Hotel Meri

Booked on lastminute.com and really felt we got value for money. Went with a girlfriend for a restful break (thought it would be impossible in August with the school holidays) but there was a fair mix of families and couples at this resort. The food was ok - good for veggies who like salads, maybe lacking for real meat or gourmet fans. But the all inclusive element covered a lot of things so it was a cheap holiday! very friendly people..we are looking at this hotel again as our children loved it so much they would like to go again! Sufficiently out of the olu deniz town centre itself it is a peaceful and thoroughly relaxing way to spend two weeks. The food was well prepared and the afternoon treats were always welcome!

This is a good typical friendly Turkish Hotel. The food was good, plentiful and fresh. The hotel is divided in two. Family rooms near the pool & Restaurants, and other rooms set in the hillside. There is a lift to take you to the rooms on the hill, but it is less than a minute's ride. The rooms are very clean, maid service every day, t.v. air-con (which is free) mini fridge (essential for your water) with balcony & we had a view of the lagoon. We are a family of six and after our week at the meri it was voted the best holiday ever by all of us. The staff could not have been more friendly and enjoyed my terrible attempts at speaking turkish.The food, although very similar every night ,offered ahuge range and even my faddier 10 year olds could find something they liked and snacks are served throughout the day in case you get peckish as it was inclusive there was no charge for this. I've just returned from a week at the Hotel Meri in Olu Deniz which was a truly wonderful & relaxing break. The hotel is nicely laid out & it is almost impossible when sitting on a (free) pedalo in the the lagoon to know there is a hotel there at all! However, you do have to be able to climb to stay here - we arrived breathless for breakfast most days (the dining room for this is near the top of the complex) but the stunning views are well worth the trip. Please don't waste your money coming to this hotel! It is so awful I can't even begin to think where to start! Perhaps firstly with the rooms, which are so pokey and basic they make a Travelodge seem palatial. Take a look at the picture I've attached of the view from my balcony - hardly breathtaking - and many of the rooms have this outlook. Then there's the lift which other reviewers refer to as "quirky" but which I would liken to as more of a cage on metal wheels which gets dragged up the mountain-side and was so old and dodgy it often... more

I have just returned from a 1 week stay in the hotel meri. It was one of the best holidays i have ever been on and definately the best hotel i have ever stayed in! Me and my boyfriend had a fantastic time. It was mostly couples ranging all ages.The staff were really friendly and the food was great (warning dont go to this hotel if you dont like melon!!) Husband and I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Meri Hotel. I won't repeat all the praises of the previous reviewer but have to agree that this hotel is a gem. From the lagoon you wouldn't even recognise the little buildings dotted about the hillside as being a hotel, but if you are staying there you know you have found the best location in Oludeniz. we stayed at the meri hotel for 2 weeks june 16 -30, booking with Anatolian Sky. the only company in the U/K to use this hotel. The hotel is built on both sides of a very quiet costal road. the lagoon side has a good pool area about 30 steps down from the road. a few more steps brings you down to the grass area with deck chairs/tables under the trees. this was good during the day offering much needed shade. We have just returned from a fortnight in Turkey, a week on a gulet and a week at the Hotel Meri just outside Olu Deniz by the lagoon. We are a retired couple and found the Hotel Meri to be very good on many counts. The whole hotel is set on the side of the hill sweeping down to the private beach where sunbeds were almost always available. The rooms are reached by steep steps although there is an open lift something like a cable car which takes you up to your level. It would not be suitable for severely disabled people.
