Rixos Sungate Hotel

It's an excellent all-inclusive resort. The amenities are absolutely fabulous and the service and food are just fantastic. This resort is located in a pine forest right on the seashore. It's really big so make sure you pack your comfortable walking shoes. It offers several private beaches, waterpark, kid's club, numerous swimming pools (outdoor and indoor), Turkish sauna, excellent spa. This hotel is big maybe even too big. The buildings, gardens, pools etc. are very beautiful. The animation is excellent (for young and old). The possibilities for children are enormous (water slides, activities). Now the bad news. The general service is a total disaster. We stayed at Sungate in September 2006, so it was really pleasant, not too hot, although a bit crowded. Check in took less than 10 minutes and we were driven by an electric car to our accommodation, Terrace Houses, overlooking a beautiful park. It was very clean, the room we had was quite close to the main bar (so we did not have to walk for miles, as the hotel is huge). We stayed at the Sungate hotel, expecting big things, after being told that it was 7 stars!! PLUS, it was very expensive compared with any of the other hotels in the area. So, with all this in mind we arrived at midday, to what seemed like chaos, which was the front desk. It took ages to book in (there was a large Russian complaining about something and everyone on the desk was involved with this) then it was a problem as many on the desk only spoke either Russian or Turkish. I was unlucky enough to stay at the Sungate hotel for 8 nights in november to attend an international diplomatic conference which was taking place in the huge confernence center of the hotel. The front desk staff was the most unhelpful staff i've ever seen! it beats NY hotels staff. My room was quiet nice though not very clean. Going to the conference center or to the restaurants took me forever as it involved crossing long, empty, dark corridors. My main complain is regarding the service. I stayed with my wife and my 7 years old son for two weeks in this hotel.for check in it took two hours befor we can get in our room because there was no room ready though it was 3 oclock in the afthernoon ,and the receptionist kindly asked us to have our launch at the main resturant befor our room get ready.overall sungate is a beautifull hotel it is huge with alot of guests and good food ,at all its resturant, but at the main resturant which is buffet ,it is chaotic and you go crazy ,it is too crowded and too noisy,but at the other... more

We stayed at the Sungate Hotel last year and it was not all they claim to be. Yes, it is large and full of amenities, but some of it was really lacking. If you come for an experience it is good. If you come to rest and relax you may be in trouble. The constant line is “We are sorry and next year it will be better” Hey, I spent my money this year and this is all I get? We have recently visited the hotel Sungate Port Royal. As it was continously advertised as a hotel with 7 stars, one expects to find a related quality of service. Very nice beach, very nice buldings, very nice pools, very nice a la carte restaurants. That's all. If you expect anything further beyond this, you cannot find it at Sungate Port Royal. Our continous feedback to hotel management was left unanswered. And we had to finalise our holiday in a room that was never cleaned, but only visited by housekeepers to fill... more

Sungate is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. It is built on a very huge land which makes you feel you are in a forest. Huge pools and huge spa center. Rooms were very comforable and had a shower, bath, balcony a huge bed, very fast internet connection, tv, minibar and everything else that would make you feel home. Sometimes I preferred to stay in my room rather then going by the pool. The room service is not that good though. I will definitely go there again.

It’s a new hotel opened in April or May 2005 in Beldibi near Kemer, and from the very beginning it started an aggressive ads campaign positioning itself as an almost “7-star” all-inclusive hotel.
