A Great friendly place to stay
This is a fantastic hotel. Hasan the owner was also a wonderful tour guide and showed us some amazing places. The hotel is a lovely cave motel and very central in Goreme. The breakfasts a wonderful and the scrambled eggs are to die for!! We have a great time in Goreme due largely to Hasan and the friendship he shared with us. Thanks Hasan
Fantastic hotel
This is a superb hotel, tastefully decorated with spacious rooms, modern amenities, all in a cave. It has a spectacular view and superb service. The rooms are very clean.
Great location, 'fairy-tale rooms'. But let down with Hasan's unexpected sales pitch
Wow the rooms couldn’t have been better! The breakfast was great and the offer of a free tour to familiarise ourselves sounded too good to be true..... That’s because it was... After an 11 hour bus trip from Pamukkale we’re picked up at the stop and shown our rooms, given a brief (yet cute) history lesson about Hasan and his cave hotel. Then after feeding the other guests Hasan and us embark on his tour. A quick stop up pigeon valley then to the ‘panoramic view’ where we are left to fend off the souvenir touts (who Hasan... more
excellent cave house
Stayed 7 nights here. Rooms are nicely furnished caves or cave houses built in an old family home, itself set partly in an ancient cave church. Spotlessly clean and very charismatic. We stayed 2 nights in room 3, which has a private balcony overlooking the Goreme valley and its extraordinary fairy chimneys; plus 5 nights in room 5, the largest room, built in the old winery. Both rooms had jacuzzis, although both leaked! Room 5 is a proper cave, and includes a raised cushioned reading/chatting area as well as a double bed and 2 singles. The... more
Beautiful hotel, but be wary of the owner unless you want to buy a carpet
In terms of location, views, excellent decor, warm cosey rooms, and lovely breakfasts, this hotel is a great place to stay in Goreme. One word of advice though.. The owner Hassan offered to take us on a tour, on our arrival. We accepted, although we'd just arrived after a ten hour bus ride, as he had been so warm and friendly, and we also did not want to say no in case this appeared rude - it also mentioned in the lonely planet that this quite often happens in this area. Before setting off we discussed it and we assumed that a tip would... more
Great, affordable and friendly
My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this hotel when we arrived by bus into Goreme. Hassan, one of the owners, welcomed us with a cup of tea and a brief history of the building and the town. He then gave us a tour of the area which was great and saved us having to do an organised tour (we tipped him for his time and effort for this). For US$50 per night, we got a great room and the best sleep we have ever had - quiet and dark. Breakfast was included and was plenitful and the views are awesome from all of the terraces. Although this lovely... more
Felt cosy in a cave.
The place was very nice and beautiful! Nice views over most of the "stone-town". Not from the rooms themselves, but from the terraces which can be found just a few steps from any room. The attitude of the owner was very supportive and friendly. Breakfirst was nicely served and decent. Free internet was a nice plus.
Fabulous accomodation, location and breakfasts.
I am a regular to this hotel. I met the owner Hassan some years ago prior to the building of this wonderful establishment. I now take many friends to Canyon View and the feedback from all has been extremely positive. To breakfast on one of the terraces overlooking the largest heritage listed outdoor museum in the world is an experience you should not deny yourself if you happen to visit Goreme. In building the hotel, remnants of the past have been tastefully incorporated into the design. It is atmospheric, quiet and comfortable. One... more
Great Place
Found in "upper end" section of Lonely Planet. Great room and incredible view and owners are super nice. We paid 80 USD for a huge room with 3 beds for 3 brothers traveling together. Worth every penny and would stay here again in a heart beat.
Fabulous views of Goreme, Cappadocia
We came across Canyon View by chance after a fantastic drive across Anatolia from Ankara to Cappadocia. We had already decided to find a place in a cave hotel in Goreme and this seemed cheaper than others around it, at about $50 or $60 per room, but once we checked in we realised it had one of the best views in town. The terrace allowed a total panoramic view of the magical landscape that is Cappadocia. We were there 3 nights and had the chance to sample 2 different rooms- each decked out with carpets and brass and copper ornaments.... more
