I have just returened from this holiday and found it impecable! My daughter (13) and her friend said it was the best holiday they had ever been to, the food was very nice and fresh and there was always a good choice as it was such a huge buffet.
Both the pools were very clean and well kept, although there was sometimes a shortage of sun loungers, we were always there early and took advantage of that.
Entertainment was fab, there was always holiday reps wondering around the pool being extremly frendly to both children and adults. My daughter loved the games room that was located on the premises and also used the mini golf facilities while she was there, there was always some sort of entertainment during the day weather it was ping-pong or water polo for every one to get involved in.
The pool side bar had plenty of fizzy drinks for the kids and beer for us all day long.
The only negative thing i would say is that there was only 2 english families (including us) in the entire resort and basically every one was french, noneless ALL the french teenagers were very friendly and tried their best english to make friends with my daughter and make her feel welcome. I would reccomment this hotel to any one who wants a lovely, friendly, lively hotel with good food and good entertainment!

Hi there, my family and I, two kids 3 and 7 had an absolute ball for the two weeks we were at this complex. We booked directly on Ownersdirect and the apartment we booked was very clean, well furnished and equipped with all facilities (including sky tv which was a blessing) with wonderful views out over the sea.
The complex itself had loads of stuff going on during the day with games, tennis, crazy golf etc etc so the kids were in heaven. We walked every night into Cala Egos (5 minutes) and there are numerous shops, bars and restaurants, a lot of them with live entertainment.
To be picky at all, there were only maybe 10/15 English families there as the rest were French or Dutch (we think!!!).
Anyway we wanted a good holiday abroad with good food and facilities and that's exactly what we got. We will definitely be back there next year. Oh and by the way, everywhere is absolutely spotless with not a lager lout in sight.
Happy holidays.

I will try to make this an honest review, we recently returned from one week at this apartment. Our party consisted of a 12 year old, a 14 year old & two adults. We found the apartments to be of a good standard and think the food was of a slightly higher standard than we had previously experienced on all inclusive holidays.
We spent a lot of time by the small pool at the hotel, this was lovely, never very busy, even though our stay was in August. Sunbeds always seemed to be available, we never went to breakfast before 10am but could always get beds, this for us was a huge plus. There is another pool that appears to have entertainment all day, with music playing and a bar.
However, we do have a few negative comments to express, firstly, the apartments are not in Cal A Dor, I paid 5.50 euros for a single journey from Cal a Dor, there is a train that stops in front of the hotel regularly but it does take about 30 minutes by the time its picked up, this costs 3 euros each for a return journey so it is cheap.
The hotel itself is isolated from any other bars etc. Secondly, all the entertainment in the hotel is in French, it is predominantly a French hotel, even the food labels in the restaurant are not in English, maybe we were being over sensative but it appeared the only signs in English were the signs warning about behaviour. This means that there is no entertainment if you don't understand French and even if you do the entertainment is very basic humour, and appears to be very similar every night.

I just came back from the Roc Las Rocas hotel on sunday, it was great! the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good, the pools were exellent and the rooms were spotless, i loved every minute of it, and would go back again.
The only negative point is that the entertainmeant was all in french because there was a lot of french people staying there, overall it was brilliant.
Also if anyone stayed here from the 15th july to the 23rd of july 2007 add me to msn thetwins1991@hotmail.com

Excellent Hotel, great service and good food. Occupants were mainly German, but staff were very good in English or German.
Three swimming pools and good all inclusive provision. Very clean and great views.
Short walk to Cala Egos. We booked independently and had a hire car for the full period - this was great to allow us to explore the island.

My family and I booked our holiday to Majorca in January this year. Like many people I decided to look on the internet to find out as much as I possibly could about our destination. But the reviews I looked at where very mixed. So I decided to write my own to try and help others.
Roc las Rocas was not entirely English in fact there was probably only 10 English families there all in all, during our stay. But the hotel wasn't German either. My view was that it was extremely mixed. (With English, Irish, German, Dutch and Spanish families).
But no one missed out as the entertainment available was offered to all. The hotel reps there all spoke English and many other languages very well. This hotel is very sociable and the reps are extremely friendly and approachable. There is a children’s club that runs in the daytime, each day meant a different theme (Pirate day, Harry Potter day, Cowboys and Indians day etc...) There is even a children’s disco every night where the children can play games with the reps, and win prizes.
There is a teenagers club where they can do play station competitions, archery, kayaking, football etc. Even for adults there is entertainment all day. In the form of volleyball, water polo, (which is by far the best) football, hockey, handball, darts etc...
The entertainment available was superb; the hotel reps even performed shows in the evening that every one of all ages could watch. Such as Mamma Mia, Grease, Saturday night fever etc.(Plus they are all in English).
The state of the apartment we stayed in was very clean but it was very basic. The maids did a very good job cleaning it, and there was always hot water! (very important for showers, as when you go away sometimes there is never hot water). We stayed in a self catering apartment but all inclusive is available. I must say the all inclusive looked very tasty! But I personally like to eat out and try new things. There is a pool bar next to the main pool which serves salads, pizzas, hamburgers, chips, sandwiches etc.
The hotel itself I didn’t find run down at all, it was very clean and the reception staff were extremely helpful. There is a basic gym for those hardcore people out there, who even workout on holiday and there are Computers available where you can surf the net.
The best pool is the rocky pool on the cliff the views are breathtaking. You can even jump of the rocks into the sea. But if you are with infants keep them close as it can be a bit dangerous. There are two other pools available to, with lots of sun beds. I never struggled to find a sun bed, but there are people who get up early, and claim sun beds with their towels.
The location of roc las rocas is not as people have said in cala Dor. Neither is it a walk able! But you can get there easily by cab (6 euro) or by the train that stops outside the hotel which takes you right into cala dor center. (3 euro per adults. not to sure about children, it might have been 2 euro) The hotel is in fact in cala egos, which has its own town centre as well, which is just over 5 minutes walk away. With many restaurants, (go to Beatriz the best restaurant by far) bars, clubs (Sparkles is the best, stays open until 4am most nights and does karaoke until 1am) and shops.
Cale Egos is a smaller version of Cala Dor basically. But I would recommend going to Cala Dor as it very pretty. The harbour is beautiful. If you are young and wanting to go out in the evening in cala dor. Go to the main square where there is Sound Republic (open until 6am), Funky Monkeys (which I loved), Linikers, Flares, and Mad Cow etc... There is a lot to offer for a night out, and the taxi rank is just outside. (as well as a Burger King, and an array of kebab houses for those after club munchies)
To sum up this hotel I would say that it is very friendly and sociable. So if you are looking for a peaceful getaway it might not be for you. But for children and young people it was the great. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I had a truly fantastic 2 weeks there.

Travelled with young family. First impressions were that it looked a bit tired. Stayed in a two bedroom ground floor apartment with a stunning sea view. Rooms are basic but clean don’t expect luxury!. I did notice that some other rooms seemed more up to date than ours. Rooms cleaned daily to a high standard.
The best feature of Las Rocas is its location the views out to sea are stunning. A small sandy beach is situated about a five minute walk also Cala egos is about 5/10 minutes walk with plenty of the usual Restaurants/Bars Etc. The hotel has four pools including a pool built in the rocks directly over looking the sea. The other two main pools get quite busy. The best pool is to be found over the road in Block D much quieter with plenty of sunbeds. We Stayed in Block A facing the restaurant. If you want a peaceful night I would advise asking not to be facing the main pool as this is were the night time entertainment is done (Very Loud and in German!)
The entertainment stops at about 10.30/11.00 to allow our German friends an early night so they can get up early to put there towels on the sunbeds at 6 in the morning!
Overall I would recommend Las rocas and Cala d or for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

The Hotel has spectacular sea views. We stayed in room C205 which had 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms (quite rare).
The rooms were cleaned and the sheets changed daily. Although predominantly German and all the entertainment in German (all English songs played at night from the 80's) we still enjoyed our visit with three teenagers in tow. The only down side is the lack of choice of food in the restaurant and the lack of sunbeds as the Germans are up at 5.30 with their towels at the ready.
The Hotel is situated more in Cala Egos (5 min walk) than Cala D'or which is a good 15 min walk. A trip to the Marina at Cala D'or is a must as the boats etc are wonderful and there are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants.

We were a bit dubious about this holiday having booked it independently, and also being informed that it was a mainly German and Dutch resort.
I must say i and my family were very pleased with the accommodation very spacious and clean, with 2 full size bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen area was just like home from home the cooker was full size with 4 rings and a full size oven and grill.
The utensils very all available for use also a kettle and toaster. A washing machine was also available in the apartment. a fridge with a ice box so i could buy frozen food and store it also. The seating area was more than enough for our family of 5. 2 dining tables with chairs and sofas and satellite TV was also included in the price.
Then the balcony this was enormous overlooking the pool with a large table and chairs. The bedrooms were very well equipped with full size beds both ensuite with 5 piece bathroom suites. The wardrobes were very large and more than enough storage space. The pool areas were fantastic 2 on the complex with bars and food available, clean and very well maintained with a kids pool and plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There was another pool down on the cliffs with easy access to this pool via a small footpath. The kids entertainment was good and even though my children speak only English the entertainers spoke a variety of languages so they never felt left out and had a wonderful time and made lots of friends.
Table tennis and pitch and putt are available free of charge as is the football pitch and tennis court. A fully equipped gym is available also and the evening entertainment was available every night and the bar was nice and not over priced.
There is also a shop on site for all those essential items with fresh bread everyday. The town is only a short walk away with lovely beaches, cafés and shops available. Overall i would definitely go back to this hotel it was very well priced and very good value for money. This resort also offers all inclusive and half board if you choose to take up the offer and if you don’t when you book then you can always add this when you get to the resort.

We were a little concerned regarding this resort as we had been informed that this hotel was a mainly German hotel.
The rooms were very spacious and clean. The facilities regarding the kitchen area were good full sized cooker/ full-sized sink and preparation area. We had a separate lounge area with sofas and dining table, and TV.
The bedrooms were well equipped with plenty of storage areas and each bedroom had ensuite facilities with bath and shower. There were 3 pools a main pool with kid’s pool and plenty of sunbeds and shelter from the sun. The pool side bar is only a few steps away.
The second pool is near the restaurant. And finally for the more adventurous a rock pool, not for very young children or people who are unsteady on their feet but worth a look.
Nightly entertainment and a kids club which our children joined in with on a few occasions and even though the main language spoken was German there was an English speaking rep.
I would recommend this resort as either a self catering base or on a fully inclusive basis. But fully inclusive can be purchased on daily basis if you wish. Cala Egos is only a 5 min walk away.
We would go back again.

We stayed at the Las Rocas Apartments in Oct 2004, after finding it on Alpha Rooms as a last minute holiday. We were a bit worried as to what it would be like as we couldn’t find it in any UK brochures and we didn’t really have much to go on.
It was lovely we stayed in room A - 110, which had the most beautiful view overlooking the sea, the room was fairly clean. maid service was frequent. Never ate in the hotel as we like to eat out. the pools were lovely. Play area for the children. there was a children’s club but we never used it. It was about a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach, supermarket and bars etc. which we found a nice walk in the evenings. We would recommend it to anyone.
Although it was the last week of the season and getting quite chilly we really liked Cala D’Or

We stayed here in may 2004 with another family. We both had 2 bed roomed apartments with sea views. Although not luxury they were spacious and didn’t cost the earth booked through bedbookers.com stayed for 10 nights at spring bank holiday time.
Although the hotel was all German including all the guests and the entertainment we had a fantastic holiday although I don’t think we would have enjoyed it as much if we had been on our own due to the fact there were no other English families in the hotel.
