We went to the Sotavento at the end of Aug last year, and it was amazing. There was 8 of us that went then a few days later 10 lasses came out from the same college as us, so the hotel was over run with people from Barrow, I felt sorry for them.
The security guy at night was funny, always on edge but it was funny. The room was really clean, but we kept running out of towels which was annoying. Only problem was that the cleaner would come in while we were still asleep from the night before, which was not really that much appreciated.
All in all it was immense! haha

Was definitely a great holiday in Magaluf. Despite the huge hill where the apartments are, myself and my 19 friends really enjoyed our stay.
It’s on a 2minute walk onto the main strip and from the Indie which was usually our first stop. The 2wentys reps were a great laugh and were there to help us too.
I would recommend going to Magaluf if you’re a young adult but don’t be surprised if you don’t see many girls in some clubs - guys far outnumber girls unfortunately!

Sotavento was really good for us as there was 16 young lads in my group, we was the youngest people there and made a few friends and what not, but no one caused any trouble with us or anything.
The pool area is clean there's loadza sun beds, the jacuzzi can only fit 8 people we had 16 in but they switched it off till some got out! Then about half way through the holiday it just had too much chlorine in to get in it, burnt your skin and hurt your eyes even when just near it.
Food was pretty good and cheap.
The security guard was a bit mardy at times, was always people out and about though. Went in a few peoples rooms as well as mine and there all same not anything special but can sleep 4 easy, you get a toaster, kettle etc
Took ages for them to prep our room bout an hour, weren't a problem though because we just sat and had a drink.
The main strip is 5 min walk all way down to bcm, there's clubs and bars. Went to bcm loadza times the popcorn party is awesome as well as the foam party, weren't very nice walking back wet though.
The PR's get very annoying just don't leave you alone but as there was so many of us we got some pretty good deals loadza free stuff,
Murphys bar is a must go if your into indie kinda stuff, they did all sortsa crazy games an things was well funny in there.
Would deffo go back there, going back next year but trying somewhere new :D

First impressions of the hotel were brilliant the reception area was gorgeous and really modern.
The room was the same although slightly crowded for 6. Couldn't have picked a better hotel in Magalluf, at the top of a hill it’s in the centre of everything with bars and clubs 2 mins walk away, but due to the very steep hill you don’t get any undesirables strolling past at 4 in the morning!
We met some great people and thoroughly enjoyed staying in Sotavento.
P.S watch out for the security guard ha ha!

Wow, where were to start with this hotel, it was fantastic! Would definitely go back again!
The hotel has just been redecorated and it very modern with a blue and white theme through out, it was very nice. The rooms had the same theme as the whole hotel and were very spacious and included a kitchenette and balcony.
The pool area was amazing, the sun loungers were like beds, they had waterproof mattresses on to sun bathe. How much comfort do you want after a long night out? They were perfect for a sneaky nap around the pool to regain your energy for the next night.
The pool bar was ideal serving any flavour cocktail you can imagine and it also has a jacuzzi which was lovely and the food was really nice in the hotel bar.
We went for a long weekend for a hen party and there were 16 of us staying in these apartments and not one complaint, apart from the dreaded hill!
The hotel is situated up a hill from Car Wash, if you know Magaluf. The hill wasn’t too bad if you were drunk and took a slow stroll up it. However during the day it was a killer if you walked at a fast speed. However you could get a taxi up for next to nothing so not really an issue.
The hotel met our every need however just a warning there is fine if you use the pool out of hours.
We went in May and it was surprisingly busy, there were alot of hen and stag do's out when we were there, but the atmosphere was really good and had a fab time.
I would definitely recommend if travelling to Magaluf, as it is a fab hotel.

What can I say, me and 3 of my girlfriends went to Magaluf for a mad week of fu,n sun and lads. We arrived and was totally shocked, totally brilliant place to stay really modern and rooms were surprisingly clean. 2 minutes away from the beach which was cooshtie.
We went out to the bars and clubs most nights but was hounded by the reps which really put a dampner on our night but this didn't stop us from having fun. I would recommend anyone to go and would luv to go back.

I stayed at Sotavento for two weeks this July with 8 friends. We had the most amazing holiday, the hotel was lovely. The food is delicious and everything was really cheap.
We went with escapades and the rep was brilliant. We did all of the excursions which were all brilliant and well worth the money. We also went to the water park which was great fun and not far from the hotel.
The hotel is really close to the main strip and the beach and the hill isn’t as bad as every-one says. Were definitely staying here again next summer.

What can I say! Magaluf is such an awesome place! I went with three mates, we're all 18 and we loved every minute of it.
I think bcm is far overrated however and we preferred getting a weeks MCP pass which costs 60euros off the reps, which gets you into boomerang [brilliant dance and rnb club, the best by far!] Tokyo Joes [rnb club, almost as good as boomerang] Ledgends , Bananas and Honeys lap-dance bar which we didnt go in for obvious reasons haha.
Ledgends foam party was good but ledgends and bananas weren’t the best clubs there, however they were ok.
The week pass really does save you money as its usually 15euros a night to get your mcp stamp and without it your missing out on the best clubs there. Trust me it’s worth every penny!
The apartments are decent. The apartments themselves aren't as modern as the hotel, however they were clean and comfortable.
The pool area has recently been refurbished and is a bit different from the photo in the brochure which shows a bridge, green floor and a hut bar. Its the same apart from there are no sun-loungers just comfy sun beds and umbrellas, the floor is white and the whole pool area is white themed and very modern. The jacuzzi is good but its way too warm to be in that all the time.
The hill does take your breath away a bit but if you take it slow its fine. The staff were ok however we were waiting an hour and a half to get our 80euro deposit back so make sure you have a word with them after half an hour in case they have forgotten about you... Be warned when leaving, the luggage room is tiny and if you get your luggage in there first you will have to literally climb others bags to get to yours or risk not being able to put yours in there at all.
Also many people were being fined for jumping over balconies and for going in the pool after hours, the pool stays open 10 till 8 and after that there is a security guard.
Lovely hotel though I would definitely go back there.

It's not been long since we have come back from a lasses holiday. There was 8 of us altogether & everyone loved it!! In fact I am going back in September!
The hotel was dead jazzy 'n modern inside with comfy poofies n setee's to chillax on....it's full of youngin's from about 17 to early 20's messin about n having a laugh...wouldn't advise anyone to take young kids there as the lads take over the pool with their diving n ball games haha.
Being a group of loud Geordies we got quite a bit attention from big groups of lads but it was a laugh 'n everyone got along great. The food in the hotel was ok but we mainly ate out. There's loads of bars and restaurants down the hill (which isn't even bad once yav walked it a few times....just be careful walking down it in heels haha)
Pedro (the man behind the counter) tries to keep everyone quiet on a night time but nobody takes much notice...Overall though we all loved the holiday there was loads to do & loads of places we never got to go because we were only there for the week! Gutted..x

Really nice, modern etc. huge comfy sun loungers (fit about 5 people on 1) the rooms aren't anything special, but just what u need for a wild week away.
The Hill...
It really isn't that bad. I was dreading it, but I think people who have said "how bad it is" well they're either really unfit or exaggerating just slightly.
as for the bars/nightlife, sotavento is a really good place to start off the night, whether its drinking in your rooms, on the balcony or in the bar...as its at the top of "the hill" its at the start of everything...the main strip/bars/restraunts/shops and beach are a short walk away.
staff are really friendy too, its nice n clean n the grubs quite good too.
Sotavento is a great place to stay, top noch for an Escapades hol (Ive gone with freestyle and similar companies before and the accomodation on offer is no where near as good as this place)
So this particular accomodation is fantastic for a week with your mates...Magalluf though?!!! different matter altogether...Famously nicknamed "Shaggaluf", which says it all really... if you don't mind biggin it up with a loada chavs while your feet stick to the floor in most bars then its deffinatey the place to go...it's like a hotter, sunnier version of Blackpool...
Although there are some nice bars n places to eat along the beach.
Pick Sotavento up and place it in Ibiza, near Cafe Mambo or Cafe Del Mar...now that would be perfect!
