When you pull up outside this hotel your first thought will be 'Oh my god what have I done?'. The outside leaves a lot to be desired, it does look very run down tbh. We checked in quickly, the reception staff were friendly although their English wasnt brilliant but we had no problems communicating.
We were shown to our room, there was only one double bed, although there were 3 of us. Also the safe wasnt open. We were told if we went and had a drink these problems would be sorted when we came back. Although we were tired and wanted to go to bed we did get a drink and they did make up another bed and sort out the safe very quickly.
When we saw the hotel in the light of day it didnt look much better! It needs a good lick of paint and modernisation. Its a shame because it is absolutely spotless, glasses are cleared as soon as they are empty, the toilets are all immaculate and the rooms are very very clean too.
The room was a good size, even with the third bed (fold out sofa) in it. Balcony is quite small though. The shower was fine, very warm. the cleaners came every day and cleaned thoroughly. One day they left the balcony door open though which we weren't happy about.
The food was very good, the usual kind of selection for an all inclusive. BREAKFAST - cereal, continental breakfast, cook to order omelettes and fried eggs, various breads and rolls ets, fruits, yoghurts.
LUNCH - freshly made pizza, chips, rice and/or pasta, huge salad bar, 6 or 7 hot dishes, large selection of desserts and fresh fruit.
DINNER - as lunch but they do theme nights as well, they have a pirate night (lots of fish and seafood), and oriental night.
We thought the food was very nice with a good selection and choice. You would have to be very fussy to not find something you liked.
Not very impressed with the all inclusive alcoholic drinks. It was only house vodka, gin, and rum I think, also beer and wine. Anything else was extra. Not great if you fancy something different. Also you have a mini bar in your room with a small selection of drinks in it on arrival. These are free. If you want the fridge re-filled you have to pay. I dont think that is right. Also water is only available from machines, if you want a bottle you have to buy it (apart from lunchtimes, a few bottles are put on tables but not many). I dont think that is right - especailly as you cant drink the tap water.
The daytime entertainment was good, we didnt find the staff pushy at all, if you dont want to play just say no thanks and they leave you alone. My 16 yr old really enjoyed the sports and games, we hardly saw him!
The beach is about a 5 min walk or there is a courtesy bus. Very nice beach, lots of free sunbeds, hotel has bar and food on the beach so you can spend all day there. There are showers and toilets at the beach, again all spotlessly clean. You get a free beach towel when you arrive but if you want to change it you have to pay. I dont agree with this either. Never had that at any other all inclusive.
All staff were really friendly and helpful, some of them dont speak the best english but with a bit of patience and humour (and perhaps phrasing it differently) you will always be understood. We had no problems getting served. And no we didnt tip until we left on the last day. Learn how to say thank you in Turkish - it is appreciated so much! Tesherkurr ederim (prob spelt wrong!)
To sum up... it wasnt as bad as we first thought when we arrived. The important things were good - the food and the cleanliness. However it wasnt the best holiday we've ever had and we wouldnt go back to this hotel.
- Advice: Side is lovely, but stay at a different hotel
- Activities: Dont do the last day trip via the rep. Its a total rip off. You spend mst of the day on a coach.

Overall it was a brilliant holiday and there is very little I can find fault with the hotel.
The hotel, its grounds, restaurants, bar areas, toilet & showers, play areas & swimming pools were very very clean & safe.
The staff worked day & night to make the customers holiday a good one.
The cleaners are constantly cleaning - one day I even saw a man on the roof with a broom!!
The waiters/waitresses are forever cleaning up & wiping down - you could not fault there efforts & attuitude towards their work & the holidaymakers.
The animation(entertainment) team work non stop with constant smiles on their faces. They go all out to ensure you have a good time.
The bedrooms are light & spacious, the bathroom is a very good size. There is plenty of hanging space/hangers/drawer space etc.
Clean sheets ever 2nd day and clean towels every day.
There is a fridge in the room and complimentary drinks are provided but replacements will be charged.
There is a safe within the room but you will be charged for using it(about 1.50euros a day)
There is air conditioning within the bedroom.
Pool & beach towels are available for free once but you will be charged each time you ask for clean ones!
The reception is light & airy & there are plenty of other 'public' areas with comfy seating.
The food in the restaurant was A1, so much so we didnt visit the a la carte restaurants!
You can eat & drink non stop all day from 7am 'til midnight!
Breakfast caters for everybody (and not just the Germans as some disgruntled English would say!) it opens at 7am 'til 10am. There were over half a dozen cereals to choose from, over a dozen cheeses, hams & sausages, over a dozen types of bread & rolls, fresh fruit, dried fruit, tinned fruit, half a dozen types of yoghurt. The hot choices available might not amount to a full english but there is a toaster available, scrambled eggs & boiled eggs. Plus fresh omlettes made one morning and then scotch pancakes the next day.
In addition to this, between 8am & 9am you can order fried eggs or any type of omlette to be cooked to order and the kitchen staff are only to happy to help :)
The bar opens at 10am (on the dot!) with slush puppies for kids, 6 different types of fruit juices, iced teas and a variety of cokes, sprites & fantas. Beer, wine & limited spirits are available 'til midnight - plus unlimited teas & coffees and bottled water.
The patisserie opens at 11am 'til 5pm where you can also get a cappaccuino or a hot chocolate. This room is air conditioned & comfy. In addition to cakes you can also get fresh fruit.
Lunches start at 12 at the beach bar and 12.30 til 2pm in the main restaurant.
The choice available is endless; soups, over 30 differents types of salads, atleast 3 hot meat or fish dishes, pizza & garlic bread are cooked fresh constantly thoughout the lunch time, plus there is a 'special' dish.
There is an endless stream of fresh fruit, chocolate mousse and cakes.
Ice creams at the pool bar 4-5pm -melts very quickly in the heat!!!
Evening meal from 7pm - 9pm also provides soups, salads, pasta dishes, chips(for those that cant live without them!) pizza & garlic bread, atleast 3 meat/fish dishes (a lot of turkey & veal - very tender & tasty!) plus there is always a couple of dishes being cooked fresh infront of you - maybe a stir fry or meat on the griddle.
Every 3 days or so there is a 'themed' night in the restaurant. All the staff dress up accordingly and the menu reflects the theme - turkish/asian/american/fish etc.
An early buffet is provided for small children at 6.30pm which is equally as tasty & well presented. Plus a member of the childrens entertainment team dine with the children which the children obviously enjoy.
It is just 800+meters walk to the beach, altho' transport is provided.
It is a private beach with a very very clean beach bar & facilities.
The beach bar is open 10am 'til 6pm and you can enjoy endless drinks including bottled water, ice creams from 11am-12noon, buffet lunch from 12-2 and 3-5pm fresh (turkish)pancakes are cooked infront of you - if you havent tried them then go for it! they are great!!
The restaurant re-opens at 11pm for an hour with soup & bread which is great to stave off the munchies!! Very handy if you have a night flight at an unsociable hour! :)
The entertainment is non stop if you want it. Starting with 'club dance' simple routine for everyone to join in around the pool at 10am.
Aerobics, aqua-aerobics, belly dancing, volleyball, darts, water polo are available daily - some activites are on the hotel complex and others take place at the beach.
"Pool Games" are at 12noon and are brilliant to watch even if you dont want to join in! An obvious Brits V Germans competition takes place and it makes for amusing entertainment - I wont say what the games are and spoil them but they are good fun :))
The childrens kids club keep the smaller ones entertained & safe for a couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. The kids have their own "club dance" and at 3pm they can be seen kicking off the afternoon entertainment - its so good a lot of adults join in too! :))
During the summer height of season there is also a sports entertainer who will rally up the teenagers for their own sports competitions, this is normally inconjunction with the the smaller hotel next door.
The evening entertainment is 6 nights a week and starts with a kiddie disco at 8pm.
The entertainment team work really hard to provide a variety of shows to suit everyone including the Lion King, Mamma Mia and extracts from Chicago, Moulin Rouge & Fame. Some things are in German but please please dont let that put you off!
All the hotels along the beach are 5* and they all offer a private beach & beach club bar the same as the Monachus Park - which is great as then all these areas are maintained to a high standard.
The canoes & pedaloes are free on the beach - motorised sport is charged.
It is one of the sandiest/safest beaches Ive ever been to!
The promenade in between the hotels & the beach is very clean & pretty and makes for a nice early morning stroll or jog.
There are 4 swimming pools; 1 indoor that is freezing! 1 childs pool with water slides, 1 adult pool (away from the kids & entertainment) 1 family pool which is soooo warm its like a bath!
The kids water slides are not on all day just 2 hours in the morning and about 3 hours in the afternoon so consequently when they are switched on there is a bit of a mad rush!
Dont whatever you do attempt to bring a lilo down the slide.....a lot of people do and it very nearly causes accidents.
The slides are not as big as they appear in the hotel brochure but they are good and the kids/adults enjoy the all the same. Although there is no life guard on duty - each parent is responsible for their own child......which is fine & i agree with but some kids were abandoned!
It is quite a new resort and the hotels are clean & classy (nothing over 3 stories to ruin the sky line) the beach area is faultless but the inbetween areas are unfortunately still work in progress (dont worry we didnt see one crane or bull dozer whilst we were there) but it is a little unsightly and obviously dissappointing if it is the view from your room!
For those of you who fancy a day out (trust me it is hard to drag yorself away from the pool & the beach!)....take a walk up the road, just 800 mtrs are some shops and you can book your trips. There is a local company called Diana Travel which seems to have the monopoly on excursions and even Thomas Cook go thru them! So if you book your trips thru T.C. you will be picked up & escorted by Diana Travel and have paid heavily over the odds to do so!
Dont worry about taking Turkish Lire with you.....they prefer Euros just about everywhere you go!
The hotel is multi national and predominately Russian & German, there are also Dutch, Norwegian & Turkish(always a good sign) on holiday there - the Brits are in the minority as it is only the 2nd year they have used this hotel....hence why the staff mainly speak German!
We had a brilliant holiday and if I had to be pickey and find fault with something I would say;
* the air conditioning didnt seem to be addequate during the day and kicked in at 11pm.
* the water slides should've been on for longer to avoid congestion.
* limited alcohlic drinks available - great if you like gin & vodka!
Overall it was a great place to stay - clean, safe, excellent food/service/entertainment - so dont let a few too many Germans put you off! :))
Bon Voyage
