Hippodrome Hotel

We have just returned from a 4 day visit to Istanbul and were delighted with the hotel which, apart from being clean, is ideally situated in the heart of Istanbul . The majority of the major sights of the city, the Blue Mosque, Sofia Museum, Topkapi Palace , Great Underground Sistern ,etc. are all within walking distance. We just returned from an 8 day stay at the Hippodrome Hotel in Istanbul. We were travelling with our 10 month old baby and the 15 year old nanny. We needed a two bedroom apartment that had a kitchen and the Hippodrome Hotel Apartment was perfect for our needs. The apartment we stayed in had one large bedroom with a queen bed and a smaller bedroom with two twin beds. Both bedrooms had a private bathroom. Although the hotel is situated at an excellent location and is very close to major attractions, the rooms were on the small size for our party of three. Nonetheless, the staff was very nice and accomodating in all our request. We would consider staying there again.

I give this hotel an "average" review because I came to the conclusion that hotels in Istanbul are not very good, so this one should be more or less in the average. Nevertheless, I need to say that we were not happy. The hotel is composed of two parts, an older hotel with normal rooms and a part of apartments. The apartments are newer and nicer, but I guess also with some issues (noise?). The hotel itself is rather basic and not particularly appealing. Good value .. airport pickup.. easy walk to major attractions, Grand Bazar and restaurants. Will stay again

My family and myself ( 5 in all ) stayed one week in a flat belonging to the hotel, just a few steps away. It was very spacious and clean. The staff did everything they could to make our stay successful. The breakfast terrasse is superb !!! Only positive things to say....

Everything about this hotel is perfect! The rooms are extremely clean, it's nicely decorated, and the staff is very helpful and polite. When I return to visit this beautiful, old city, I will definitely stay at the Hippodrome.

The hotel is centrally located in a quite corner. Blue Mosque is only a few minutes walk. Taxi service is only a phone call away. Reception will make the call to taxi service and the cab will be at the hotel door within a minute. Hotel staff speaks English and is friendly Hotel is very clean. The Hippodrome is a very pleasent tourist class hotel located on a quiet road close to the major attractions but without all of the nosie/traffic. When we first arrived we thought that perhaps it was a bit too far away, but after we had become orientated it was perfect. The hotel provided a ride into town and breakfast was served at another hotel around the corner. Our room while not luxurious was very pleasent and was a nice place to return to. I would certainly contemplate staying there again.
