I just came back after a weeks break here and would recommend it to anyone. the hotel was clean, food was good and the entertainers worked very hard indeed and were exceptionally friendly. they knew everyone by their names and all of the kids absolutely adored them. they worked so hard and deserve alot of credit! bar staff friendly and overall a lovely stay.

Very relaxing

Just got back from this hotel. Must say the staff and accomadation where exceptional. All very friendly. room cleaned daily and very clean. But must add this holiday wasn't for me. It's ok if you just want to relax by the pool all day. But i like to have a walk around. There's was a spar shop just down the road and restaurants at the cove but that was all. You either have to catch a bus or taxi. We did this twice once to ciutedella and once to Cala Forcat. We catched a taxi which cost us 60 euro there and back for the 2 journeys but you can't do this every day(too expensive). Must say was disappointed with Ciutedella. Not that many shops, we went on a Saturday so the banks where shut which is the only place you can exchange money. We did find 1 shop that exchanged but where only offering 1.03.
So if you want a VERY relaxing holiday (sitting by the pool all day and having to listen to the so called reps, who by the way where terrible not very friendly except to the people who where willing to make themselves look like idiots in the night time activities) this is for you. But if you like to get out and about now and then (without having to fork out a fortune) then give this a miss.
You can only buy your cigarettes from Ciutadella.
Roll on October, Palma Nova here i come!

this is a good hotel if you want to spend all day round a pool.if you are fussy eater not much food i was on soup and salads all week .entertainment is basic rooms are very good service is excellent.if you want to go out aqua park you have to walk 2 miles to bus stop then a mile when you get there then pay 3 euros for a sun bed 500yds is a small sandy bay you can swim there but i found a smell like sewage .to go out like irish bar it entails a walk of over a mile .

  • Advice: if you like a pool ok other wise keep away

Good Value for money holiday

This was our first holiday in an all inclusive hotel and we were generally pleased with it.
The hotel room was clean and tastefully decorated and the staff were all very good.
There was always a good selection of food to choose from and was generally very tasty.
The entertainment staff did well considering the differing age ranges and nationallities at the hotel.
For a value for Money holiday this one gets our vote.

Not good enough

Just returned from a 12 day all inclusive holiday to Cala Blanca Hotel and found it not as good as other all inclusive hotels we have stayed at.
Good points - Hotel was very clean, and all staff very good and helpful.
Room - Our room was very small not helped by the bunk beds also in the room, (we didn't need these as there was only 2 of us), the only way I could get into bed was by the foot end as it was pushed up against the doors to the balcony/window. Shower didn't work on arrival but was soon fixed by maintenance man. No hot water for 2 days running, but again was soon fixed by maintenance. There was no hair dryer in the room, if you wanted one you had to hire it!
Swimming pool - seemed to be used mainly by the local children, probably the staff's children. Beach/Sunbed towels were not included, they had to be hired if you wanted one - we found it cheaper to buy 2 from the local shop!
Food - was ok, but repetative, pork or veal, pasta and fish, not a great variety of deserts, mainly mouses, breakfast had a fairly good choice of cooked and continental. Snacks in between meals were fairly limited consisting of fruit, ham and cheese. The only time you could help yourself to tea or coffee was at breakfast, the rest of the time you had to go to bar for it. If you wanted water you had to buy it.
Entertainment - fine if you are the type of person who doesn't mind being publically humiliated - at times it was like being on a Club 18 - 30 holiday! Middle aged ladies being stripped of their bra's and elderly gentlemen taking off their trousers - not our idea of entertainment!
Resort - the recession has hit this small resort really hard, with a number of empty premises, leaving just a couple of bars, a restaurant and a couple of Supermarkets. The properties seem to be mainly holiday lets, which have been left in a very untidy state.
In conclusion - Would not use this hotel again.

very enjoyable week, room nice and clean,as is everywhere else in the hotel.
service very good, restaurant and bar very efficient.
plenty of sunbeds no need to go down before 9am(it is may though)
food very good, veal, pork chicken etc and good fry up in the mornings(proper sausages!)
very quiet and relaxing.
as far as 3 stars go i would recommend it.
if youve stayed in 4 or 5 star hotels yes it is inferior but youve got to put it into perspective-always people who take a clipboard looking for faults anywhere you go

Just got back from hotel cala blanca, menorca.
holiday didint get off to the best start....we went to pick our tickets up from the airport (late deal) waited at the thomas cook desk and no one was there to serve us...she turned up very late which had us running round right at the last minute (no apologies from her for bieng late!!) then she had problems with our tickets...they hadnt been printed for us? so we then had to wait for them to be written out (as if we wernt late already!)when we finally arrived at the airport in menorca, thomas cook didnt have us on the coach transfer list...what a joke!
we arrived at hotel cala blanca all was fine at arrival....went up to our room to unpack, nice room very clean but not even a hairdryer as standard!
My fiencee had a wash in the basin with the bathroom door open while i had a cigarette on the balcony and as i opened the balcony door the wind blew in and the ceiling above the bath came down (metal) and gauged the bath, god knows what would of happened if she was in it!
The food was ok,just chips and some meats everynight, not a great choice.
As alot of people said about the snacks..yes it is left over cold chips from lunchtime-not good.
pools were good but a tad small.
cala blanca itself was a lovely clean place but there isnt anything to do.
Spanish people there were very rude,we were gobsmacked by them a couple of times, they dont make you feel welcome atall and stare at you weirdly all the time, and the hotel was full of spanish tourists.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone but only if it was much cheaper to stay there and there was more to do. thomas cook had no organisation and we had no apologies from them atall.

Just back from a week at the Cala Blanca. Dubious as it was so cheap but we weren't disappointed. From check in to check out ALL the staff were friendly and helpful (even when we saw them 5 times a day). The whole complex was clean and modern, and our 1 bed apartment was outstanding with a separate modern well equipped kitchen (with oven, microwave and dishwasher)and huge bedroom, comfortable living room with flat screen tv, and large terrace with sun loungers a table and chairs. The views of the sea and mountains were glorious, although we were down on the ground floor which is next to the main route to Mogan. Whilst this wasn't busy it was fairly noisy especially on market day (which is Friday!!) The pool was lovely, with poolside bar, and there is also a restaurant which served a wide range of food, oh and a shop, a sauna, jacuzzi, gym, and launderette.
Would recommend a car, unless you dont mind getting taxis and buses everywhere. You can walk down to Playa Taurito if you're not as lazy as us (it is literally at the end of the road up to the hotel). There you will find more hotels, a bar, a few shops, diving place, mini golf and fantastic pool with slides etc and the pool costs 9 Euros a day to get into to, and of course..THE (dark sandy)BEACH!
Had a fantastic time and will definitely return!!!

i went to menorca (cala blanca) for my 18th birthday with my boyfriend at the end of august, when i first arrived to menorca i was really amazed by the heat late at night, we then found our tour operators and showed us to our coaches, the bus trip to our hotel was quite far, about an hour or so, but with the coach being air conditioned it was a nice trip! when i arrived to our hotel (hotel cala blanca) i was skeptic at first seeing the hotel seemed a little old fashioned from the outside, but when we arrived inside, and into our room, i was pleasantly surprised, although the room wasnt huge, it didnt really matter as the decor and the cleanliness was superb! we had a nice view over the hotel pool and the air conditioning was refreshing from a hot day out! **Something i must add though, having air conditioning on did cause me to catch a cold and a tummy bug through the circulated air*** but with the air conditioning off and the patio doors open the temp in the room was cool. the bathroom was very clean and something i would expect from a 5* hotel!! The food in the hotel was very fresh and delicious! With a picky boyfriend, i was happy to see him tucking into food there which he enjoyed very much! For more adventurous tastebuds, there was a great selection of different fresh fish everyday and selection of fresh juicy fruits!! The bar was great, good selection of drinks and very friendly staff!! something which i should add tho, if your planning to visit cala blanca for a night out every night this isnt the place!! but for relaxing, snorkling and restaurant meals, and for ROMANCE!! this is a perfect place <3 if you like to travel around then there are regular buses to towns near cala blanca which are great to pick up presents and souveniers! :D Overall i would go here again and recommend it for people if they want a romantic get away!

I've read a few very negative reviews about this hotel - don't know what the problem is (apart from problems with the broken tiles in the paddling pool - I can see how that can ultimately ruin a holiday, but all fixed when I went in September 2008). The food wasn't outstanding but it was more than acceptable (I'm a faddy eater, and had no problems!), the staff were very friendly and helpful, the entertainment very good and the rooms nicely furnished/decorated.
The island is not at all commercialised so ideal for people who want a quiet holiday.
We looked for the cheapest holiday we could find, being on a very tight budget, yet we couldn't have asked for a better holiday. Brilliant.

Very nice hotel, food excellent and all staff very friendly, happy and helpful.
Rooms smallish, basic but spotless. Pools lovely and quiet.
Hardly any british guest mostly italians - which was great - we hate being in a hotel with football shirt wearing brits!
Entertainment staff, Helen, Ulrika and Antonio all worked very hard and were very good - not in your face all the time but enough to keep it all ticking over.
Very quiet resort - which we liked. We would definately go back.
