Renaissance Polat Istanbul

I do not like the security gate when you arrive and the guy with the mirror checking under your car for god only know what, also they make you go through a metal detector to enter the hotel plus security give you a good looking over. Is this supposed to make me feel more secure, if so its not working. Checkin was great as they gave me an upgrade as a Marriott Platimum holder. Renaissance Polat Istanbul Disappointing and irritating! - We booked through Marriot online several months before our trip. No discount - standard rate. At check in, the rate we were guaranteed was not available, it was 20 Eu more nor were the two beds we requested. We asked for a room on the Club floor in an effort to get two beds. We were traveling with our teen and didn’t want to have to get a second room. We were charged an additional 60 Eu for the upgrade and were promised a roll away for our daughter. Breathtaking hotel, one of the best i have visited, clean, grand, beautiful........... and thats the enterance! Rooms are top notch, and if you get a room facing the sea on the 19th floor then you hit the jack pot! I was there early Feb 07, and there were people in the pool, and it was 4'c! The Bar/Lounge is magnificent, there are nice boutiques, and the 'pub' is cute and quaint! I can not rate this hotel high enough!!

Having stayed here many times ın order to simplify my departure from Attaturk airport İ have had only wonderful experiences at thıs Hotel. The staff ıs professional and the rooms modern and clean. Nearby is a nice neighborhood wıthin walking dıstance. The hotel has every convenience with many restaurants to choose from. Not a downtown hotel, quite far ın fact from the city center but a superb property.

The Polat is a very luxurious hotel, near the airport. The rooms with ocean view are great, nicely furnished. There is a shuttle to and from the airport but it has to be booked in advance otherwise you will never get it. There are some beautiful weddings in this property, with fireworks and all. If you are in the higher floors the noise will not bother you. Restaurants are good and everything is super expensive. The Polat is a part resort, part business, hotel ten minutes drive from the airport and - depending on traffic - 20 mins+ from downtown. Right on the Marmara Sea, and in the pleasant suburb of Yesilyurt, it offers a nice alternative to the hustle and bustle of downtown. We went with Marriott Rewards Points and we stay 7 nights. Very nice neighboorhood, the best residential area of Istanbul. Outside the hotel only Porshe, Mercedes and BMW.... When we arrived they gave to us a nice room, but we asked for other and they give to us a Garden View room....ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL....Everything luxury. All the jet set and high class go to this hotel to celebrate spectaculars weddings...we saw a little bit one for free: great dresses, nice looks, etc....like the red carpet of the Oscar. We stayed at the Polat Renaissance in Istanbul in August 2005 for 9 nights, in 2 double rooms. The location was excellent, quiet and out of town though there were regular free city centre hotel shuttle buses - so we had the best of both worlds - easy free access to the amazing vibrant 24 hour hustle and bustle of the Great City of Istanbul, coupled with a peaceful retreat back to the hotel. unassuming yet excellent hotel. great service, great gym and in front of a beach! so you get both: proximity to istanbul (via the serpentine picturesque kennedy blvd), (right next to the airport) and a bit of a club med experience on the sea... hotel is located in one of the most charming upscale boroughs of the city. a stroll there is a pleasure. perfect alternative to the congested downtown. will stay there!!

Just got back from a 4 night stay at the Renaissance Polat Istanbul. I was traveling on business and made the reservation very late so the Renaissance was one of the few high end properties still available. (There was an Asian conference in Istanbul so everything in the city was sold out!) Overall I was very satisfied with my King Club level room.
