I had the most wonderful week at the Budak Hotel in Altinkum. The old Turkish couple who owns the hotel is a lovely couple who made me feel totally at ease and at home. Its a lovely little gem of a hotel away from all the noise pollution of Altinkum and only 10 minutes walk to the beach.
I've been to Altinkum quite a number of times and I can safely say I've had the best meals at the Budak, nothing is too much for the chef and he cooked his meals with gusto and to perfection each time. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was treated like a queen and special thanks to Hussein, one of the waiting staff, who waited on me, hand and foot. I also felt totally secure and safe at night because Mr Budak made sure the front doors were securely locked at night so I slept like a baby. I will certainly be back!

- Advice: I think the entertainment side could be better and also shuttle buses to ferry hotel guests around Altinkum.

Went to hotel Budak on the 21st july 2008 for two weeks.
When we first got there, the reception staff were rude and did not speak much english.
We(3 girls) had to lug our cases up the stairs. Good job we were only on the 1st floor, but still.
When we got into the room, we realised it was basic and very small, but its okay if your only sleeping there. When we came to have a shower, it was a trickle, and cold. We complained about 3 times. But nothing was done about it, so we worked out to have our showers early evening to actually have a warm shower.
The pool is very relaxing and the good for a nice refreshing swim. The bar staff were okay, chatting to us(a bit of english)but the boys in the resterant couldnt speak one bit of english.
The breakfast was horrible...The orange juice!:O minging.
The hotel is a far walk away from the centre of Altinkum, but its a nice stroll back once yourve had to much to drink.
Watch out for the pervy men, all they are after is you to go into the bars and spend money.
And if you do not go back they get annoyed with you and dont talk to you again. Which is childish.
We met a few new mates out there, The guy from "our Resteraunt", Okan, Nick, Brian and santa from the"orion Hotel"
I would recommend this hotel to those who dont mind basic, and far to walk.

the plumbing in turkey isnt as advanced as ours here in england, its not just the budak hotel, you are advised not to flush toilet paper and the showers are solar heated, that is why there is no hot water in the morning!
the staff arent ignorant at all, just some of them dont understand much english so you have to explain...but the guys behind the bar and in the resteraunt were fantastic, so helpful, friendly, joined in with the banter around the pool and at the bar in the evenings, didnt even mind when they got thrown in the pool
the hotel isnt a far walk at all from the beach or resteraunts in altinkum, the turkish men outside the bars and cafes arent 'pervy' at all.. we had no bother at all! in fact every one was lovely and they remembered us every night we went in or walked past
best holiday everrrrrrrrrr! especially as the rep kept getting chucked in the pool
