this is a great spot. its pretty close to everything you need and close enough to everything you want. one thing to note, this is not really the best place for families, think 18-30 holiday makers. we arrived at night so most of the occupants were out partying and it was quite quiet, this is not the case toward the early hours of the morning. on arrival each person must fill out some details, let passports be photocopied, etc. note well people on a budget, there is an 80 euro security deposit per apartment which must be paid in full at the desk, but if there's four people to an apartment then its not overly expensive. make sure to get a safety deposit box. its about 25 euro for a week. they are well worth it.
each apartment consists of 1 bedroom with 2 beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen/ living area. in the living area there are two large sofas which fold out. for these sofa beds there are no sheets or pillows, best go down to reception and get some. kitchens are furnished with cutlery, crockey, pots and pans, kettle and toaster. there is also a balcony which looks out either poolside or parking side.
in the reception area there is a bar from which you can get food or drink. food is average here and vegetarians dont expect much; pints are about 2 euro 60. best go down the massive you have to walk up drunk or hungover every morning, there are better places on down. there are also a couple of wide screen tv's showing regular football matches.
the pool is great. not too shallow not too deep. pool bar is close by and there is also a jacuzzi. not too many sun loungers, get there early to stake your claim, alternatively go to the beach which is a 2 minute walk. there is even soundsystem which plays most of the tunes you'll be hearing on holiday. Do NOT dive into the pool at night. this may seem like a drunkenly good idea; it will leave your wallet wet and 50euros lighter.
all in all, good place, staff friendly unless your being loud and some cracker people staying there.
enjoy

We arrived around lunchtime and room was ready immediately for us and guy on reception was polite - you have to pay an 80 EURO deposit which you get back at the end as long as theres no damage to your room - they are very strict on this and charge for everything!! guys in room about us broke a window and were charged 220 EURO so be careful
Pool was nice with enough sunbeds if your up before midday - otherwise beach is really close and amble sun loungers
food at hotel was nice - only ate there a couple of times - got to the happy house cafe on the beach front for brekkie - like 3 euros for a full english breakfast
bars and clubs on strip were awesome - go to funky monkeys next to club 21 for cheap vodka redbull and great music and atmosphere
beware the hotel is on top of a steep hill - until negative I have about the whole holiday and thats not anyones fault - dont let it put you off just beware!
Overall wicked holiday and would def recommend the hotel and magaluf

I came to maga with 6 of my friends for two weeks, i thought 2weeks was a long time and that id be ready to go home, how wrong was i! Magaluf is Amazing and id go back tomorrow if i could! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is up for a wild holiday with friends. The hotel is based on the top of a huge hill which leads straight to the stripe! BCM square is a hike but the walk there is made fun buy all the guys asking you to buy things and its a great way to meet new people. Id definately recommend the MCP clubs. Buffalos is really good and the foam parties are great!! Anyone going to magaluf id take plenty of cough sweets!!! the vodka kills your throat! so be prepared for the Maga flu! But beach is nice, although we prefered to stay by the pool, mainly because of the hike back up to the hotel! Food in the hotel was nice although id say go half way down the hill to the florida where you can get a propa ENGLISH breakfast, with real bacon and sausages. Happy house on the beach front is a great place to eat out, the 2nd one is the best as the staff are far nicer(happy place). Definately visit Mamma mia's pizza place, right near burger king! 1 euro a slice or 2 euro for any toppings. PIRATES IS AMAZING! The waterparks are a great laugh, id say the westen park is the better one although we enjoyed both, take your own food though and plently of water as the drinks and food in the parks are very expensive! In all the hotel is fantastic..sheets and towels changed every 3days and if you need any thing reception can be quite helpful. The sucurity man is a grump...and dont fall asleep on the sofas at night. he will attack you! Id definately revisit this hotel and im hoping to return to Magaluf soon. Enjoy Sotavento!

We arrived by coach at midnight...and from inside the coach we could hear blasting music. & where was it coming from? Sotavento apartments! We immediately knew what we were in for. There's no rest here, but why would you come here for rest?! It's absolutely great. Pool parties every week.....outside and inside bar. No pool rules! (within reason!).
Inside restaurant is good too.....good food at cheap prices.
Reception guys aren't the nicest....but really...who cares?! Sotavento is located at the top of a hellish hill (not so bad though when you're drunk!) and is right near all the main places and 2mins from the lovely beach.
Bad points:
Be careful, repair bills for room damages are expensive....we broke a cupboard door & a mirror and the repair bill was 300euros! And they won't let u fly home until it's paid!
DON'T go swimming in the sea at night and leave ur stuff on the beach, it WILL get stolen.
Other than that, there wasn't any trouble whatsoever in the main strip, the police are tough and tolerate nothing.
All in all, a great holiday and a great place to stay!!
p.s.....I Highly recommend the Foam party at Buffaloes!!

I think the whole holiday was fantastic (23rd June - 8th July), the men on reception were very helpful, kind and very funny. The rooms were very clean and spacious, there was an 80 euro deposit which we were aware we had to pay, but it was 20euros each for the 4 of us and we got it back on the last day with no problems (it did not leave us with very little money)
The hotel was on the top of a big hill but its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be (the steps to tbe beach are worse!) Everything is very close by, Bananas and Buffalo girls about a 3 minute walk at most.
The apartments do food during the day but I wouldnt eat from it, very modern and spacious reception and lounge but was sick after eating a burger (could have been the alcohol..but I blame the burger).
The pool is very big and great for a laugh, no strict lifeguards so its good for mucking around, making human pyramids, divebomb competitions..
The apartments are noisy are night but what do you expect for an 18-30s resort? Most rooms on the top floor have amazing sea views.
Got the whole holiday for under £450 for 2 weeks, went with another 11 of my friends and would definetly go back. We did not get washing up liquid, but we did get a cloth...who does washing up on a wild holiday anyway?!
all in all a fantastic 2 weeks with fantastic friends!!

what a holiday! bloody awesome!
went to magaluf with 5 mates to celebrate mine and another one of the lads 18th! what a way to do it! one of the most lively, high octane holidays ive had! yet, still managed to be civlised some nights!
6 lads, one week, one island, and more than enough money to see us through, awesome, bought myself a t shirt from the t shirt shop half way up the hill, you can design your own, had 'they never told me about this f*cking hill' in massive black letters on a white t shirt :D lovin it!
not one night passed that we didnt go out, first night there none of my mates were back at the hotel same time as me so i had to go find them, found one walking the opposite direction to the hotel, when i found him he said 'god am i glad to see you' he didnt have a clue where he was goin, same lad also ended up in a taxi to the aventus hotel, where ever that is, clearly got mixed up with the name!
managed to go out for a couple of almost civlized meals, a really good mates holiday! didnt really touch the beach as the pool was good enough! as was drinkin n eatin in many bars all day!
can't wait to go back one day, maybe for a fortnight for our 21st!

When we arrived at the hotel in the evening the receptionist was so rude! He demanded that we pay the 80 euro deposit for the room even though we had already paid for the holiday in full through easy jet prior to arriving. We had NO idea about this deposit, neither easy jet or sotavento apartments informed us of it before we arrived and this screwed us over for the whole holiday we were left with little cash and had to use our cards the whole holiday which was much more expensive.
Neither of us knew the area and when we asked for a bit of help from reception on the second day, we were served by a second man who was probably the rudest person I have ever met!! He just stuck a sign infront of our faces and walked off to the back office. The staff are extremely unwilling to even talk to you, let alone help you with any questions!
The hotel itself is close to bars and clubs however it is at the top of a huge hill.
The hotel is good for stag and hen weekends but definatly NOT recommended for couples or familes - it's noisey 24/7
Also, although our board basis was self-catering, they do not even provide you with washing up liquid or a cloth, seems a bit ridiculous to me that you have to purchase all this just for a 4 day stay!

This was the best experiance we have ever had, the apartments were lovely and everyone is really friendly, only been back a day and were missing it already, the rooms are really modern and the huge bar has a games room with a nintendo wii, the food there is qiute cheep and theres loud music all day by the pool and gym which is free so are the loungers! sotavento is situated on a big hill but its really not a big deal when ur pissed more a problem when ur sober ha ha, its very close to all bars and clubs even the beach, the bars and clubs are really lively and such gd fun we have met so many different people lots of stag and hen do's, its not really the place for a relaxing holiday but perfect for 18 to 30, dont expect to get much sleep ha ha, as can be really loud at night.
we give thease apartments and magaluf 10/10 were planning on going back soon and we wouldnt stay anywhere else have a gd time u lucky buggers (",) xxx

Really nice, modern etc. huge comfy sun loungers (fit about 5 people on 1) the rooms aren't anything special, but just what u need for a wild week away.
The Hill...
It really isn't that bad. I was dreading it, but I think people who have said "how bad it is" well they're either really unfit or exaggerating just slightly.
as for the bars/nightlife, sotavento is a really good place to start off the night, whether its drinking in your rooms, on the balcony or in the bar...as its at the top of "the hill" its at the start of everything...the main strip/bars/restraunts/shops and beach are a short walk away.
staff are really friendy too, its nice n clean n the grubs quite good too.
Sotavento is a great place to stay, top noch for an Escapades hol (Ive gone with freestyle and similar companies before and the accomodation on offer is no where near as good as this place)
So this particular accomodation is fantastic for a week with your mates...Magalluf though?!!! different matter altogether...Famously nicknamed "Shaggaluf", which says it all really... if you don't mind biggin it up with a loada chavs while your feet stick to the floor in most bars then its deffinatey the place to go...it's like a hotter, sunnier version of Blackpool...
Although there are some nice bars n places to eat along the beach.
Pick Sotavento up and place it in Ibiza, near Cafe Mambo or Cafe Del Mar...now that would be perfect!

We went to the Sotavento at the end of Aug last year, and it was amazing. There was 8 of us that went then a few days later 10 lasses came out from the same college as us, so the hotel was over run with people from Barrow, I felt sorry for them.
The security guy at night was funny, always on edge but it was funny. The room was really clean, but we kept running out of towels which was annoying. Only problem was that the cleaner would come in while we were still asleep from the night before, which was not really that much appreciated.
All in all it was immense! haha

Was definitely a great holiday in Magaluf. Despite the huge hill where the apartments are, myself and my 19 friends really enjoyed our stay.
It’s on a 2minute walk onto the main strip and from the Indie which was usually our first stop. The 2wentys reps were a great laugh and were there to help us too.
I would recommend going to Magaluf if you’re a young adult but don’t be surprised if you don’t see many girls in some clubs - guys far outnumber girls unfortunately!

Sotavento was really good for us as there was 16 young lads in my group, we was the youngest people there and made a few friends and what not, but no one caused any trouble with us or anything.
The pool area is clean there's loadza sun beds, the jacuzzi can only fit 8 people we had 16 in but they switched it off till some got out! Then about half way through the holiday it just had too much chlorine in to get in it, burnt your skin and hurt your eyes even when just near it.
Food was pretty good and cheap.
The security guard was a bit mardy at times, was always people out and about though. Went in a few peoples rooms as well as mine and there all same not anything special but can sleep 4 easy, you get a toaster, kettle etc
Took ages for them to prep our room bout an hour, weren't a problem though because we just sat and had a drink.
The main strip is 5 min walk all way down to bcm, there's clubs and bars. Went to bcm loadza times the popcorn party is awesome as well as the foam party, weren't very nice walking back wet though.
The PR's get very annoying just don't leave you alone but as there was so many of us we got some pretty good deals loadza free stuff,
Murphys bar is a must go if your into indie kinda stuff, they did all sortsa crazy games an things was well funny in there.
Would deffo go back there, going back next year but trying somewhere new :D

First impressions of the hotel were brilliant the reception area was gorgeous and really modern.
The room was the same although slightly crowded for 6. Couldn't have picked a better hotel in Magalluf, at the top of a hill it’s in the centre of everything with bars and clubs 2 mins walk away, but due to the very steep hill you don’t get any undesirables strolling past at 4 in the morning!
We met some great people and thoroughly enjoyed staying in Sotavento.
P.S watch out for the security guard ha ha!

Wow, where were to start with this hotel, it was fantastic! Would definitely go back again!
The hotel has just been redecorated and it very modern with a blue and white theme through out, it was very nice. The rooms had the same theme as the whole hotel and were very spacious and included a kitchenette and balcony.
The pool area was amazing, the sun loungers were like beds, they had waterproof mattresses on to sun bathe. How much comfort do you want after a long night out? They were perfect for a sneaky nap around the pool to regain your energy for the next night.
The pool bar was ideal serving any flavour cocktail you can imagine and it also has a jacuzzi which was lovely and the food was really nice in the hotel bar.
We went for a long weekend for a hen party and there were 16 of us staying in these apartments and not one complaint, apart from the dreaded hill!
The hotel is situated up a hill from Car Wash, if you know Magaluf. The hill wasn’t too bad if you were drunk and took a slow stroll up it. However during the day it was a killer if you walked at a fast speed. However you could get a taxi up for next to nothing so not really an issue.
The hotel met our every need however just a warning there is fine if you use the pool out of hours.
We went in May and it was surprisingly busy, there were alot of hen and stag do's out when we were there, but the atmosphere was really good and had a fab time.
I would definitely recommend if travelling to Magaluf, as it is a fab hotel.
