there is meat in the dish (we veggies are from another planet remember). If you like good English tea - take your own tea bags or buy Liptons once you get there. Same applies of the coffee - it is VERY strong.
Entertainment: Actually, this was good. The animation team work really hard both during the day and evening (although there were complaints about lack of organised entertainment for the children). Some of the evening guest entertainers were excellent. No smoking in the hotel was a massive bonus, but you do have to run the gauntlet of smokers just outside the door to the pool area.
Noise: Although signs are up about 'no noise after 11 pm' - forget it. It was certainly not enforced when we were there and the rooms overlooking the pool had to endure noise until the early hours of the morning. Problem with this being an all inclusive hotel is that there was a lot of drink induced 'merriment'. Cleaners noisy in the morning too.
Cleanliness: Overall, not too bad. However, our room was not cleaned particularly well in the week we were there - especially the floors and bathroom. Clean towels every day.
There were loose steps (internal wooden staircase) which was disconcerting when you were coming down them. Also the stair rods holding the carpet in place were not fastened in properly. We pointed this out, but nothing was done.
Staff: with the exception of reception, the staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be. Reception staff could be rather curt and lacked basic knowledge about the area.
Would we go again? To the resort, yes. To the hotel - no. To Menorca? Definitely.

Submitted By: Miss S JORDANThe rooms were not cleaned to a good standard and the food was appalling. The manager was not interested in listening to our complaints. Cala Blanca itself was a quiet resort with only one shop, therefore the prices were over the top.
I would visit Menorca again but would be very choosy where I stay. The residents were friendly and the island is kept very well.

Submitted By: Miss S HambidgeWhen we got to the hotel we could believe how many cleaners there were, polishing and cleaning all day long.
And you only get drinks in plastic cups in the day. In the evening you get glasses. There were no broken tiles in the pools.
The staff are very friendly especially Anna and the guy who works with her (can’t remember his name) they do all the activities and evening entertainment. The rooms are very nice as well.
I also read somewhere the cleaners were stealing from rooms and that people had food poisoning. This never happened while we stayed. Some people had a bad tummy but that was cause they drunk the water.
All in all we had a brilliant holiday and would recommend it to anyone.
" The hotel is located around a 10... "
Submitted By: Miss L CampbellThe hotel itself is nice although quite basic. The one downside is that all rooms are located at least 1 flight up & there is only 1 small lift. The rooms are a good size & have good sized balconies. Your towels in the room were changed as often as required - just leave the dirty ones in the bath when you require clean ones.
The restaurant was open almost all day - breakfast 8-10am, lunch 1-3pm, dinner 6-8pm & snacks all day in between until midnight. Food was quite simple & repetitive, usually consisting of 2 main fish/meat dishes and a choice of salad, veg & pasta. Beware if you like toast in the morning - the toaster is self service & takes forever - half the battle is just to get near it in the first place! Packed lunches are also available if you're planning a day at the beach. Snacks weren't really up to much - usually left overs from the night befores dinner! As usual the tea/coffee machines were dreadful! The only drink available after breakfast was water or wine as they switched off the juice machines!
The hotel bar was a real eye opener! Considering the size of the hotel the actual bar was tiny with no more than 3 people serving at a time. As you can imagine the queues were enormous. During the day it was only the pool bar that was open, even then you were lucky to get served. Beer drinkers beware! I hope you like drinking out of tiny plastic party cups because that's what you get! You would have to order at least 4 to get a full pint. We thought this would change at night when the lounge bar opened - wrong! All drinks all day were served in the same tiny plastic cups. As for the cocktails - I wouldn't bother if I were you - unless you like the press the button out of the machine variety! Yuck!
Entertainment at night was OK - Robbie Williams tribute night, prize bingo & movie quiz night were the ones I remember.
The pool area was a good size with plenty of space for sun worshipping. The pool itself was rather small, but adequate, as was the children’s pool. Don't believe all you read - I didn't see any broken tiles!
All in all we really enjoyed our holiday in Cala Blanca. The resort was relatively small but perfect for a relaxing family holiday!

Food ok for adults but not the best, certainly doesn’t cater for kids - left overs from lunchtime - cold pizza. No ice-lollies just ice-cream that couldn’t be taken out of dinning room. Entertainment poor - magician eating razor blades - great for kids! A lot of theft from rooms - but denied by management. Would never visit Menorca again. <br>

holiday didint get off to the best start....we went to pick our tickets up from the airport (late deal) waited at the thomas cook desk and no one was there to serve us...she turned up very late which had us running round right at the last minute (no apologies from her for bieng late!!) then she had problems with our tickets...they hadnt been printed for us? so we then had to wait for them to be written out (as if we wernt late already!)when we finally arrived at the airport in menorca, thomas cook didnt have us on the coach transfer list...what a joke!
we arrived at hotel cala blanca all was fine at arrival....went up to our room to unpack, nice room very clean but not even a hairdryer as standard!
My fiencee had a wash in the basin with the bathroom door open while i had a cigarette on the balcony and as i opened the balcony door the wind blew in and the ceiling above the bath came down (metal) and gauged the bath, god knows what would of happened if she was in it!
The food was ok,just chips and some meats everynight, not a great choice.
As alot of people said about the snacks..yes it is left over cold chips from lunchtime-not good.
pools were good but a tad small.
cala blanca itself was a lovely clean place but there isnt anything to do.
Spanish people there were very rude,we were gobsmacked by them a couple of times, they dont make you feel welcome atall and stare at you weirdly all the time, and the hotel was full of spanish tourists.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone but only if it was much cheaper to stay there and there was more to do. thomas cook had no organisation and we had no apologies from them atall.
Good for: Beach
