Hotel Villa Mahal

Stayed for 4 nights at the Mahal last week after booking independantly of the UK tour operator. The hotel has magnificent views of Kalkan bay and offers free boat service to the town from its own beach club. Room (201) was lovely if a little minimalist - very little storage and blinds to the large windows. 2 were broken and i would have expected them to be repaired automatically (when paying $300 per night) but they remained broken for the length of our stay. It was really wonderfull.I would like to say that if Villa Mahal doesn't exist i wouldn't convince my wife to get marriage.By courtesy of incredible view of that place and also very romantic atmosphere ,my exgirl friend's sentiments changed in 7 days. Recently returned from a truely amazing trip to the Villa Mahal in the small resort of Klakan in Turkey. Normally we would prefer to go out and explore, however this property just begs you to stay and soak up the wonderful atmosphere. The view from the Cliff House Suite is to die for Simon

If you are planning to stay in Kalkan, this is the location to do so. All of the rooms have a view of the bay, village, and have balconies where you can enjoy fantastic views (not to mention the sunsets)! The facilities include a wonderfull pool with plenty of space for sunbathing, as well as a beach club on the shore that contains full food and beverage service, and a rooftop terrace to enjoy dinner and breakfast. I have just come back from a 4 day stay at the Villa Mahal. It was a great place to relax after a week hiking our way though the Lycian Way and sailing down the coast on a beautiful gulet called Godzem 1. The rooms were lovely and the view was fantastic. Howerver, I agree with a previous reviewer's comments about the service. At the actual hotel, the service was fine, although not super attentive. We have just spent a week at Villa Mahal and can't praise it enough, the family greet you on arrival with a candlelit meal on the roof terrace(just when you think that all you want to to do is go to bed)and the view is stunning by night and by day. It was our anniversary while we were there and they made us feel very special.The hospitality was first class and we will be returning next year. I recently stayed at the Villa Mahal for 7 nights with my wife. We booked and travelled with an English package holiday firm called Exclusive Escapes and in fact about 9 of the 13 rooms available from Villa Mahal are sold by this company. Now there are package holidays and there are package holidays - Exclusive Escapes were tremendous, from start to finish. 100% recommended. The first stop from our flight from San Francisco, Oct. 2004, was the Villa Mahal, in Kalkan. My wife and I spent the next 6 days in a dream. The hotel is very atractive, our room was extremely comfortable, the views breathtaking, the hotel food excellent (in two beautiful venues), and the staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. IT IS a long way down to the sea, but the hike down and back up kept my diabetes well under control despite all the wining and dining I did there. Villa Mahal has to be one of the most relaxing and friendly hotels we have ever visited. 2004 will be the 5th year we have been lucky enough to stay here. Its position, high up above Kalkan bay is stunning. Rooms very well appionted and comfortable, all with fantastic views across the bay. Really friendly and helpfull staff make this a wonderful place to stay.

I've been to kalkan, villa mahal two weeks ago and I can say that I was very ashamed about my country while I was there. Why? Because mahal was terrible in hosting the visitors. yes, there is a great view and it's very comfortable but the owners of the hotel are very rude about the visitors. If you ask me a fine place in kalkan I recommend The Eagle's Nest. One word about this one is GREAT!
