stayed at this hotel for 1 week as part of our cruise and stay hokiday with first choice.a fantastic week on the ship(island star)arrived at sumba hotel without a rep just a driver who couldnt speak english.bad points 1.no room ready for us.2. when we did get 1 it had 3 single beds pushed os tight together it was hard to get in to and completly unsuitable as we had our 15 year old with us.3.all food was made to suit the germans as was all entertainment.4.the staff are the most arrogant and rude ive ever came across especially the bar... more

We stayed here on the second week of our holiday first week being on the island star cruise ship.we found the staff extremely rude especially the bar staff who openly argued with each other night and day.The all inclusive deal is also rather a rip off as very little food is available from the pool bar drinks were of the cheap trash origin.The hotel is very clean but if you are british its not for you as its at least 80 per cent german who again are very rude. We stayed half board at the Sumba in July this year. If you intend to stay just around the pool, or in the resort, you should consider the all inclusive option which seems good value for money, given the difference in price. The hotel is very clean and the entrance is very welcoming. Most rooms, if not all rooms, have a sea view and approximately half also have a pool view. Just come back from an all inclusive 6 day break at the Hotel Sumba, Cala Millor, to get away from our dismal weather. The hotel is extremely clean, facilities are excellent, housekeeping also excellent, and the food is also very good and of a high standard which is served as a help yourself buffet, with waiter service for drinks. My wife and I stayed at The Hotel Acorn Sumba as the second week of our holiday. The first week was spent on a cruise with very high standards so we were not expecting the hotel Sumba to be anywhere near the standards we had the previous week. In saying that though the hotel was not of a major disappointment. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. The hotel is probably 80% German and 20% English. This is genuinely a very clean, well run, family hotel. No lager louts, mostly German clientel (wherever you find German visitors you will find high standards)The food is very good,a continually changing buffet. Cheap drinks, large sun terraces and beside the beach. Indoor pool, childrens club etc but all done with great taste. We hardly saw our 4 children .. We had a great holiday here.

The Acorn Sumba is probably m ore of a 3 star hotel. However as written in a previous review in the whole of Cala Millor most of the hotels are similar to each other. One thing we noticed about the Sumba is how friendly the maids were and how clean they kept the room. When we first arrived I was shocked at how small the room was. Stayed first week of June. Hotel is clean and very nice with a number of good facilities. We had adjoining rooms, which worked great for a family of four. The hotel is well located at the quieter end of the stretch of sandy beach. Able to use all facilities at the sister hotel next door so between the two hotels, there is lots for the kids to do (table tennis, rock climbing wall, kids disco each night, kids activities during the day, etc.). Acorn Sumba was more like a 3-star hotel. However, walking around Cala Millor, I must say it is one of the nicer establishments, but that's not saying much. Lots of kids and more catered to Germans. I'd skip out on Cala Millor altogether unless you are German, over the age of 50 and want to eat omelettes or burgers every day. This was without doubt the best hotel we have stayed in. The food and accommodation were first class. The staff were friendly in the extreme and very helpful.The guests were mainly German, with few English people staying at the hotel. We would highly reccommend this fine hotel:
