Amara Beach Resort Side

Absolutely wonderful - total luxury without feeling that you're being 'hovered overm by the staff.' The rooms are big enough, bathrooms fully stocked with a huge array of products (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser, tissues, wipes etc.) The hotel is spotless and mainly built from glistening marble, loads of bars and quiet coffee lounges and reading rooms. 4 outdoors pools, 2 indoor (1 in spa area), good games room for the kids, nightclub and a bowling alley. I have just returned from a 2 week all inclusive stay at the Amara Beach and thought it was a lovely resort. What is also handy is that you are first to be dropped off after transfer and last going back. Like some of the other reviews, the English are a minority here, however numbers are increasing now the hotel features in Thomson brochures. Rooms are a little small with twin beds pushed together, however this was our only moan. Both pools were nice but again the sunbed snatching gets a little tiring after a few days. Spent 1 week at the resort in August 2009. Really could find nothing to find fault with. The food was varied daily and offered a huge choice to suit all of us. The Hotel has cleverly created lots of different areas, so if you want to sit quietly reading a book in cool air conditioning, you can go to the lounge, or the spa area, or if you want fun and entertainment then the lower pool is the place to be. Would reccommend it and will certainly be paying another visit.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Amara Beach. Hotel excellent, very clean, food very good, plenty to do. Double rooms a bit small and the sunbeds around the pool are taken by 07:30 every morning however, the staff will always acquire beds for you. Limited number of Brits, probably 20% of occupancy however, should increase now the hotel is a Thompson destination. From checking in right through to departure this was our best Thompson Platinum experience. Upexpected upgrade to a Junior Suite through to great cuisine in a location which is undersold in the brocure. The staff are great, the 'all inclusive' is 'all inclusive' unlike neighbouring hotels. Well my holiday started badly with a delay at Birmingham airport and when we eventually arrive in turkey we were put on the wrong coach to our resort hotel so what should have been a short 45 minutes transfer to the Hotel ended with 3 hour site seeing tour of the Turkish country side pity it was in the middle of the night and we could see nothing But It did start to improve once we arrived at the hotel. Just come back from a great week. Everything was great people, very friendly and service first class. From May 1 Thomsons have opened it up to the British although still many germans there were 40 Brits when we left. Weather superb. Location well outside Side not walkable but there is a very good local bus service into Side and also Manavgat for only 3 TL. Would recommend you use these rather than the overpriced trips. What an amazing experience. I travelled to this resort in February 2009. Although this hotel was mainly dominated by German people, everybody including the staff were extremely helpful and respectable. The food was amazing, they had a seperate section for childrens meals and a section for people on a diet. The rooms were lovely. With a good size bed and flat screen TV's in every room. Just returned from the Amara Beach Beach Resort in Colakli, Side and I have to say it was perfect! On arrival we were met by a young girl with Turkish Delight and a very friendly Receptionist who couldn`t do enough to make the check in as easy as possible.
